- 🇩🇪 Adam Beyer lässt bereits in den 90ern die Welt spüren: Schweden kann auch Techno. Gemäß seines Vorbildes, dem Detroiter Jeff Mills wechselt er schnell Tracks und Tempi, dank seiner schnellen Finger meist an drei Decks gleichzeitig. Kompromissloser Tribal ist das Resultat und zugleich die neue schwedische Variante von Techno, die er zusammen mit seinen Landsleuten Cari Lebekusch, Thomas Krome und Joel Mull definiert. Hart und funktional tobt sich Adam Beyer auf seinem Label Drumcode Records und dem Sublabel Code Red aus. Housiger und experimenteller ist er mit seinem weiteren Label Truesoul Records zu hören, das den Fokus auf Konzeptalben setzt. Seine musikalische Vielfalt beweist er ebenfalls auf den housig nuancierten Mixalben für die fabric- und fuse-Reihe. Auch für die Time Warp hat er bereits eine Compilation angefertigt.

🇫🇷 Dès les années 90, Adam Beyer affiche la couleur : la Suède s’y connaît en techno. Fidèle à Jeff Mills, son modèle originaire de Détroit, il alterne les titres et varie le tempo, le tout sur trois platines grâce à ses doigts agiles. Résultat : de la tribe pur jus et une techno revisitée à la suédoise avec ses compatriotes Cari Lebekusch, Thomas Krome et Joel Mull. Adam Beyer se défoule en mode hard et fonctionnel sur son label Drumcode Records et le sous-label Code Red. On le retrouve sur une note plus house et expérimentale sur son autre label Truesoul Records, qui met l’accent sur les albums-concept. Il affiche en outre son éclectisme sur les albums teintés de house pour les labels Fabric et Fuse. Et il a créé une compilation pour le festival Time Warp.

Ok so to add upon many of the points made in the comments below and as my personal take on all things considering; Beyer has adapted and moved his sound & record label to areas of what people on the dance floors have responded to over time. The essence of adapting. At he core of his record labels and the total control he has of his sound, not least over the past 15 years, is only a true testament to what we all know as Techno. Past or present, Beyer flies a big flag in bringing that sound those that maybe do or perhaps in some cases don't know.

Being a big fan of ADAM and his drum code sets , I have to admit that this gig is not one of his best....but it is just my humble opinion....

Sebastien Bxl Feel the same, the second part is more raw techno oriented. In my opinion, the man know perfectly the job his doing and where he want to land at his set ends, it’s just like he was managing to open his set with more « commercial » techno than back in the years, welcoming new people and then dropping some very interesting tunes when he had them into his hands. Smart moves as a producer and techno label boss, obviously not something that ravish his fellow and olders fans, but that’s how it works. You need to refresh your audience for a simple reason : if your have been doing this for more than 20years now, your early audien is not anymore in the club or the crowd pit, they are stuck at home, raising their children and remembering how good it was « back in the days » while watching this set in confortable couch 🤓

For Me as an underground artist,I would feel like klown on this Time Warp stage... I rather play in the clubs,or small stages because of independent way of expressing the True way of Techno. It's all just about the True meaning of House...
Time Warp and general events of this scale; they are an expression of what you desire but on a grander scale. Techno will alway be underground. How you achieve / get the sense of satisfaction / fulfilment is solely depend on you. Word; Techno for life
Just as a matter of personal interest, what is considered to be non-commercial techno? I honestly want to know. I wasn't "there" in the 90's/00's years where techno was different apparently. I changed music styles over the years which I don't consider to be a bad thing. But now Techno has re-appealed to me in a big way. I also listened to the often recommended Cari Lekebush which I liked but for me, just as with Beyer, I have parts in his sets I really like and other parts that appeal less to me. For example, for me, the Ramiro Lopez track in this set is one of the highlights for me. Would this considered to be commercial techno?
