I remember walking into Riviera one year and entered at the bottom of 1, where we would cut across to the sponsor tent area. As soon as I saw the fairway, walking right across our path, was Freddy. Just moseying on down the middle of the fairway, hands in his pockets, looked like he was just taking a morning walk before traffic got too thick. Everything about him is relaxing. I recall at another event we watch Vijay go out of his way to avoid the crowd around the range, as to not interact with anyone...then here comes Freddy. Kissing babies, shaking hands, autographs and pics left and right. Class act, what golf should be.
Adam Scott is the epitome of all that’s good in golf , he may not have a bag of majors but his integrity transcends , thank you Adam and Fred may you be blessed with good health we need more like you.
After winning states 2 years ina row in the early 2000s my interview in the paper was all about Adam Scott being my favorite player & inspiration, my mom still has the article along with many others ina scrap book. Him & Boomboom are both 2 cool dewds who make the ball sing.
As great and as accomplished Adam is. he still seeks knowledge from the legends that paved a way from him. Staying humble and showing respect. Adam is truly the poster boy of why we say golf is a gentlemans sport
My god. To this day watching Fred Couples Swing is a work of art. Like a Rembrant, a Da Vinci, A Van Gogh, you name it. It is the most beautiful swing of all time. Looks absolutely effortless because for him, it is. Legend.
Adam letting Freddie take the lead shows how much respect the golf world has for him. Adam's resume can go toe-to-toe with Freddie's, but instead of letting his ego get in the way, he let the more experienced player share his wisdom
Couples swing will always been one of my favorites ever... i could only hope one day to have a swing as effortless and smooth looking as his.... just unreal.
So nice watching one my idols from back then. The rhythm, personality, follow through. So many qualities from the era when swings were more arty and not just machinery. Also miss Els and Monty. Also so nice rhythms. Mmmmmm.
@@cp90_ Technically that’s a crap statistic. One missed putt under 8 feet is equivalent to whiffing a drive and making a putt. Obviously putting is orders of magnitude more important. Also a driver is one club. A minimum of 2 wedges and I surmise the 8 and 9 are more important than the driver. As a once professional statistician lots of stats are interpreted incorrectly and/or don’t really estimate what they purport to do.
@@meyer7262 Dude your spouting BS you’ve heard a thousand times before. Like in football, “It’s not offense that wins games it’s defense.” Total nonsense depending on the teams, circumstances and degree of offense and defense proficiency. Here in golf we’re not talking about 92% of the chopper hackers who literally may not get off the tee. We’re talking 260 to 280 in the fairway 3/4’s of the time if a competitor’s driver isn’t working and he chooses a 2-iron or 3-wood instead. Versus 310 to 330 and in the rough 50% of the time for the co-leader. If the former player has the wedge play of a Trevino or Michelson (and sometimes Woods) or the putting acumen of Woods (back in the day), Cameron Smith or Jordan Spieth the 260 yard dude is going to win most of the time. And yes great wedge players and putters can be relied on to do it hole after hole (eg Cameron Smith 2022 Players Tournament). It’s not unusual for a hot amateur or tour pro to light it up in getting down off the green in 2 seven out of eight times. When I was 13 140lbs and was lucky to drive 240 I cleaned up the junior ranks often of 14 to 18 year olds, some of whom could drive 350 yard holes on occasion. (Back then the huge hitters had absolutely no game on and near the green 😂). Endless 18-year-olds fell to me in match play because I absolutely drove them nuts. I was hitting woods and long irons into greens they had short wedges into and I’d consistently win holes. Literally drove them insane. They’d lose their game. Back then I was as good a wedge player as the best on the tour. A master was my coach and I’d hit 500 wedges a day 6 days a week. On tournament days I’d get down in 2 from 60 yds in 3 out of 4 times. Trevino was a relatively short driver. During his hot periods no one could beat him. And why he scorched the seniors tour for years.
@@mrsmartypants_1 Yeah well sorry to tell you but you're just wrong. Mark Broadie has a book and plenty of podcast you can check out.. It's mathematically proven at this point. The podcast are all pretty good. I'd def check it out if I were you.
@@scottrackley4457 definitely, I think he was saying Adam goes after it compared to Freddie just smoothin it & they’re only 20 yards apart meaning Freddie rips it with ease.

You can make a case for that, if rhythm is the key component that you're judging. But there are many swings that are considered more "fundamentally sound" than Freddie's. While Adam, all things considered, might be the very best swinger of all time. It's such a subjective label, though.
This is a great episode. Really cool to hear Adam talk about how he plays the Tee Shot on 15 at Augusta. Those are the things I look for as a competitive player.
That was such a good watch. I just want to be a fly on the wall for 18 holes with those guys. Missed Ben on camera mixing it up though. Is a wrist check faux pas on Fairgame???

He's a class act, always has been, just like Freddie
Adam has a TV future waiting for him…
He really is, super talented.
Two of the best swings will ever see chillin 😎. I can rest now.
Even just the sound of these guys hitting balls is amazing. Out of the dead centre every time.
This was one of the coolest videos ever on youtube. Two of my favourties right here.
I could just watch and listen to these two all day. What a great pair of guys golfers. Thx for this. A pure treat!

There is just something about Fred’s swing, so smooth and easy, the best looking golf swing ever.

Just love the casual banter, bring up a specific hole, they both have the same vision and wooooosh. Yep that's it.
Two of the most consistent tempos of all time 🙏⛳️🙌
These are only getting better and better
These two are in my top 5 of all time. Seriously appreciate their view of the game.
two of the coolest men on the planet right here
