I was impressed with your bridge. I’ve been tempted to make one but I’ve never used a bolt on neck. I was thinking about making a tenor and wondered if the top would require any bracing. Any thoughts?
It depends on what scale length (bridge to nut) the fretboard is fretted for. The 12th fret is always half way along the scale length, so for a 15" scale length, the 12th fret should be 7 1/2" from the nut.
Thanks for this, very useful information. Especially as I've just started making one

Most cigar boxes are thick enough not to need any bracing.
@@ChickenboneJohn Thanks
Cool stuff 👍✌️😎
How do you fix the neck to one of YOUR cigar boxes?
Great video, would love to make a cigar box baritone uke do you know of anywhere to buy a baritone length neck and fretboard cheers mukka
I think you'd have to make one from scratch.
I know you can buy tenor necks on eBay and then just string it DGBE
What should be the measurement from bridge to nut. I put mine at 15" and it sounds terrible (I'm a novice)

What do you do for intonation with the glued bridge.
You have to get it right first time!
How large should the sound hole be?
There's no formula or rule, I just cut it out so that it looks right.
