Actually, this kind of video gives you ideas of places to go and explore more. Also let's those of us that can't travel see places we can't go to ourselves. I enjoy these.
Hi Stan. Thanks for another beautiful ride in God's country. ❤️
I enjoyed the video, got to see a part of the country I have not seen yet, so beautiful too. Also, I love the history part and the research you do to inform us. Great job!
This video was EXCELLENT !!! I was able to watch it in it's entireity with occasional pauses for coffee refills, in and out of animals, etc. I have no favority parts because I loved the way you combined the history lessons with the scenery. It's like being right there !!! I realize seeing it firsthand would be better visually, but like so many of your subscribers have said, it's not in our wheelhouse of possiblities. I'm 70 years young and have been around a lot of these areas siezmographing in the early 80's but never time to explore as we were working 7 days a week except when we were rained out....long days, so rain days were catch up on sleep days !!! Well enough of my rambling. Keep these longer videos coming !!! Can't think of a better way to wake up than sitting here sharing coffee and watching you explore with us riding shotgun !!!
I really enjoyed the video for the fact there is alot of cool history and small towns that most never knew existed. I rather like videos that are 45 minutes or so . Especially living here in western ny during the winter and nothing to do around the ranch. It keeps me occupied.
Hi SASNAK....watching from Utah. Years ago there was a show on tv about a man and his crew going from town to town. They would stop at history towns and give information like you are doing. But also, they would randomly stop at houses, knock on the door and asked those who answered if they would like to be on their program. They would give their permission to be lightly interviewed. Everybody has a story to tell. So, along with history, we learned so much about people in these smaller towns. It made a very interesting addition to the program. You may or may not be interested in this idea. You are such a people person. I have watched you for quite some time. Would really like for you to succeed in your UTUBE endeavor. I will watch like I always do because I like your personality. Thank you for giving us at home the chance to see what these United States look like. Otherwise we will never know because we are stuck mainly in our own zip codes!
I appreciate the history & spectacular scenery, thank you, Sasnak.
The long form videos ❣️
Loved this video Stan, the whole thing, the history was so interesting and scenery and country beautiful! And your sense of humor and commentary are great! Thanks so much for doing these! 👍😃
Stan, I really enjoyed this, especially the mini history lesson, which I felt was just right. I watched the whole thing on my iPad with headphones! Back in the ‘60s, a couple times a year, I used to drive back and forth between St. Louis (where I was going to grad school) and California (where my folks liked) in a VW Bug, taking both northern and southern routes, about a 40-hour drive. Yes, there is indeed beautiful scenery in the western US. - I’m now on the east coast and I miss it. Thanks for sharing and please keep it up!
Thanks for the adventure.
Enjoyed the video. Loved the history and the backroads.
Good morning,Stan ! Thank you for sharing your adventures. God Bless 🙏
Sas, putting this on in the background when I was doing my household chores reminded me of hangin' out with you in AZ. Saz-on my friend!
A book mobile?? I love these as a little girl. Made me read more and know every two weeks or month I can check out a new book. We love your history videos. As I have stated in other videos we started watching you on the convoy. We learned so much from your convoy days. We always appreciated truckers, but you made us REALLY realize what a trucker does for our country. This history video was very interesting. We appreciate all your time putting into learning the history and then forwarding on to us. We thoroughly enjoy your long videos. Shorter ones we just get interested in and you shut off. We also watch it on our smart TV. So please start making longer videos. Safe travels and thanks for taking us on your travels. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
It’s been 20 yrs since I drove parts of this route, really enjoyed it. I’m planning a return down the area next month. Top notch video for this country guy.
Have fun!
Hi Stan 👋 We liked this video a lot. Besides admiring the beauty of the area, we enjoyed learning the history of the settlers. So interesting, especially the one about the guy who jumped ship!😅
Regarding the length of videos, we usually prefer the 20-30 minutes, but like you said, we can always just pause and come back to them later. So, just keep doing what you want to do and your subscribers will keep on a watchin! ❤
Hello from Michigan!! As a 10 year cut the cord person I only watch TH-cam. At first it was hard trying to find vloggers that I could sit and watch. Now I have several that I watch on the regular. Some upload daily, some once a week. Here are a few that might give you some guidance.. Traveling Robert, Kara and Nate, The Carpetbagger, Trent & Ally, Adam the Woo, Days with Jordan the lion, Yankee in the south and thru my lense are just to name a few that travel. All have a different perspective on coverage. I enjoyed the long footage, great for laying in bed just before dozing off! Safe travels.. BTW I'm the girl who gave you the big coffin flag in Ohio, lane 3 driver. Trucker G does vlogs as well.
Enjoyed today's video, felt more like your trucking videos, your "rambling" is the best part!!
Lonesome Dove, love Agustus and McCall. My all time favorite western movie.
I liked this format. I live in NM but haven't been this way this year. You have shown me things I didn't know were in my own state!
I always watch TH-cam on my TV. Just for the reasons you stated. Thanks for for the great video!
I'm from NM, and have camped at Red River, and seen the town several times.
Keep up the amazing work!
Yes I like the longer vids....we haven't had cable for years. I have my own little cluster of content creaters that I watch regularly and you're one of them
I spent 2 weeks at the Philmont Scout Ranch many years ago. I haven’t been to this area since. I appreciate your video and narration. Brings back a lot of memories.
Eagle Nest Dam was built by one of the Springer brothers and completed in 1917. Lots of history about it. Eagle Nest and Angel Fire just a few miles away is very expensive. Especially Angel Fire, big ski resort.
Viewing my state with your narration is enjoyable! Thank you for the enjoyable videos you post.
I see you finally made it up in my neck of the woods 🙋♀️👋. Hey Stan ! Thankyou for coming through. HAVE FUN! AND JESUS KEEP YOU SAFE IN HIS LOVING ARMS TODAY TOMORROW AND EVERYDAY.😇🙏💯💞🇺🇲
It was very informative; thank you for all the history. I felt like I was on vacation and he scenery is simply stunning.
Fun live listening to history. You could hold a big new generation audience,,and hold the attention of seniors enjoying truth.
I started watching you Stan during the Washington DC trucking movement. I really enjoyed this video and will continue. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Means a lot to me being 81 years old and not even to travel and see new places in our great country. God Bless You.
Love the Historical aspect ro your video🎉👍. Thanks for driving slow enough we can “drink in “ being there.
Love love love the history and scenery of Cimmeron🥰
Great job. I really enjoy all your videos.
Over an hour and I am more intimated to start watching. I just happened to be tired and something simple suited me.
One of the best videos you have ever made.
I like these types of videos because I get to see places that I might not be able to go to. Love looking at rural America.
Good morning Stan, I watch you on my cellphone, then when my wife watches we plug you into our TV. You are right very pretty country!! We are finally getting freed up here in Arizona. Getting ready to head north ourselves, headed for Colorado, may cross paths. Enjoy them mountains, Hope to see ya down the trail!!
Great job! Wendell and enjoyed this so much. You travel like we like too when we can .
very beautiful and infotmative ride My favorite part THE CLIFFS wow THANKS SASNACK
Yes, you can be another RV'er TV channel, you got this! Love the way you narrate, keep up the good work. Please make more video's like this, we love it. Watching from Camano Island Washington State on a desktop computer with a big screen monitor. I use my phone to make phone calls not watch video's Lol !
More to come!
Now, that's a sky I remember. No chem trails.
We're very familiar with the places shown in this video. My wife and I met in Angel Fire and were married 45 years ago in Raton. Her folks lived in Cimarron at the time. We stay in Eagle Nest each year for our anniversary. The video quality is excellent.
For your viewers, there is a Lowe's Supermarket in Angel Fire so grocery shipping isn't a big problem. Plus, there's Russell's Store in Cimarron. Taos does have stores (Walmart and Albertson's), so if you prefer going there, those are options.
The 2018 Philmont fire you mentioned burned everything south of US 64 from the mouth of the canyon just west of Cimarron up to the southeast side of Ute Park. You can see the burnt trees. It will grow back but will take another 20 years to mostly recover. It was such a beautiful place.
I love All of your videos, Sasnak. I didn't know of you until I started following the convoy. Since then I've gone back and watched a bunch of your travel vids and also watch your bus conversion vids. Your vids inspire me and make me want to roam the roads. As they say not all who wander are lost. Keep going! You re an inspiration
I love the back roads..Go to Elephant Butte. It used to have great fishing. ..Be safe.
LORETTO CHAPEL. MUST SEE. In the heart of historic Santa Fe, New Mexico we attract people from all over the world who want to find out more about our revered, "miraculous staircase." The chapel is a historic phenomenon that must be witnessed during your travels. We attract the most devout, the most intrigued, and those that are looking for that rare place they will never forget. We are a mystery waiting to be solved by you!
OOH YEAH! I LIKE THESE SO MUCH BETTER.❤
I was hoping to make the circle trip, unfortunately I won't be able to. Thank you for taking me on your trip. 🌮🍺
I enjoyed the video I am going to go back and watch it on my tv I like it when you go into details about the towns it’s so interesting to learn the history of the places you are visiting
Great video!! Let me say this The Republic of Texas has returned.
I’ve been in that area a lot. Love that drive through the canyons. Had my motorcycle a few times. Incredible riding. Carson national park is nice and nice camping. It has all gotten so expensive. Thanks
I noticed the trail goes through my part of the country- Salina, Ks. I liked the long format- between purty scenery & the folks- characters from Cimmeron! I ❤️ the flags hanging beneath the lamp posts in Eagle’s Pass! Shared on FB- to help you get more viewers. Safe travels!
I enjoy all the videos Stan. The longer videos are cool and stay safe on your adventures.
I really enjoyed the long form video format, keep up the good work Stan!
Great job Stan I been watching your videos for a over a year now I also watch rvertv sometimes I have to watch them by splitting them and watching a couple nights but I like the longer ones .I think russ still throws a short one in once in a while.. keep doing these videos. I enjoy them..I live up in northern new york in the Adirondack mtns thanks
Beautiful,,I feel like I was with you camping,,, that's valuable.
I enjoy these videos Stan. I watch every too. Get yourself some theme music. Traveling Robert does fantastic because he does his own. It's very catchy. I find myself singing his theme song out there driving along many times.
I've been looking at NM for a base since your video began. It's so pretty! Less than 2 ft of snow per year? I'm there.
Love this Video
I like the longer video 's my self. I can watch at my leisure. Thank you,Stan
This is the first time watching your channel and love this video. I’m keeping a list of places to go when I retire and this is one of them. I’ll need to watch it again to take notes, but I’m sure you won’t mind. The location, area history and the month you’re there are important for me. You’d be surprised how many travel videos are out there that forget to tell where they’re at, or they’ll just name the state only. Keep it up and I’ll keep watching.
we really enjoy riding along on these videos. we miss you trucking days and this takes the place of those. we get to see country we'll never get to. thank you very much and keep these going.
I lived in Clovis in 77 I did see the beauty
I was listening while I had a task to complete.
I may watch it again if I have time, I would like to look carefully at some things you mentioned.
God bless
This is your calling. Only other TH-camr close would be Sidetrack Adventures.
Hi there,
I enjoyed this trip. It appeared in my recommendations and since I’ve been researching/learning about the state I’m now living in I decided it would be a good video to watch, subscribed as well…
A completely different hobby I have is collecting old postcards, believe me it opens more questions than it answers as I continually go off in a different direction learning about different areas of New Mexico…
Here’s a thought on changing things up s bit. I watch a fellow in Montana who chases around after old mines and ghost towns, “Outback Jack”. He puts little “info boxes” up on the screen to add bits and pieces of history etc. He really get out in the boonies to find things. Not sure how capable your van is. Spend some time in the different locations, have a meal, show what you’re eating. Lots of little things could change viewership numbers…
The adventures in the journey and what you discover along the way, not the final destination.
My old stomping grounds!
1:36:56 the name of the town that you couldn't remember was Questa. You would first pass the Molycorp mine, where they mine for molybdenum, a metal hardner. Then, you would finally arrive at the one traffic light they have in that village, Lol. Turn right and drive for 20 minutes, and you hit Costilla, NM for only 2 minutes before crossing the Colorado state line. Turn left instead, and you will pass Llama (former home of the late D.H. Lawrence) and Dixon, before arriving to Taos.
I love this format. I subscribed, and will be watching for more. Thanks Stan. In
Pretty country. Shame to pass up all that fine trout water. Nice hobby, trout fishing. Good eatin or throw em back. Love the long form video.
Thank you so much for the ride. It was just beautiful ❤ ⛅️🌲 I enjoyed it. Just last week drove from Colorado Springs to Albuquerque New Mexico, and was wondering what it was like out in that area. 🌾🌲🌳🌞🌙🌾🌲🌳❤
Yes remind people to sign in so they can comment. I do enjoy the history of an area those people are hurrying through to their vacation people generally don't have time for history so that is a plus that you cover it
Hi Stan yes hour long video's would be great loved this one it's the only way I get to learn about your beautiful country and see it we have beautiful places like that here in South Wales uk but we're only a dot compared to the u.s
I was watching all vids since the convoy.
New viewer here - this popped up on my youtube feed so I think you're right that youtube is bumping longer format videos. I enjoy the longer road trip formats of travel channels like yours and Russ'.
I do enjoy the occasional scenic stop for places to see and explore - just driving from A to B is less interesting.
Love the long videos. I think more thoughtful detail on the history part. Enjoy your casual personality.
😊 great job thanks for the history
Yes,,fisher of Humans,,and fish to discover an endless abundance.
And that children, is how the West was won. Stan, a while back when you showed that Americus campsite near Buena Vista, Colorado, was when I got to thinking you were helpful as Russ, but more thorough. Makes me want to head that way.
Killer video yes to the back roads👍👍
EXCELLENT! KEEP IT UP,BOSS!
Something I think is interesting about old courthouses is the Hanging Tree. Sometimes it was on a property sometimes it's across town. They either had that or Gallows. Interesting research. Judge Roy Bean Tree still stands
Good stuff! I'll be visiting that area this summer
I Really liked this video! Great information and history. You did great with it. My husband has never been to New Mexico, or Colorado. Enjoyed the scenery for sure. Watched on my big television! Thanks for sharing Stan! 😀
Enjoyed the video.
I enjoy the little shops, hubby calls them junk shops. 🤷🏻♀️
As a kid my sister and I used a willow pole and caught the family of 6 a trout supper many a time 🎣
I love all your videos the short ones and the long ones. I watch them from my phone as I clean house or just setting and relaxing. Been watching your videos a long time even with the Freedom Riley, with your beautiful Simi truck. Keep up with the good work. Love the beautiful country you been traveling in. Be safe.
Morning Sasnak.Great vid. Loved history related to old and new towns in Cimmaron, beautiful scenery on ride to eagles pass valley , town and dam. Beautiful ride on way to Red River. Open spaces, trees and mountains. Red River looks like a really nice town and an inviting place to stop, shop, visit and maybe stay a few days.
Good job!
Enjoyed this video Sasnak….great way to see the backroads…my husband and I did long haul but only main roads usually…
Well done Stan! Watched the whole vedio and loved it! Keep up the good work! 👍🤠👍
Thanks, will do!
Enjoyed it Stan great jobqbetter than watching reruns
Awesome video. I’ve stayed at the St. James in the annex part. It’s a very haunted hotel 👻 One room is even permanently locked.
Really great video with awesome information, thank you for sharing. I travel from Wisconsin to the SW US to get away from the WI winters & really enjoy the backroads of America. I will definitely keep these areas in mind to check out weather permitting.
Watching from Huachuca City, AZ. Beautiful video and scenery. Red River reminds me a little of Cherokee, NC. If you are ever down this way there is a lot of history about
Fort Huachuca (where the Buffalo Soldiers were stationed_) I hope schools notice what you are doing. Kids learn some history but don't have the videos to go with it. It is
more meaningful this way. Thanks. Looking forward to the next one.
I'm a new subscriber from Chicago. I love the way you do your videos and I will, GOD willing, keep on coming back. One observation you made about some Wyoming folks, I too found them very snooty when I was there. I won't be going there anymore.
Not Wyoming in general but around Jackson Hole I find them to be as you say 'Snooty'
That lake was actually private property owned by the Springer Land and Cattle Co. which still exists. The state bought the lake and land around it but the ranches south of the land still own much of the water in the lake. That’s why there are other properties along the road to the lake.
Hi Sasnak,
Below we've added some timestamps to specific places within the overall video. If you copy/paste them into your video description, then it'll help other viewers toggle back and forth if they want to come back to this video or leave off at a certain point kinda like a bookmark. It should help keep people engaged if they want to skip to various points in the video too for audience retention. Keep up the good work, appreciate you putting in the research to make these types of videos possible.

❤ I like it Stan , I’ve been poking ALOT on line for a new home and I keep going back to the Santa Fe area . I’m totally fed up and full of Idaho and all the freaking implants that I swear have zero common sense ! You know the kind , can’t find their butt with both hands and have no idea about living in frozen hell and worse they apparently have no idea how to find out anything except to get on the local groups , my dog got out oh no what do I do ! Fed up w/ stupid up here!
Outstanding job.
I've been to this area many, many times to fish Eagle Nest and also to ride mountain bikes at Angelfire. Been around the Enchanted Circle to Taos on to Questa back to RR. Anyway, it's awesome to see your video and you did a great job.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this video been watching Wyoming Jeepers too and very good. I am going to look for if this kind of stuff as tv has just gotten to bad to watch no real family stuff thanks for showing this
I really enjoyed the history about Cimarron. I agree with you not liking the reservation system to go camping. I can never get it to work. It’s frustrating and disappointing. Love your video! ❤
I totally agree!
