but her letter was more open than Jihyo's, i feel like it's actually the opposite 😆 Even Jihyo said it herself at 16:45 and she's always been like that, even with herself and fans. She always says she's gonna "overcome" it, so i don't think she lets herself feeling and communicating emotions too much
@@TheVallex if you watch a lot of twice contents, you know that chae is a romantic and the type of person who wrote "cringe" letters (alongside dahyun, according to members) to anyone. so I'm not surprised with the way she writes about jihyo in the letter, that is so very chaeyoung-coded. but expressing feelings with written words and how you communicate it verbally are two different things. and the fact that chae is struggling to use banmal with jihyo for me is a proof that she still view jihyo as an older sister that she finds hard to freely communicate with. she just has a lot of respect for her that she talks to her formally and I found it very endearing. idk, this is actually just my opinion tho😅😅
@@2112look oh yeah i 100% agree with you! There’s definitely some kind of barrier here, but i still think in general Chae is more open with her feelings than Jihyo in general, writing or speaking, but it’s definitely hard for her to drop the honourifics like mentioned many times in this video. I think it’s linked to Jihyo being the leader, but also a personality thing. It’s very cute nonetheless, but i still think Jihyo has trouble being overly emotional with the girls perhaps because of her leadership position. It’s understandable, but i would take Chae’s “cringy” letters anytime hehehe
Glad they paired up these two so they can address Chaeyoung's statement on their relationship in the Jeon Somi interview last year. Come to find out it's only awkward because Chae keeps using honorifics despite Jihyo telling her to speak informally for years 🤣 Love this duo ❤
I think when Chaeyoung uses Honorifics with Jihyo it is a form of respect and friendship but it is also a way to ask Jihyo to care for her. ... it is like saying... I am giving you the honor of leading me because I trust your decisions will be in my best interest so i thank you by reminding you of my choice by calling you unnie. It is like when you let your friend drive the car because you know they will be careful and choose the best route.

Being a successful leader of a 9 member girl group and not having any serious conflicts is a minor miracle. It is a testament to your leadership skills.
There is a reason why companies rarely even attempt it (nevermind be successful). Going from the standard 3-5 to a full 9-10 girl members wildly/exponentially increase the complexity to keep them in check, and the chances of full internal ruptures makes such projects too much of a risk. TWICE was already an anomaly, but having everyone sign again? Unbelievable.

@@rinorvoca9595We do not yet know what will happen after 10 years, they signed a 3 year contract (after their 7 year one ended.) I hope they choose to stay together but I think they only want to continue if all members are happy to do so, so we will just have to wait and see.

That 1 on 1 was so intense because they were arguably the best among the 16 participants. They were ready to debut since the 1st episode. I'm glad they can now talk and laugh reminiscing about that stressful event in their life😂😂

For all practical purposes, Ms Park Jihyo 박지효 has been leader of TWICE for 19 years; TWICE was TWICE day 지효 first entered the JYPE building to stay!
Accepting the Leader role definitely affected her personality, freedom to fully express/open herself and probably isolate her a bit. Conversely it did help Nayeon (the eldest) to be free of such burden and keep her humorous stride, and prevented Jeongyeon (second in age) to be too encumbered with all that extra pressure; so in the end, it was worth the sacrifice. Because Jihyo could take it.

8:04 Chaeyoung needs more recognition for being willing to help other members shine on camera. She often helps others to complete missions, is gracious to hype others actions instead of hers, and add a flair of chillingness and warmth whenever she appears. Even when she protests, she does so in her own very unique way, that is kinda disarming. Like Jihyo, she has helped shape TWICE in ways that is not often easily to note, but it has been so central of its identity.

I'm glad that Jihyo didn't follow through with a proposal to abolish the leader position because, as she said, she doesn't have to go out of her way to fill it; her intrinsic charisma, intelligence and maturity turn her into the cherished and respected leader of the group by default. She will always be known for that

A lot of JiChaeng content after the Somi interview. I appreciate how much they’ve been doing together ever since to get closer: Chae had said Jihyo was the member she was least comfortable with (not to say she wasn’t comfortable. There will always be a most and least).
I think it's because she really sees her as a true leader and that can make anyone uncomfortable at times. And that may also be the reason she still uses formal language with her. but really, it's not to say that they're not close with each other, they look great together! 🥰
I’ve noticed that too. I wonder if Jihyo is actively making an effort to make Chaeyoung feel less awkward around her ever since she heard Chaeyoung said those things about her, or if JYP is forcing them to get along better to dispel any rumors between the 2. Either way I love em both

This episode really showed a lot of deep moments between Jihyo and Chaeyoung. You could tell there was a lot of things they hadn't said before, that they were able to share openly. I actually teared up a little bit just watching their warm admiration and love for each other.

I was waiting for this pairing because I got curious to know more when I remember watching a vlog where Nayeon and Chaeyoung were the guests and she mentioned that she is not that close with Jihyo. Chaeyoung has this laidback character while Jihyo is kind of outgoing but we know there is some untapped potential with this pairing. Both are on opposite sides of the spectrum but you know they would want the other to experience what they are having.
