  • Presenter Jasmine Harman often wanted to keep her mother's hoarding struggle a secret from everyone else growing up, but in recent years, the pair have opened up about Vasoulla’s battle. Vasoulla sees a therapist for her hoarding and was told how her behaviour started when she was just six. As hoarding behaviours are on the rise, the pair are joined on the sofa by Jo Cooke, Director of Hoarding Disorders UK.

    I am a hoarder myself.
    I honestly don’t know what triggered mine but I suffer from Autism as well which has traits which that cause Hoarding such as intense interests.
    It is a constant uphill battle.

    I’d be interested to know if grown up children of such hoarders grow up with their own issues because of how they have grown up. I still have a reaction 😅 if the doorbell goes unexpectedly and I’m very tidy and minimalist.

    What a horrible comment Alison made about not being a bad person…that was totally uncalled for and below the belt…she should stop and think..but obviously she is one person who’s mouth goes off before engaging her brain…she does it quite often and it is rude….but then she is one of the rudest presenters on the show to begin with…

    • @jujutrini8412
      @jujutrini8412 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      I think it’s obvious that the guest had had a more fractious relationship with her mother when she was younger due to the hoarding. It’s not uncommon for children to row with their parents over this issue so I don’t think the way Alison said it was out of order at all. She said it in a rather compassionate way, having empathy for the guest and acknowledging that she has made some progress in how she looks at her mother’s behaviour and concentrates now on showing how much she loves her mum rather than being annoyed about the hoarding. I don’t find Alison to be rude towards people at all. I just think you don’t like Alison and when people don’t like a person they can nitpick everything they say. That’s fine - I don’t like loads of people on TV, we all have our own tastes.

      @@jujutrini8412I’m of the older generation….I don’t need to have anyone explain to me about families etc…bedsides I do not like Alison…there is no need to make derogatory comments like she does…..she is obnoxious, rude, lacks manners and is full of her own importance…that’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it…that’s why comments on This Morning are open on TH-cam…the show monitors them for rating purposes.

      Don’t worry too much about that comment. She didn’t mean anything bad by it and I can assure you that Jasmine and Vasoulla were not offended in any way.
      Thanks for looking out for their feelings though ☺️

      Many hoarders are actually perfectionists, and find the task of cleaning their home overwhelming because it will never be perfect due to the hoard. So actually getting started on the task can be really really difficult.
      I’m sure you must have had days when you have so many things to do, that you decide to get under a blanket and fall asleep on the sofa instead…… Well, for many people with hoarding disorder, they feel this way all of the time because it is literally such an overwhelming amount to do.

      So you don't really empathise then if you can't understand
