Hi Joey, just to clarify things - UART is a Universal Asynchronous Receiver / Transmitter protocol - so not a "tool" 😀That would be a utility/application that uses this protocol to communicate with hardware. Cheers and a happy new year mate!
Happy new year everyone! Joey whenever I reball an ic and not every hole of the stencil gets the same amount of paste i just use a sharp tool to make the balls flat and be able to reaply more paste where it needs more, hope it helps!
First off love your videos and enjoy watching day in and out. I repair graphics cards and other pc components for a living, and I just thought I would make a mention of this; the heat tolerance on Samsung chips is usually around 240 degrees C, depending on the thickness. I would suggest preheating for these jobs and using lower gun heat. (240/240) Even when your repairs are successful its unlikely they will last long before dying again unless this is done. Thanks for the entertainment!
Good job, that was a good episode for you in terms of profit! I was amazed as well as to how accurate UART was given that it hasn't been that accurate before. You got this, Joey! :D
22:37 "I wish I had it USB-C for my PC because it would be a lot better for me to have it on OBS rather than use my phone" This is why you purchase a phone with USB-C, which is... a universal connector! Pretty sure the iPhone 15 and 16 series has USB-C if you really must go Apple, otherwise most Androids have had USB-C for years now (and the Infiray P2 Pro supports Android phones as well).
joey the p2 pro thermal cam. if yours is the old apple/lightning you can buy adapter cable to usb C so you can use on your pc. with a third party software.. works perfect
Nice reballing job, Joey :) I am practicing this on old junk ram sticks and some J-bend chips. I use plenty of flux, I move my hot air gun around to spread the heat, but the boards are still popcorning. What am I doing wrong? And even though I use plenty of flux, leaded solder, sometimes my chips' legs don't reach their pads. Why? Any advice would be appreciated.
Joey, I'm confused about the spreadsheet... The Net profit formula doesn't look like it takes eBay fees into account. The estimated column does however. If you look at the lines where estimated sale price was higher than actual you should see estimated profit is higher than actual and yet it isn't.
i remember one of northridge fix´s videos was just replacing a cap on 12v rail that shorted it to ground. funny how these caps end up making the console dead.
Happy New Year, I wish you this 2025 to bring you a lot of health and success, even more good moments with your loved ones, and only green fields in the TH-cam series 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
-- Spoiler Saver A double win today! Really nice! The digital PS5 unfortunately sold bad.. the PS5s of this episode sold prettty well. Sally is really happy today.
It's not only happening if you are using it not dry enough, but also if you push down the paste too hard. You're pushing it all over under the stencil, and when you heat it up, it will spread everywhere. In my opinion, you are pushing that flux way too hard. Just ensure there's some in all the holes. I like to use my finger for it. Find it easiert to control the amount.
Hey m8, I might be revisiting Southampton General for another bypass at some point, if you ever have time on yer hands and want to chat stuff (done my first repairs on a Commodore Pet way back in groovy times) would appreciate someone to talk to as last time was a nightmare lol Be later in the year, last time did try and get Ally Law to come and visit but he was in the US at that point and got bored pdq lol I was stuck in a ward full of old geezers (I am nearly 60 but ppl say I am more like 40 in looks) who didn't like games, didn't like computers, didn't like trains and certainly did not care for 3 wheel vans or tales of a south Londoner wheeling and dealing back in the day. Its funny in the 80's and 90's I was like Super Del, then my daughters were born and I became more like Rodney and today ppl say I am Uncle Albert AND Grandad... As for three wheel vans, I am in the process of fitting a proper KITT strobing LED kit with the woo woo sound into the intake grille of my 3 wheel van which is dirty yellow by happenstance and has been the most awesome of vehicles I have ever owned, ever fancy a drive in one let me know as you are but a drive away over in the next county to Daarset here :D
alright joey, why dont you post out via royal mail 48 hour tracked its only like £6.50 for a console, it saves the buyer money and more chance of profit on your items
Your esitmated profit and net profit seems messed up. Estimated sale price is £250 with estimated profit of £69.51. Actual Sale price is £240 you your profit is £82.36?? How can something sell for less than the estimate price yet bring in an profit higher than the estimate?
This is the difference between knowing enough to be dangerous and actually knowing enough to fix the device. Nicely done Joey!

I’m pretty sure he was saying he wishes his PC had a USB-C port. And that he has to use his phone because it does have USB-C
Could probably just add a port onto the rear of the pc (expansion slot area)
Even better if he has a spare usb 3.0/3.1 header on his mobo
All the best for the New Year Joey.
Hey Joey I'd love to see you fix up some gameboy colors or advances since those are my favorite repairs personally!
Woo Hoo and Happy New Year!

Good day!
Welcome to 2025, sorry to see that you did not get to 100K by 2025 but only 10.1K to go. Lets go for gold you have earned it,

I HAVE SEEN THAT BUG BEFORE ?
Part of me feels you'll be seeing the 2nd one again... Not to be too negative but I wonder if it's a lingering problem that rears its head later on.
Annoying that they didn't make the ram upgradable/easily fixable, doubt many people could have fixed this

Estimated is before fees. Actual price is after fees.
