      Michel Nguyen Thanks for the comment. It actually was a lot more work than I expected but it was a great journey with the horse.

      @@SteveDyer I commented above, but late seeing this. Is this an older animal? If so, they are definitely more difficult than the younger ones.

      Jean Fish Thank you for your comments. This horse was a 5 year old stallion when he was captured. I agree. The older they were when captured, the more difficult to train.

      @@SteveDyer thought so with the neck and aaggressiveness. Quite possibly he had his own herd even if relatively young. Much more fight than flight.

    Wow horse shows great potential! Learning from your video here. I do have a question can you please tell me how you got the halter on him or how did someone else get the halter on him?

      The BLM guys put it on them in the chute before they load.

    Not only is slower faster, but the more they watch other horses the faster they learn what's expected.

    I don't think he is too lean in the hinney, he's just not a quarter horse. Quarter horse butt isn't everything. There is spanish and arab and gaited horse and more other in these mustangs. I have seen quite a few videos of very pretty mustangs with their slicing fast running feet from this mustang training challenge. One lady did a DNA test of her mustang--very interesting. A lot of the mustangs come up with ulcers too. Stress of roundup and rough food?

    So, if they take the 40 best horses...over time isn't that going to turn the whole wild team into a bunch of stunted ponies? You're taking out the best breeders.

      Gunther Ultrabolt Novacrunch that’s only for the 100 day comp, not every roundup

    This is one of the most skittish I've seen. Sure you will do well. Is this an older horse? Somtimes they are tougher than the younger stock.

    why wasn't he tranquilized first before being trailered? It would have been easier on this wild horse. I have seen a shot of B1 work well.

      Dixie Lee Hodges because then the mustangs would wake up while on the road and freak out and could crash the truck and trailer and kill people and themselves. Plus you cannot pick up an 1,000 pound animal and put them in a trailer much smaller than whatever machine you choose.

    • @linessjustliness6032
      @linessjustliness6032 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mustangs are given time in the trailer before anyone moves to calm down and accept their current situation so they don’t get injured or injure anyone around

    It's just a nightmare watching you supposedly training that horse! You and all horse people should adopt Marty Robert's Join Up! You could have already had him come to you and following you around. Within 30 mins. you could have him bridled, saddled, and be riding him! Your non-technique is horrible! Please look up "Join-Up" with Marty Roberts." He will show you how to join up with the horse, which has a language! It's eyes, ears, mouth movements, body language, certain postural movements! Marty knows this language well and responds to it, promply. The horse responds immediately! Please watch Marty's TH-cam vids to see him work! Thanks

      @@jeannawilson662 You've taken weeks to ride that horse. Eqqus is the key! The language of the horse! By responding TO THE HORSE instead of the horse responding to you! If you truely watched his demostrations, you can't deny his method is real, provable and works every time! So try it and do it correctly and you'll be riding your magnificent horse in THIRTY minutes. Please be open minded. And be bonded to that horse forever! Join-Up is the ultimate answer to gentling a steed. They'll do anything you teach them after they trust you by joining up with them! You are their mother and they are your son or daughter. Marty observed this behavior in the wild. He was color blind and lying on his stomach on a mesa he observed the herd and their behavior. He discovered the mother or the matriarch disciplining the misbehaving colts and fillies! He began to adopt this to bring the animal to realize he is not a danger to him and furthermore, can trust him. The horse is one of the top flight animals in the animal kingdom! At the first hint of danger they will run up to 5 miles full gallop before stopping to "get away!" Their arch predator is the Couger, which jumps on their backs and rakes open their stomach! So they avoid cliffs and overhangs and tall boulders! Never approach a horse with you fingers spread out! It looks like the claws of a cougar and they'll jerk back or try and pull away. A horse is NEVER AT FAULT! Only the human is at fault. The horse wants to do what you've taught it. It will work for you. So if there is a mistake it's not the horses fault. Never, EVER strike a horse or jerk his reins! This is not to you personally! It's my plea to all horse people to please adopt Roberts method, join-up, and everything will be easier after that. It's a matter of trust and safety! Thanks
