We love watching your videos! Thank you! I am SO glad we saw this!! We leave in 8 days from Canaveral and were very excited to have our minimum bid for Yacht Club accepted! We were booked for 2 specialty dining but not anymore! Not necessary because of the YC restaurant per your recommendation, so I cancelled them. THANKS! Saved us some moolah. And made us even more excited for YC because we’ve been to Butchers Block and loved it- now that will be available daily- YEEHAW!!😂❤ Our cruise is going to be great! It was going to be great even if we didn’t get the upgrade. We had already decided to have an awesome time, looking for positives, being open, curious, and flexible. It really is what you make it. Thanks for your suggestions 😊

Exactly same dining packages on European sailings.
Also we did not have a package but did one speciality lunch and they had a fix price for a three course meal if choosing within the “package-menu” and maybe even the 50% charge outside. This was Chefs Garden Kitchen on Europa.

Melana and I absolutely LOVE Hola Taco. Its by far our favorite Specialty Venue, it's laid back, fun and the food is awesome. AND, we don't have to dress up for it like we do some of the other venues. Our Number two thing to do is to book all our fun stuff including specialty dining venues as soon as we get on board. Number one is going to our Muster Station and getting our Boarding Passes scanned (So we can sit and relax when they do that big announcement for Mustering)
Thanks to TTT we will not be booking any specialty dining on the America YC experience. We get one Specialty Dining free with Melana's Diamond status and we are thinking we may not even use that. All about that YC experience 🤣

I status matched to Diamond, so we had a specialty dining meal on our first MSC cruise recently. We chose Butcher's Cut. It was fine. If we hadn't already been staying in YC, I would have appreciated it more. The steak was actually worse than YC.
Two things I noticed with the dining plan meal - 1. It's a steakhouse, but there were only 2 steak choices. 2. The limitations were odd. The entree choices were not the cheapest options. Why limit the entrees if someone could choose a cheaper entree?
We too have found that YC dining is superior to speciality dining unless eating the upcharge items at Ocean Cay Restaurant or Butchers Cut. At first I found it annoying but now appreciate that for the YC fare you truly get the best experience on ship without having to pay anything out of pocket unlike Norwegians Haven which doesn’t change their menu and kind of pushes you to spend extra on Speciality dining.

Love watching your show! We have never done MSC but are very interested in trying MSC. One of my biggest questions that maybe y’all could touch on in a future episode is about the main dining experience. Every cruise line that we’ve done basically has my time dining and it’s pretty much like going to a regular restaurant and waiting for a table and sitting by yourselves. I’ve heard that MSC is more like the old traditional style cruising where you may be assigned to a table with other cruisers. How has your experience with this been? Can you request a table for 2 by yourselves if you want the privacy? I think we would be ok with it,but have just never experience being seated with someone we didn’t know before. My wife is definitely way more social than I am. Thanks for any input.

This could be an awsome October for me, I retire in August and plan on making your group cruise and then a 2nd group cruise with a small TH-cam cruise blogger on the 26th for a Halloween cruise. Almost like a side 2 side cruise.

Great podcast- I am about to go on a MSC cruise soon. It looks like the three dining experiences limits you to go to Butcher's Cut, Hola Tacos and Ocean Cay. In order to eat at the hibachi, I would have to get the five package. Is that been your experience? Or could I choose which 3 I go to?
The packages can be tricky. I think it does limit and will tell you on the details of each package. We end up just booking on the ship since I don’t prefer to have the restrictions but that is our personal choice.
You definitely can save money by booking package.

Hmmm....Question--If you get the dining experience with 4 meals can you eat at Teppanyaki 2 times and Butcher Cut 2 times and then do sushi and Hola Taco as all you can eat for lunch and/or dinner? Also, do YC patrons get preferred dining in specialty restaurants? Just checking to see how fast reservations will actually go if YC does get preference. TY
YC does not get any preference, but the YC concierge will do what he can to get you in to the restaurant of your choice. Keep in mind though that the YC restaurant (in our opinion) is better than any specialty restaurant onboard. The YC main dining room cannot be compared to any other MDR on any ship. It’s amazingly delicious and the ingredients are top-of-the-line.
The specialty meal dining plans are limited to certain restaurants depending on which dining plan is purchased. We always suggest getting reservations as quickly as possible

PLEASE, PLEASE , PLEASE MSC. Change your muster policy. You've corrected so many issues including dining options that are included on the World class ships. The muster policy is a mess
