I am new to your channel. And from your advice, I really want to be more of an emotional painter I really like your emotional approach just do not know how to get there.
To focus on "emotional" color approach, I would encourage you to pay attention to color in art that really moves you. Spend some time being VERY observant and maybe even take a trip to a museum or an art exhibit. What color combinations in paintings do you find striking? And then, try to break it down further - are these colors light, dark, muted, vivid, etc? Take notes if it helps. From that info, try to imitate these colors in your art. It all becomes a fun experiment now! Even if you don't get your colors "right" from the start, you learn more and more about creating pairings. It's totally fine to mix acrylic paint brands, I do it all the time. Just don't mix acrylics with other paint TYPES (for example, oils and acrylics are not mixable).

Can you comment on mixing paint brands? ie using Liquitex and Golden?
