I knew before you started (and suspect you did as well) the final order would be Plumb, Fiskars, Space Hatchet. Loved the vid thanks.
Yes! Thanks for watching.
If ya are willing to spend $200 on a hatchet ,so be it .i prefer the warmth of a wood handle ,especially for 15-20 bucks, then take the other 185-180 $ to buy a limbing axe with mask & sharpening system for them both & still have cash left over..just my .02 tho to each his own. Great info Jason 👍🏻
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching
Estwing makes great ones too
I was gonna say the same thing and its a very affordable hatch that most people have owned over 20years.
Indeed
Thanks for sharing
Here in Finland we have all kinds of Sanvik hatchets and axes in old used tool shops, cheap, sometimes as little as €5! A thing of joy!
Wow. What a treasure to be found. I’d love to visit Finland one day.
A Hatchet, the Estwing Sportsman Hatchet, is my go-to cutting tool.
Awesome
Hey Jason! Huge fan of your videos! EDC today is sencut sachse an old ka-bar hunter, Victorinox huntsman, bic slim flick custom mini altoids tin, DIY mechanical pencil, CRKT minimalist rovyvon e1 hybrid, times e perdition, zebra v-301, big idea design mini pen, timex expedition, grim workshop paracord bracelet, a banana bandana, and smith and Wesson swf-606
I buy old vintage Plumbs, Collins, True Temper and Norlund hatchets and re-handle them and refurbish them, excellent heat treat and performance and the satisfaction of knowing they worked well for my ancestors and they will do well for me.
Love my Fiskars!! I have the splitting ax and the camp ax. Neither have ever failed me.
The Plumb, no question.
I imagine the light Titanium hatchet was designed specifically as a "Pack Hatchet", for minimal weight on long hikes. Hard to beat old school hickory! It's a winner! I do have a Fiskars because it's what I could afford at the time... it does the job well.
Fiskars ftw. I personally own and use the 24" hatchet and 36" and love em both. They serve me very well
Nice!
I have the Fiskars hatchet and enjoy it alot. I will soon pick up one of the "old school" hatchets from Harbor Freight bc I do belive it will do a great job for what I need!! Thanks for another great video!
Good video, thanks for sharing , YAH bless brother !
I would also say your E-bike is similar to the Titanium Hatchet. You’re Plumb Hatchet is very similar to an old Swiss hatchet I’ve had since I was a kid. It’s on its third re-handle and te-profile similar to my twice restored 73 Yamaha CT175 that I paid 250 bucks for in 1975. Both still going strong!
I'm an old school kinda guy myself, the petina.. the comfort is also very important to me!
I like the old school one .
@12:45. The book hatchet comes to mind ... and also.. the best hatchet is the one you have on you!
Simple the less energy you expend carrying the hatchet the more energy required to cut wood . The more wood you cut the more it pays to carry the heavy hatchet and the less time you spend cutting.
The plum gets my vote
Good to know. Thanks
You bet
Same . ...
Love on 3
Thanks!
Algorithmic post! I like my Council Tools Woodcraft Pack Axe. It serves my purposes perfectly. Fun video!
Cool, thanks!
Great info!
You have an amazing property . I'm jealous. God bless you.
I have a ww2 hatchet marked US on the blade, my favorite!
Awesome
There is no school like old school... I just love the wooden handle axe. That would be my choice.
Nothing wrong with $15. Gets the job done and you can make another handle if needed. .....And it's nice to see another Southpaw! "Everyone was born right handed, but only the greatest overcome." -not sure who said this. lol
The old plumb is the most expensive in that bunch it is a beautiful hatchet I have never spent more than 5 dollars on a axe head . Even for my near mint hudsons bay loggers axe I would love to own that plumb. The titanium you can chuck it The fiskers will break Give me the plumb. ultralite is dangerous Toughen up pack some weight . Those half assed tools will get you into trouble can,t stress that enough . Assoon as i seen the plumb i never even paid attention to the others That titanium is a joke .
In D2 just Crazy!!!
@7:22 is that a gun in your waist or you happy to see me!?!? Lol... pelvic crush... is the yt friendly version!😂😂
Yes and yes 😄
I like a wood handle on a hatchet.
See ya on the next one
The Plumb is my first choice then the Fishers and last but not least I'd take the space hatchet if I had to. That all metal design would give your arms spasms after a while. Jason if you're not careful I'll sneak in your barn at night and steal that Plumb hatchet. LOL 😆. Those jewels are getting hard to find.
Fiskars kind of guy right here.
Fiskars makes a folding saw that i would put up against a silky or Bahco Laplander any day. When it comes to the hatchets and play devils advocate, if you only had the axe (no knife), would your choice be the same?
I don't know if you know it. Fiskars gives lifelong guaranty. I changend here on the farm to Firskas years ago without any issue
I didn’t. Thanks for informing me
If i use one i use my old plumb or collins
Old school every day the wood is replaced easily I have some over 60 years old that are still as good as new.
Wouldn't want a D2 hatchet. Instead of rolling and being easily sharpened in field, D2 would chip and be harder to sharpen. It being that light, it's more like a tomahawk
If I'm paying 200 dollars for a hatchet titanium or not it better have something better than a paracord handle that's ozark trail quality
Yes!
Jason hows granny doing ?
Fantastic. Still running circles around me
I'd take a dozen plumbs over that skinny 200$ thing any day all day.
Also not a fan of the back of the Fiskar
Me too
