i have been driving 45 years. 4 million miles owned many cars vans and bikes. our 2020 leaf is the best car i've ever owned. we have 2 ice cars aswell.
I just got a 2021 62kw one few months back to use as a taxi in Dublin. Perfect for my needs. Do about 140-160kms a shift, thats bout 40% of the battery. Dash is abit dated but as he said it has everything at your finger tips an more. Love seeing honest reviews an this is 1 of them
Great video. Your dad is awesome! He’s bang on with his review. I like his comment when he said less is more. I’m with him. Today’s cars are meant to dazzle with loads of features that not necessary. Just money in automobile manufacturers pockets. Well done, and well said, dad.
Great video with dad. Very informative, I just bought this car to teach driving in. I’m a bit nervous and unsure but your dad answered many of my questions. Due to start giving lessons in the leaf once dual is fitted. I always had petrol cars. After watching the video I’m really impressed. 🙏
LEAF (even the e+ featured here) is not a long-range EV but it's great for commuting and 'normal' driving of up to 200 miles in a day. If you really want to do 300+ mile journeys regularly, look at an EV with CCS charging and a larger usable battery capacity. LEAF is great if you can charge at home overnight and only need about 100-200 miles range each day. Then you don't need to worry about pulic charging at all most of the time.
Our 2nd car is a 30Kw/hr Leaf. Actually we do 99% of our miles in it so it's become our 1st car. Charge at home using Solar panels. I've put petrol in the other car TWICE in over 2 years. Chademo charging is its weak point though. There just aren't enough Chademo chargers, and they'll disappear altogether at some point. When we finally trade it in I'll get a used Kia E-Niro, which I think has taken over from the LEAF as the most sensible option. Nissan really dropped the ball with their EVs. From being the only choice, they really don't have an option that interests me today. The Kia EV3 just raised the bar in this segment.
Refreshing to listen to and watch a real driver starting a review with an open mind, instead of the Telegraph and Daily Mail approach of what outlandish thing can't be done in this car. I wonder if your Dad sat down and did the calculation - I can do 700 miles in one tank in my Tiguan, which costs me £120 to fill up. If he plugs in at home, and buys his electricity from the UKs favourite provider, his fuel costs will work out at about 2p a mile, so his 700 miles would cost him only £14. So, if he does 7000 miles a year, his fuel costs will be £1060 less per year. Leaving aside the lower servicing costs, and the fact that he's not poisoning the driver behind, or wrecking the climate for his grandchildren.
Hilarious non jargon conversation from dad and no pressure about stats. Love it. Have driven petrol Nissans for years, including Z's and now converting to zero omissions.🦘
BEST LEAF REVIEW I'VE WATCHED SO FAR, I'M AN OLDER GUY AND YOUR DADS OPINION'S CHIMED WITH ME.

You have a great Dad and he is a great driver as well.
We have one 10 years old, it is much the same on the inside, still just as good as new.
Your dad did a fantastic job reviewing the Leaf. I’d like to see him review a bunch of EVs.
You two gel together so well....and make reviewing the Leaf so much fun! Your dad had me laughing from start to finish. Well done!

or get a hybrid for long journeys.
329 miles? In a parallel universe maybe… 229 is definitely doable.
yes, reviews really should stop quoting WLTP range for EVs..
Excellent review. Careful your dad is going to have your job.

Enjoyable review. Very funny. By the way though, I believe the regen braking does cause the brake lights to come on.
It is Japanese yes dated in design and tech but it will be reliable if looked after! Think about that aspect.
Love my leaf best decision I made
Nice review.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I am old guy... just bought one and talk with all the old guys I see who own one...
Did he get one?
LOL 5:58 AWKWARD!
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😂
😬
"Bloody Cyclists" haha, awesome!
Well...did he go electric???
Did your dad get a Leaf?
EVs are a joke in US, probably better in UK, as long as they don't burst in flames. Hybrid better here. It would cost $3.70 to charge it here...

More propaganda for scalextric cars.
