Guess they should have done it the safe way a couple of times and used new synths or samplers. I think they were okay the first time I saw them perform live, and really good the second time I saw them perform.
I'm a dinosaur (63) never heard of Ladytron until a week or so back in 2020! and I love to discover music, A friend who loves three bands which I rank in my top ten [Sparks, Kraftwerk, and Future Islands] said he loved Ladytron so I started listening through youtube - today [8/12/2020] three Ladytron CD's arrive in my post so I now own '604' 'light&magic' & 'witching hour' judging by what I've heard on those cd's I'll probably own their entire back catalogue by early 2021, I'm also aware that Helen has some solo work.

I have caught their music being played on high fashion runways and in several other places where you know an artistic ear heard and appreciated their sound and wanted it for their exhibit. They're honestly too good to be in pop culture, they are for the intellectual.

I'm aware that bands can sound different live vs studio, but I have found her voice to be considerably different here and on other live videos singing this exact song. I'm saying this as someone who loves this song... particularly the studio version which captured something extra special not found here in this live version.

I love the original version of this song, for sure. What I got from this is that all the members were keyed up to play live.

I dont think so, Brian Molkos voice is a bit more nasal and maybe not brighter but more sharp if you compare them. He has a wider spectrum than Helen, and the characters differ alot. Brian feels alot more vulnerable, while having powerful bursts of emotion, while Helen is more determined and dominant both lyrically and emotionally. I guess Helen could be Brians dominant school teacher that helps him when things get rough and helps him out of bad behaviour. Thats my opinion!
I discovered them some months ago and I'm very surprised with their unique sound, with a strong beat and smoth voices. In certain songs, there are familliar sounds of the typical synthpop of the 80's, including the special nosense underground influence of Kraftwerk, which is amazing. A truly wonderfull surprise!

Had the privilege of seeing this group live in lower Manhattan around 2005. Changed our lives for the better.
