2 things: COUPON CODE and info on rocking blade. OTKGB2099 - that is a GearBest coupon code to get price $20.99 USD EXPIRES on April 1st After I had edited the video I cleaned the knife, sharpened the blade as I like it, and put the knife back together and guess what? CON #2 Up / Down Blade Play was GONE. The issue was fixed by simply cleaning the knife.
I took the knife apart a second time and re-assembled it and again the problem with the UP/DOWN blade play was gone. So there was some sort of issue most probably with assembly at the factory, but not a real ongoing problem. NICE!!
Well I don't know how I fixed it on this knife. I just took the knife apart, cleaned it and re-lubed it and the rock is gone. BUT there are other knives that have a more serious issue and there are several remedies online that I need to test and find out which works - if any.
After watching you reviews I bought the f11 two weeks ago and just last week I bought the f13 it was the last one on Amazon. Great knives. I thought you could not buy this from gearbest and import it into Canada because of the flipper I'm confused. My f13 didn't have any movement
You can buy flipper knives from ANYWHERE, the issue is that CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) doesn't want Canadians to import these knives even though they are fully legal to own in Canada. It is not the seller to blame, it is CBSA 100% It turns out CBSA is busy, so they tend to catch only a minority of the shipments of flipper knives as they come in but if they take yours away then it sucks big time. Please watch my videos about this issue and join the legal fight to force CBSA to follow Canadian law. Please watch this video and any other on my channel when you search for CBSA - th-cam.com/video/AheSx6F8l1k/w-d-xo.html
Gosh, just when you think manufacturers get that folks want to maintain our knives.... They make it harder to disassemble. Good tip on the drive Grip stuff. Thanks.
The free spinning pivot isn't even just a budget knife thing. It is odd some knives are made that way and others are made with locked pivot pins and from the same manufacturer at the same price range. I just don't understand why they don't make all folding knives with fixed pivot pins to make it safer to take the knives apart.
They should all have shipped from the factory with the pocket clip placeholder in place. I am happy that Ganzo does that, and it makes me wonder why so many knives that cost a LOT more don't ship the same way.
Yes, even plain stonewash - without the blackening is said to help with corrosion resistance, BUT I have not evidence for that, it's just something I have heard.
The FH11 is the same basic model but with G10 and the pocket clip can be Right or Left on those. best store for those is here: www.powercutlery.com/search?q=FH11 You can get 5% off Ganzo knives there with code: cce (but you can only use the code once - and this store is in California, so fast shiPping)
TwoSun makes a COMPLETELY LEFT HANDED titanium frame lock front flipper. Search eBay for "Twosun Left Hand". There is one up for auction right now. The blade length of 73mm in the description is probably the cutting edge; from the tip to the handle it's more like 86mm.
Blade play can happen on ANY knife. I have had over 100 different Ganzo knives and this one example is the only one that had blade play. over 99% of the FH13 models that are made do not have the same blade play issue, I just had to mention it because the one I had in my hands had that issue. It's like any product in the world, the odd time one that should have not left the factory does, but that doesn't mean that every copy of that product has the problem - most are good.
That handle looks like someone took a stiff wire brush to it after it was stonewashed. Nice looking knife though, might have to start saving up the old disposable income , haven't got to renew the FAC again this year.....
But the lines are perfectly parallel all the way down the blade, so it can't be a manual wire brush treatment, there would be more random lines. I believe it is a machine sanding that they probably did before the rest of the black acid wash treatment. In any case, no matter how they did it, I like how it looks.
This knife is too simple, l like basic shape but this is too basic. If that will be look more similar to hisatsu crkt then will by nice knife. Real D2 ?? Nice rev thanks Jake 😎
Love the shape of that knife, the finish, not so much... I know you're a fan of black wash, I, for myself think it looks used and dirty, to each his own !
Exactly, there are so many knife finishes because we have so many tastes. So if you like stonewash get the FH12, or if you like G10 then get the liner lock version FH11
I wonder about one thing. Steel. D2? Really D2 or "chineese D2" that with real D2 has nothing in common? I own, for an example TwoSun with D2 or fantastic Manly Peak with D2 steel and i know how hard it can be, even using diamonds to sharpen it, but in "chineese D2" i dont simply believe, the exeption is TwoSun.
"Love them knives" channel had send it to test it in the lab facility on several of the ganzo model.. its real d2 and HRC is at 61-63.. its above than what ganzo claiming on their product description (60hrc).. i got the fh41 model and the edge retention is so great, had tried using it to cut open coconut and it still can slice through paper after that. for sharpening i dont see any difficulty with the d2, even have reprofile the edge to 17degree using my cheap edgepro clone sharpener and chinese diamond stone and finish with 3k grit ruby stone.. it still easy compare to when i do to the m390.
There's something about this knife that really draws me in. Going to have to grab one.

one of the best knife in ganzo history!
I do like it a lot too.
What??! 🙃
Thanks for the great review. Like always you do a hell of a job.
Thanks
Another good video Jake!...and yes, I would love to see how you fix that blade rock...mine has the exact same issue.

@Redbull 1 Ganzo, Kubey etc are no longer selling in Canada.

Good morning friend! I would like you to explain to us how to correct the play on the axis of the knife. Thanks and best regards!!
I hear you. I will work on it.
Thank you very much and greetings, although I see that it is already solved when dismantling and reassembling the knife. Thank you!!
Such a elegant knife for more civilized times 😉
I just bought 5 of them! I hope they don't have the empty lefty holes.
They should all have shipped from the factory with the pocket clip placeholder in place.
I am happy that Ganzo does that, and it makes me wonder why so many knives that cost a LOT more don't ship the same way.
Does the coating help in protection against rust and corrosion?
Yes, even plain stonewash - without the blackening is said to help with corrosion resistance, BUT I have not evidence for that, it's just something I have heard.
This is a knife that would make a great shootout with the RUIKE p-801 sb blackwash.
Hmmm. maybe. I sometimes think about doing shootout videos but I don't do them very often. I will have to re-think my reasons why and why not.
Please help, what model should I look if I choose to purchase the one with reversible pocket clip? Thank you.

i know it has been a long time but is that issue fixed with playing blade ?

A versão SS tem clip reversível ?
Não, o clipe nos modelos SS está apenas de um lado.
No, the clip on the SS models is only on one side.
rock lock fix video please
I hear ya.
I have one, but it didn't come with the left handed option, will it be a copy?
No. On first knife have no for left handle.
