So she doesn't switch outfits in gameplay. During her story quest she does make you question her loyalties throughout, at least until late into her quest.
And Zapstring does play a big role in her kit. The attacks in 2:08 are her actual gameplay. If you look closely she controls Zapstring which controls the swords
14:14 There is a subtle difference, to me Genshin reminds me of "Moe" anime while Wuthering Waves reminds me of "Seinen" art styles.
Genshin tends to lean on a more youthful-looking character designs even for those that should look old. They love maximalist and over-saturated designs and colors.
Meanwhile, Wuthering Waves has a more mature art direction. Their characters look like their age with lesser exaggerated proportions. They tend to use less-saturated and minimalist designs and colors.
You can see this as well when you compare child characters from Genshin and WW. Genshin has that Chibi oversized head while WW has that balanced and proportionate measures.
Wuwa children actually look like children should imo it's rare to see children be portrayed well in a game but I'd say Wuthering waves did a fantastic job in that.

Unlike say Diona, a child but treated like an adult.

@@vanhnguyen8776 Even Encore feels a bit matured for her age, but still is very childish, WuWa gives a good feeling of yea the world is dangerous and even the kids have to grow up quicker, but they are still kids at heart

The appealing side of Wuthering Waves is it's maturity which I love it! The context is more darker and more meaningful might I say.

Loved her trailer. Top tier. I adore that they give that longer build up where in Hoyoverse trailers they do it in like 2 mins lately at max. The build up builds the character as well and gives the viewer a better grasp of the characters intentions. 🙏
Yep, I’m still on my knees from Jiyan’s trailer. It’s a whole story. I bawled. I fell in love. He’s my son and I just want to protect him. 😭😂

I think these breakdowns are wonderful; they're informative, topics don't linger too long on any one point and you offer small insights into the craft beyond just film techniques.
I would absolutely love to see you react to Sanhua's Resonator Showcase as it was their first character trailer and a less premium banner character unlike Jiyan and Yinlin. The one's you've seen so far have the highest budget.
Yinlin is a really awesome character. I'm currently trying to pull for her. I got some nice screenshots from her quest. The kaleidoscoping toward the end of the trailer when she's using her ultimate is really cool too.
You should really check Kuro Games' other sister game: Punishing Gray Raven. The EN trailer patches are its very foundation from the game from its very early conception and they still make do with Wuthering Waves' own spin from implementing PGR's style of showcasing characters/story.
Art style is so PGR rather than Hoyo games. It has colors and mature theming that is close and can blend with Arknights, Path to Nowhere, Nikke and other mature gacha games.
I loved her trailer couse its such a masterpiece and really shows off her personality with the small story rolling up a Fracitus operation(the guys in red with exstra limbs) and her role as a undercover Patroller.
Zapstring is her puppet btw.
I can't remember but have u checked out some of the previous resonator showcases?(aside from Jiyan, i know u did that one) like Encore's? couse they released alot of them over the past year including for some of the 4 stars.
Do check out the game if u have time, the 1.1 update is at the end of the month so might be a nice time to step in unless u want Jiyan and Yingling that are out right now.
Zenless zone Zero also launches early Juli so i expect alot of videos to come out for it this month so worth keeping a eye out for.
Zapstring isn't her power, Zapstring is the puppet, she gave it that name. As for the outfits and all, the only relation I can see between that and her gameplay is how versatile she is as a character, being able to be played as a main DPS, sub-DPS from off field, quick swap character, can benefit almost every DPS in the game currently, and that's not even the full extent of what she does, because despite her being Calcharo's best team mate, it doesn't go both ways, as Calcharo isn't her best team mate.

just to clarify, Zapstring is her pupet not her actual power. her power is the electric threads coming from her fingers that she is using to control Zapstring.
8:00 she basically just increase the voltage in the panel. strong enough to create a bigger explosion than the initial plan when you use the activator.

She does not change outfits as a part of gameplay. Her outfit change is more story related and her questionable loyalties. Never sure whos side she is on.

While I think the Yinlin trailer is the peak one for Wuthering Waves so far, it might be worth checking out their 'Waking of a world' trailer too as it's got some nice transitions and scenes too :D

Great video! So lovely to see you point out details that I usually can't think of. Other people have already said about the switching outfits so I don't need to say anymore. Besides that, I like to think that her demo has a lot of transitions because she's a spy.
For reccomendation, I will say that you should check "Fate/Grand Order - Memorial Movie 2023." I would say it's very interesting.

Combat in this game is S tier, i would wait 1.1 or later patches when they gonna improve the game a lot though

You're in for a big treat if you decide to play the game. In my opinion, in comparison to genshin that highlights the story more than the gameplay, this game highlights the gameplay and combat mechanics more than the story.
Agreed although story isn't any worse than genshins imo and for my personal taste is much better than genshin
One aspect they do better with the storytelling in WuWa is that the characters in normal dialogue are much more expressive, instead of acting like cardboard cutouts standing in a circle when talking. I don't know if the latter has improved much in the later version. It has been some time for me.
Favoring Combat more than story is not really a good thing most the time. I like wuthering waves but gameplay alone isn’t enough to keep one playing
@@ShadowExtremeEX8 alot of games do well solely via combat with little to no story at all. Having said that story is still good imo but kuros specialty is combat and bosses. As gameplay is what keeps people playing beyond what the story has. Genshin for example focuses 95% story and 5% gameplay while ww is more like 60% gameplay and 40% story. To name a few franchises that focus heavily on gameplay: all souls/ souls like games, tekken,soul calibur,dead or alive franchises etc, survival games such as conan exiles, strategy games such as total war franchise etc

Hey, have you ever considered watching Honkai Impact 3rd's animations? You talk about Genshin, star rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and now WuWa. Do you think you could react to a couple? Hi3 bc its kinda old always seems so left out.
I want to like the gameplay of WW more than I actually do, because there are a lot things to like about it from a story and structure perspective, and the combat is legitimately quite interesting. The gameplay loop is just not sticking with me and I find myself getting frustrated with aspects of that core loop, especially when it comes to character development. But from a playing perspective ultimately what it mostly seems to do is serve as a "I want a little challenge before I go back to Genshin" pallet cleanser.
But to each their own, it's wroth a try, and it does have several things to commend it.
But I've loved their ancillary output (things like this trailer) and absolutely love your breakdown here. So to answer your question in the video: would like to see more WW breakdowns.

Pretty obvious if you state that , then you just a casual player which is possible to stay with WuWa as well. Thing is , people tho it for hardcore only and its actually for general of people.
Sure it have hardcore stuff , but you can play how you want. If it not for you, it a fair point.
@@SanzuRiver Sometimes you just want to go beat up things in a pretty world with pretty characters for a bit, in a mechanically interesting way. Genshin is many things, but unless you are pushing very specific content "challenging" isn't usually one of the first words that comes to mind for it.
But again, to each their own. Some are going to love it, and that's great. Variety is the spice of life and all that.
@@nichthrafn this is fallacy speaking, i mean i get you i too play for for 7 years and i too keep finding reasons to play so that thousands upon thousands of hours of gameplay is not wasted and hundred of dollars is not wasted but i learned to let go.
