Then you see the Demi-fiend in the center, glowing brighter than all the others and with a much more fixed and defined form. For a newcomer, it compels the question "what is he?"

@BakuTex Yup. The story is that one of the staff members thought it would be great to include Dante in Nocturne since he would essentially fit into the demon themed game. So they presented the idea to capcom and they agreed to it with one condition. Kazuma Kaneko, the one who does the art for the megaten games, had to draw the devil trigger forms for Dante and Virgil in DMC3, which he did. lol
@BluntmanEXE In exchange for Dante's appearance, Kazuma Kaneko (demon artist for demon sprites lol) designed the devil trigger forms for Devil May Cry 4 (i think that's the one)
I had played some of the other SMT games but this one had to be one of my favorites so far. I love how dark this one is. Still, a must game to play for any true RPG style players.
Seeing this again after playing the HD version, despite it shilling Dante so much despite him not having that big of a presence in the game I prefer it because I like the way it's edited more. (also I do like funny pizza man...) But also the text in this one is way more intriguing and ominous. The original cutscene's text is describing the conception as foretold in the Scripture of Miroku, while this version is describing someone awakening to this horrific and desolate new world.
