      This is sadly a lot of wishful thinking. Remember that we made it to the semis last time with some luck and a lot of grinta, those details are usually impossible to replicate.
      At the same time, many teams won olympic golds or U23 world cup but it didn't translate to first team successes, just because football is complicated
      Realistically, Morocco's goal should be to constantly make it to the 16 round of every WC, and at least the semis of every CAN. For this this we need serious work, not just silly optimism coupled with an inchallah here and there.

    As an Egyptian it's really frustrating. Since our FA is super corrupt.
    And Morocco is what we could be.
    Morocco focuses on youth development. The EFA don't care and rely on Al ahly and a new club called Zed. The worst thing is that Ahly is literally beefing with the EFA all the time.
    Egypt has the best clubs in Africa, and our National team reached two afcon finals, won the u23 afcon in 2019, finished 2nd in the last u23afcon and reached the semis in the Olympics. Whilst literally having a murderous FA in charge.
    Imagine what Egypt could be if it just changed a bit. The same can be said for many African nations. Even Tanzania, the clubs there are developing rapidly. But their national team is dreadful

    • @benb7111
      @benb7111 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With all the respect I have for the Ahly and what it achieved I think it’s a two edge sword.. and that is also one of the main reason of downfall of the Egyptian football lacking viable competition in their league and having the bigger hand on the way that league is run..

    • @AdamAziz0
      @AdamAziz0 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@benb7111 I get what you mean,
      but Ahly isn't even the biggest spender in Egypt and also during the "golden age" of Egypt, I'd argue it was less competitive. The past two years it Pyramids have come close. Pyramids bottled it this year. Zed FC is doing great academically and was voted for best academy in the middle east. And Zamalek are slowly returning to their glory and they have won the confederation cup (Africas Europa league). Egypt in the African space is known to have the best league quality wise, but Ahly is just run smoothly. The Moroccan league for example has been much more competitive, but has less quality than the Egyptian league

    • @benb7111
      @benb7111 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AdamAziz0 I would arque Morocco produce way better quality players then Egyptian league with a major difference in the players mind set of wanting to move on to better European team or gulf countries and the willingness of their team to let them go if they can make profit while Egypt players for the most part are contempt staying in their league as they are overall over paid for their talent..
      As for the ahly it is still by far the team that runs everything because of their financial situation,and also their huge fan base… making it impossible for any one to runs the Egyptian league without their support.
      The Egyptian league in my opinion needs a very strong neutral leader to run the show with clear strategy and the support of the highest helm of the government and the president

    • @anti-genocide
      @anti-genocide หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AdamAziz0 I watched many games from the Egyptian league , it was a suffering to watch with that low quality ( which is not better than the moroccan one ,both are miserable leagues lol) . But I understand why for Morocco since they keep sending their best players and stuff abroad , they encourage them to do so even at younger age , it's like you're not that good if you aren't recognized abroad so you won't see the best players playing in the league but rather elsewhere.
      2- I was surprised how powerful Al Ahly is inside the egyptian federation , that's already a bad sign. I mean Raja is supported by the crown prince and it's his fav club but it's far from being that powerful . Federations should always encourage competition if they want to remain powerful.

    • @AdamAziz0
      @AdamAziz0 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@benb7111 I don't quite understand what you mean by neatrual leader. When Ahly has kind of waged war against the FA for it's horrible schedule. In fact ahly has been punished by the federation a lot. What's your source of information.
      (the schedule is illegal and dangerous btw). It's not only Ahly that has done it. Money wise it's Pyramids who have the most and spent the most and they're catching up. They bottled the league this season. I know independent journalist and small media teams who go through African football and are saying what I'm saying. The egyptian league has the best quality. There is a reason why Walid the coach of Morocco told Reda Slim to move there and frequently selects Al Chibi into the NT. And it's looks like Yahya Attiat-Allah might go to zamalek
      Thought the Moroccan league probably gets a few players into Europe. Morocco has way more dual nationals than Egypt does. In fact I think most (maybe all) of Moroccos players in Europe are dual nationals.
      Egypt's problem isn't ahly. That is ridiculous. Ahly is the club that lead the golden gen and has kept football a float.
      It's player safety, youth development, lack of contact even dual nationals, lack of proper investment, hiring the wrong coaches, lack of organisation, corruption etc.

    The Moroccan Football is in golden era. It's not only just limited to the men's football, but the women's football as well. They had a deep run in the 2022 Women's AFCON, where they only lost to South Africa in the Final played at home soil, and also reached the knockout stages of the 2023 Women's World Cup for the first time. Not to mention, the futsal team was also one of the best in the world and might be one of the favorites to win the World Cup in Uzbekistan. As for the men's team, they reached the 2022 World Cup semifinal, had won the U-23 AFCON, and now won the bronze medal in the Olympics. The only thing they need to do is the senior AFCON, with the next edition taking place at home soil. This is definitely a must-win for Morocco.

They will win afcon in 2027 and 2029 and inchaalah they will play the final in 2030 because the narional team, starting from 2027, will be a matured version of this U23 team and the fans support will be phenomenal to say the least. If such a scenario is not realised, it is a setback for the Moroccan football. It is now time for the Moroccan players to show their qualities and win titles specially on the African scene

  • @anash7
    @anash7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I appreciate it when foreigners talk about my football national team, but I keep hearing the same mistakes being repeated over and over again.
    The whole "Moroccan project" isn't some kind of big start-up idea, it is not about Moroccan building big infrastructure to develop "talent" which recruiters gathered from all corners of the country. This is just some beautiful story that people keep telling because the socio-economic nuances are quite difficult to understand, especially for a non native.
    It is easy though to see this with numbers. How many players from the WC2022 team come from the Mohamed VI academy? 3, out of 21 (or was it 25?).
    The vast majority, and the best players in both the first and the olympic teams are double nationals. Meaning those players who were born or at least grew up in Europe for one or two Moroccan parents. Those players had the advantage of growing up playing high quality football since they were little kids, and all of them are active in big European teams.
    Technically what Morocco is doing, is that we're sometimes taking the left overs (players who were not good enough to play in Spain or France), but oftentimes taking the top players (think Hakimi or Ziyech, who refused to play for Spain or the Netherlands). Why would these players prefer Morocco is another complex question that has to do with immigration, racism and the concept of the fluid identity.
    I am happy with this system for now because it is helping Morocco become the best African team, but I am afraid that the ceiling is not that high when compared to the big powerhouses of Europe. We need a more sustainable plan, something like having at least 10 similar academies to Mohamed IV, and even more importantly building a better national championship (ours for instance is not as professional as the Egyptian) where teams can also have their own high quality academies.
    In the end of the day, all of this is constrained by non-football factors. Morocco as a country needs to stay stable politically, but also progress more economically and go on a more democratic path. Being a good football team is usually just the result you reap from having a good, prosperous and stable society.
    Thanks a lot of the video, and I hope all of this doesn't come through as some sort of criticism, I appreciate you talking about Morocco a lot.

    I find national football teams so interesting.
    Some of the European national teams best players come from Africa or have some descent from their. While from Africa some of their best players come from Europe or at least some descent from their. It’s a lot of nationals team best players aren’t full of that nationality lol. But it’s great for all the teams that need those players. Besides if you at least are related in some way related to the national team you play for even if it’s from an ancestor from a long ass time ago you definitely deserve to play for your national team

    Regragui seems to resent Rahimi since Rahimi is born to a family that supports Raja Casablanca
    and Regragui was the coach of Wydad Casablanca, the rival team of Raja.
    Coach Regragui can have some racist characteristics when it comes to selecting players for the National Team. Also, choosing Akhoumach as starter for the first National Team would be not so easy for Regragui since there are many players on the attack, especially Ziyech whose presence is difficult to give up on as he's the Captain of the team along Saiss + he is loved by the people unlike Akhoumach who was hesitant on choosing Morocco over Spain.
    There is still apparent dispersion in our National Teams from all categories and divisions unfortunately.
    I hope I'm wrong, I hope I'm just yapping too much.
    You are welcome to Morocco any time habibi.

    The loss against Spain was unlucky. If they would win they would win gold, 💯 it was a expensive lesson learned. They missed Adam Aznou from Bayern, 18/19 years old, Saibari 22 from psv, chadi Riad 20 years from the premier league. The future is very strong

They literally brought the best coach in Africa right now, Mokwena. They also brought players from french ligue 1, South Africa and Brazil, so far. I expect them to be a team to fear in Africa, if not this year, the next year they're gonna shine.

    Morocco has always had good players but needed a local coach who shares the love of the country instead of the pay check! In addition, referees have always been against African nations (example: Morocco against Spain and Portugal at the 2018 World Cup, the semi-final against France last World Cup... etc.). Best luck for Morocco and African nations in the future...

    I always thinks that Morrocan team, the actual one, is more fit for European Completions than African ones, most of their players perform in Europe at the highest level in different climate, while in Africa it's a little difficult due to the fact that Africans are more physical, agressive in their defense wich can be dangerous for some players, the climate, the quality of the pitch, etc
    Now they are playing in their home so they MUST WIN because i don't get it how they dominate and control spain, Portugal, Belgium and still lose to South Africa or Benin
