** IF ** you are looking for a used 2021 CX-5 with a Turbo 2.5L PLEASE have it looked at by a mechanic. ALL Turbo '21 2.5L Mazda Models have been suffering from oil consumption issues due to the valve guides/seals leaking. There is a Mazda TSB as well as a CA lawsuit that has been filed. Not sure if this was caused by supply chain issues back then? It was during the height of the pandemic. -Note: Some '21 2.5L Turbo models are unaffected at this time, and the normally aspirated ones so far are fine as well.
The service manual says dont exceed 12 months or 7,500 miles. So anything under is a waste of your oil. If they are using full synthetic oil 7,500 is the way to go. 5k is too soon. If it were my car I would change oil between 6,500-7,500 miles. If you don't drive a lot make sure oil is changed once a year minimal. Also the service alert in your car can be changed to what ever interval you choose. Hope that helps

I am unable to make the 'reset' selection because those parts of the menu are 'greyed out' non-selectable. What to do?
Thx for this information... trying to get this from the manual is impossible...
I'm glad you found it helpful
Hey, thx for the quick how-to! Q: Even though you use synthetic, do you not let it go the full 7500? Is your preference 6000?
Oil is cheep engines are expensive!!!
Hi, i just got my 2021 cx5. The dealer told me to do oil change at 5k miles. The service alert in the vehicle was set to 6k. Which should i follow?
