    I don't care what anyone says, your videos alone have helped me more than anything. I am not sure if people just try and consume EVERY piece of information out there on how to throw a backhand and deveolp conflicting results due to different approaches and nothing lining up for them. My breakthrough has come because i practice EVERY day... not because your videos magically made me better by just watching them. I don't even want to be a pro, I just want to be good at something I thoroughly enjoy. I had to actually change how I approach my lifestyle to accomodate this sport and it has done nothing but give positive results. Your videos/drills were just the catalyst that inspired me to put in the work. I needed to feel how my body wanted to work and I used that as a baseline to improve with your content as a blueprint. Guess what, over time I found myself being able to move more fluid, with less effort, and no pain. Oh yeah, NOW my form looks cleaner and SO much better and I am still putting in work to get to 500 feet (152 meters). I just want to say thank you, truly and genuinely, for taking time and effort to produce content that we can consume for free and that is helping those around you AND those all over the world.. That is a noble cause and should never be ridiculed or despised in any way.
    Cheers.

      Thank you. I sincerely appreciate that you took the time to write down these words even though no one asked for them. Your kind gesture has made my day.
      I agree with you. Neither would I want to trade my current lifestyle for being a touring disc golf professional. However, I continue to study the game and share the information I learn because I aim to improve daily.
      Thank you.

    I'm definitely going to work on gently moving my throwing arm into the pocket and really exploding at the very last moment.
    Until now I've always started accelerating it from the peak of the 'reachback' when I'm coiled and my arm is fully extended. I think that means that centrifugal force takes over, I don't get into the pocket, I over rotate and my throwing arm swings out early. I'm looking forward to changing that if I can!

    • @dgspindoctor
      @dgspindoctor  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good idea. I'm not sure how to teach it in practice, since we all have different ideas about "full power" and "accelerating"and so on, but I do believe the deep pocket can in most cases create more speed and spin. Getting there is the hard part! You can also try if shortening the reach back (bent arm style) makes it easier for you.

    I’m going to work on keeping my arm more relaxed. I think the key may be to loosen my grip a touch. I always feel like I’m muscling it. I can break 300’ at the moment and hopefully I’ll get to 350’ then 400’. I appreciate you making this videos. I need to simplify my approach to practicing.

    the farthest shot i ever threw came when i was most relaxed through the entire shot no lie.. i did like give it a slight burst through the deep pocket but mainly smooth.. when i try to be fast even i dont get it as far.. for me relaxed is the key word! good info as always!

    SLINKY The universal concept of disc golf. It's what makes this sport so hard.
    Seems to me that the tension you can build moving forward while holding back, then holding steady and letting everything unwind/ release/ follow through. Is in my putting, forehand and backhand. It's a lot like a slinky.

    But in some photos of professional players the forearm is very tense and it almost looks as though the skin of the back of the arm is like someone is pinching it and pulling it away from the arm. I don’t get how this happens.

    • @dgspindoctor
      @dgspindoctor  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Oh, it happens because of the last-moment grip squeeze and mainly because the arm moves fast; the skin is "ripped" off the soft tissue, showing the muscles way more pumped than they are.
