Overall, a great series of videos. I had my doubts at the start, but have rewatched some parts to get the details on how to use specific features in my own project. The best part IMO is that it is split into separate videos that each have their own subject. Good organization, and I also like that each video builds on what happened in the previous videos. I hope that with Time editor, I will be able to organize, quickly modify, and fine tune my animation. Additive layers seem especially helpful for fine tuning. Regarding the Additive Layers in Time Editor, how do you efficiently select and delete keys? Also, is there any way to edit the tangency of those keys. I found the most reliable way of setting an offset key on a layer was right clicking and using the context menu, but other than selecting each individual key on each individual attribute, there as no way to delete scores of keys all at once.
hey, Steven! two questions: 1) how to duplicate keys to a different frame of specific channels? 2) how to filter layer channels by selection - its to hard to find right keys in that layer's channels stack
My "add selected" feature after creating an additive layer is not working. Any idea why? After I click "add selected" for my sselected bones, it does not show up under the additive layer.
When you use HIK with Time editor to add keys, as soon as you scrub the timeslider, whatever you have key'd just pops back to where it started :( Why is this happerning to me?
@@gregorybennings8718 you need to add the controllers manually in the layer. It's an extra steps that gave me issues, i would have thought that Maya would add them automatically since you have your rig already selected.
@@kordaling I have a humanik rig. I click on one of the controllers, then I click on the clip layer, selected 'add selection' (as demonstrated in this video) and nothing gets added.
If only it worked this well. It doesn't! I am getting super inconsistent results with this. These instructions don't match the website. On the Maya website it says to select all the bones and controls below the intended control!?!? wtf? that does not work consistently either.
Finally all Mobu Features (Story) went into Maya. This are features developed 20 Years ago by kaydara ;) Anyway, nice to see! The Trax Editor was crap as hell!
hey my oh maya big fan of your work i have query i modeled simple shape in maya then export it to zbrush with uvs then sculpt and used decimation master with keep uvs option then export it back to maya now it has uv but very messed up uvs and geometry i cant bake it properly in substance painter or zbrush what to doooooo?? please help
Time Editor sucks.. Doesnt work with HumanIK, and if I bake to skeleton, it still wont let me add keys to additive layers.. Also its very slow and laggy.. total crap..

3:10 for those who can't set a key in a layer. Yes i know, controllers should be added by default but no you have to do it manually.

This tutorial does not work with HumanIK .. ie, Time Editor dislikes HumanIK. Key a HumanIK limb in the Time Editor? ... nope.
