I’ve been playing against this deck the past few days my fairy deck was going to war one game for almost 25 turns. It’s a good deck but once I add the right counters to rid that whole back row
I've actually won against it with RB I set the trap as soon as I see them summon the white or red dragon in mp I pop them unless they have the Field spell they go battle I start activating my monsters effects to shuffle back into the extra deck and start filling my board up lol

The weaknesses of that deck are Battle Fader, Swift Scarecrow, Negate Attack, Waboku, Threatening Roar, Hallowed Life Barrier, one day of peace, morphing jar 2, Karma Daruma, electromagnetic turtle, mirror force cards, buster blader, Scareclaw
How I've learned is this Red summon White, White Add Kaimen, then attack then Synch into Bident, Bident bring back white, Kaimen for Green (I see him as BLue but that's not relevent) Green bring back Red, that's 3 attacks, Synch for 10 using the SYnchro 7, Trancendance Attack, Bring back Lv.7 attack, Sync for Trident Dragion, pop the other Syncro and the other card you control, attack 3 times then Trancendance come back for one more attack
I built this in TCG cause I opened two Paidra out of the box months ago so figured I would spend 15$ more to get the last one and then build the rest. With Trident Dragion reprinted and getting it for 12$ I cannot wait to learn how to use it.

Many of the card names are references to Riichi Mahjong, aka Japanese mahjong. Tenpai is the state of being one tile away from winning. A lot of the other names, like Kaiho (which comes from Rinshan Kaiho) are different types of wins/win conditions.
After going to platinum tier 2 as a casual with cyber dragons, since pack release I get 2-3 wins, just to be bounced back again. Now I’m close to having all the needed cards for the deck out of pure frustration and feel bad despite it.
I think a card people are sleeping on in Tenpai is Clear Wing Synchro Dragon generic lv.7 synchro that has 2 negates. The first one negates lv.5 or higher monster or higher monsters on field and destroys them if they activate a effect and the other can negate any monster effect that targets a lv.5 or higher monster you control. This is really nice since a lot of the better Tenpai decks play Fenrir in some capacity meaning that they still have a lot of room for non-engine but its not just this deck that can't set up powerful going first boards. I think what you did is smart but I would probably make a similar list that replaces Rindbrumm with Clear Wing Synchro Dragon for those games where I think I can get away with making it and I have the Fenrir to make it even better. The secret Guu for Tenpai is 2 Blaster and 1 Gold Sarcophagus because Blaster destroys a card, its a lv.7 fire dragon body, and when its banished you can search for 1 fire dragon monster. It can be Genroku if you couldn't use the field spell to add it that way you still have Kaimen to use during the battle phase this allows you plays where you can play through more hand traps than ever before an making it possible to play somewhat easily without the field spell. This deck can play through 3+ hand traps and OTK without the field spell if your smart enough to know how meaning that they could ban the field spell but as long as people have the brains to make up for the loss of the field spell it'll still mean nothing just like people are saying Tear is rogue but as long as we keep getting cards like Phantom of Yubel and Blue-Eyes of the Heart and engines like the Fiendsmith engine it will be beatable by board breakers but near unstoppable if un-hit by them. This has always been the way things have gone. People will always try to make decks broken no matter how many hits those decks receive from Konami until Konami gets sick of banning cards and answer them with cards like Fuwalos, ban the whole archetype, or leave them alone until they get to out of hand again. Our desire to win when we have a goal like being number 1 in tournaments will often times lead us to play in ways that feel unfun to our opponents and we will be fine with it until we get sick of playing certain decks and play something else.
A decent counter deck to this deck is a Ghoti deck or any deck that can interrupt and banish in the same turn. Crazy enough, Valkyrie decks also run good defense against this deck as well

I would have been much happier if they had done this tempai mechanic to the Battlin' Boxer deck. The theme of boxers punching hard would have been more accurate
If people want to play Tenpai blind second then I’m just bringing out good old Labrynth. Though I’ll probably also still play Hero and just throw mask hero Divine Wind in it.
Sangen summoning is a toxic card to counter toxic hand traps lol, the ''bad'' thing is most players play this deck now in master duel :P , and is easy to play too. They only con it has is that most of the cards are URs which makes sense. I very like the aggressiveness
Would a Buster Blader deck work against Tenpai? While Tenpai is hot in Master Duel it might be funny to run a Buster Blader deck for a bit. But I'm not competitive enough to know if it would actually be effective. I'm guessing Tenpai might be good enough to bypass a deck at Buster's level even if they're dragons.
Reading the cards, my Amazoness Swordsoul deck might actually beat them. Since the syncros destroy, my Amazoness are protected with empress or augusta on the field. And pet liger king with 4900 attack with both pendulums on field, and opponent has to attack pet liger king and can't attack my other monsters, tenpai will just destroy itself. Then with united we stand on my field. queen prevents cards from being destroyed by battle too, and onslaught banishes monsters that battled end of damaged step. I'm not afraid of tenpai as I used to be seeing how it's played and reading the cards lol. Plus 3 copies of spooky dogwood in my deck. If it summons that much I'll be alright

Tenpai is fine really. The toxic part is playing against their 20 Handtraps/Boardbreaker...without them you cook them just like a Floowandereeze deck xD It just show what really rules the Meta right now, and it's not Tenpai...Cyclone, Ash or Gamma and you're fine.
@@EverImportant you just need to review your deck building and adding some stepples. Little tip, if you activate Daruma canon on Tenpai board with their field spell, it will banish all the board. Tenpai isn't invicible like a SEFK, just hit their weakness.

@@sahilm483 Threatening roar/Wabakou (chainable so lightning storm/heavy storm/duster isn't an issue) Battle fader Mst/Cosmic cyclone (risky due to the back row wipes this deck plays) for their field so you use veiler/ghost cards/imperm etc There are loads more, but it depends if you want to play stuff that doesn't care if your back row gets blown up Buster blader instead of 20 hand traps (anti synergy but stops them completely)
I feel like traptrix shuts this deck down if it goes first, at least in my games. ( high gold, low plat.) If traptrix gets arachnocampa and rafflesia out it is really resilient to board breakers, which it seems Tenpai is full of

The issue is that your counters for Tempai don't help against the other meta decks.

Because it's a "stupid" OTK deck. And people don't like that.
And I really hate that people only want to make these two distinctions (smart=midrange, combo; dumb=stall, burn,OTK).
Especially since nowadays almost every deck can OTK
Pure yubel deck is pretty balanced tho but people play it with unchain
I hate both decks.
Tenpai is just a brain dead deck. The fact you OTK with 1 card after using 4-5 breakers is just annoying.
People have been complaining for months, its a brain dead deck a child could play.

Threatening roar/Wabakou (chainable so lightning storm/heavy storm/duster isn't an issue)
Battle fader
Mst/Cosmic cyclone (risky due to the back row wipes this deck plays) for their field so you use veiler/ghost cards/imperm etc
There are loads more, but it depends if you want to play stuff that doesn't care if your back row gets blown up
Buster blader instead of 20 hand traps (anti synergy but stops them completely)
Can't wait for "YCS champion" to be "2 time YSC champion"

Tenpai is not tier zero in the tcg, but will be insanely powerful in a best of one format
I feel like traptrix shuts this deck down if it goes first, at least in my games. ( high gold, low plat.) If traptrix gets arachnocampa and rafflesia out it is really resilient to board breakers, which it seems Tenpai is full of

I like how you are missing. One point of this deck and its big weakness and flaw. It's a good deck profile, but you should talk about its weaknesses as well, not just the strengths
