Speaking of a goalie…just looked at Georgievs stats… 9-11 .873 and 3.53 GA, Blackwood is an absolute unit to have maintained the stats he did playing in San Jose the last few seasons.
ya blacky was just over .903 save % i think with a 3 ish gaa lol we won that trade by miles lol woooo ,blacky has let in more than 2 once im pretty sure and that was the vancouver game and it was an empty netter , carolina and both buffalo game were weggie and we won the buffalo games . god hes just on puck tracking is so much better and him being bigger helps and just better lmao all around that 4giev ,5 years we get 5 solid years lets goooooo
That was a playoff game, wasn't it? So glad the Avs stood up to the challenge. Oh, and next game when MacKinnon gets into a scoring position I beg every Avs' fan to yell "shoot!." Who knows, maybe our collective will carries over 😉
I think during the broadcast they mentioned that the Avs have used 39 different players this year and Panthers have used only 24 different players. Very interesting stat! Great cross-over guys. I wish Blackwood could play for Canada in the 4 Nations! 🇨🇦
Yeah. GAA is goals multiplied by 60 (mins) divided by minutes played. Even so, his GAA with the Avs is 1.69 with a .939 save percentage. His save percentage with the sharks was .911 this season, and his GAA was 3. On the Sharks. His save percentage and his gaa are great. I’ve heard people say he struggled in the past, but looking at the dudes career, he was never on a good Devils team, and the sharks are…the sharks. He had pretty decent stats for the devils until his final two seasons, and even those weren’t as low as we’ve seen in Colorado. Then he picked it up a little more…with the sharks. And this season was doing even better. Now he’s on a team that can actually help him and he can help them. So the 4.00 gaa for one game isn’t going to be averaged using that number. It will be a goal and minutes that are plugged into that equation.
@@jas0nd3an Yea, I get that. I was just more or less referencing it depends on the scope that you are trying to look at. you can say the same for georgiev, sample size is everything. you say oh look, the sharks such a bad team that blackwood gets a pass, but no one does that for georgiev, when the avs played like shit in front of him. Because, they did. And they also did in front of wedgewood, (recent buffalo game anyone?) they just havnt yet in front of blackwood. For the record, I think blackwood is better then georgiev, so, good trade. i just didnt like how georgiev was treated by the fan base. In addition, we are once again in cap hell now, thanks to blackwoods new contract. No extension for Rantannen though. At least we could extend the goalie we have had for less then a month, but the nicknamed power forward who set the franchise record in goals? nope, no extension.
What about the Avs’ pp? 0/4!!! That is unacceptable! Why can’t Bednar get them to stop this stupid never-ending passing before they soot the puck or lose it?? Why can’t they just watch videos of teams that do the job like Winnipeg? Is that really so hard to train and to bring some variety in your pp approach?
The players available dictate how the PP is run. Personally, I always want to see a guy parked in front of the goaltender but you need the right guys to do that and with Val out of the lineup and obviously Landy, they don’t have that net front presence. And it’s not like they don’t try at times but the smaller guys like Lehky or Drouin are much easier for defensemen to clear out making that much less effective. Hence, you end up with your skill players running a more perimeter type PP with the intent of spacing out the guys killing the PK for open shots.
his scoring pace is 50% at best of what he was last year, id save money if i were you, its going to be a miracle for him to hit 25 goals this year. 100 assists on the other hand...
Other teams: Well, we were missing a key guy
Avalanche: Oh my sweet summer child
Best comment ^^^
LMAO, Chris opening with FLA injury woes was literally laughable as if COL are healthy.

1 ga against :P , allowing less shots so i dont care what his save % is gaa is the main stat and yea :P 2 or less yet again for blacky
His GAA against buffalo was like 4.0 just so you know. because GAA is about time played, not games. so, every stat has to be taken in context.

The panthers were short handed? The avs are missing more players than the panthers😂
5-6 all year , short handed wat a little pissy excuse lol
I think he meant short term injuries
We’ve already accounted for Landy and Wood sometimes they aren’t even listed onPuckLines anymore
