I am disoppointed because of their stage , pyro , camera angles and production managment. Tony is a billion air , one thing that vince knows better than others is how to make an event remarkable which other companies do not know about it and i want to see aew viewership better than smackdown one day .

They're a long way from putting the world title on him. AEW title reigns are long. Omega is having an incredibly long reign right now, then losing it to Hangman. After that, Punk, Bryan, Cole and MJF are all ahead of him in terms of who Tony Khan will position the belt on, Omega will definitely get a second reign, Moxley will get a second reign, Page will get a second reign, and AEW is also adding Kevin Steen and potentially Bray Wyatt, both who will be positioned ahead of him. If Black stays with AEW for good, he might get a world title in 8-10 years, but do not expect him to be holding the AEW world championship ANY time in the immediate or even relatively distant future.

@@anbu55 A win is a win. If you are old school Arn Anderson, a loss is a win if your opponent has to be stretchered out of the ring while you walk out under your own power. Bottom line is that workers that run feds book themselves to be champs. They don't book themselves to lose. If Cody was the egomaniac everyone thinks he is, he'd be booking 300+ day world title reigns, flipping you all off, and no one would be kicking out of the Cross Rhodes.
I love have Malakai continues to become more of a folklore nightmare. His face is becoming more inhuman, his eye glows red, he's got black mist, it's super cool. This gimmick is badass!
I notice this match he got red fog in his entrance, little bit of red in his trunks and he wore red lenses in his right eye too
I swear he said on a podcast or interview that this slow increase in "evil" appearance is about the darkness trying to escape him. I could be wrong, bit it would make sense that he'd come up with that

I liked Brandi's part. She played her role well. Didn't take away from the match at all and she did better than just being at ringside looking pretty. I think she's going to be great for heel Cody by just doing those interactions here and there. We need valets back in wrestling anyway.

Why is that amazing? Black is a heel and Cody is a babyface. That's fucking stupid, the heel is supposed to get booed. This is the problem with todays wrestling fans, they cheer the guys who are more talented (which Black is more talented than Cody), rather than internalizing their thoughts and letting them get the reaction they're intending to get. The only guy on this fucking show who actually gets the reaction he's trying to get is MJF, SOMEHOW. I don't know how he does it because I know everyone loves him. You're not helping Black be a heel by cheering him, if anything you're gonna make the company think about turning him babyface and watering down his gimmick.

@Meat I doubt Cody thinks it's working with people audibly booing him. AEW has shown awareness to things when they just don't seem to connect with the audience. Brandi stopped that hair collecting gimmick with Awesome Kong when that didn't seem to work with people, so Cody's probably waiting for the opportune time in the story or for an outside factor like his TV series since becoming a heel would probably make that feel weird.

He’s one of those guys that is just naturally a better heel than face. Without the family aspects of him going after his dad’s belt or reconciling with his brother, it’s just really hard to get emotionally invested in him as a face.
I love Malakai's gear, his tattoos, his theme, his look and everything about him
I have always admired Malakai Black's talent. I don't want to appreciate his actions and means of winning his matches but the aura of his presence and the intimidation of his character has manipulated my brain to support him all the way. I wanted to get behind Cody Rhodes but the captivating entrance of Black caught me deep inside. I could not stop myself but favor Black.

Yall forget quick that Cody was giving us some real good matches when AEW was few days in. Dustin match was great, dude took a bad chair shot, Darby match was good, ppl liked the one with Brodie, and cage match was nice too.
Cena had a lot of good matches too. So did Hogan. But some times these guys' ego just makes them believe they'll be loved forever. And that's what Cody gives off. Like he deserves to be the top face but he's SO for the business he takes losses. Give me a break. We can still see his ego bleeding through all this. At least Cena has a large enough, young fanbase that it makes sense to keep the gimmick going. Cody just wants to be cheered as a legend in AEW.

I don't think so. In the story line Malakai is clearly the bad guy. He attacked members of the Nightmare Family with heel tactics and last week Cody came to the rescue of Rosario Dawson from Malakai. But the crowd loves Malakai so much that they don't want to boo him. So they booed Cody instead.

This was beautiful; Malakai seems to be becoming an anti-hero fan favorite (those boos for Cody were REALLY clear) and the tension between Cody and Arn could be a sign they know a heel turn for Cody is imminent. If they make him to overbearing guy (who gets all the pyro and such) and starts telling fans and such that they're ungrateful, it could be an amazing heel turn thanks to this program with Malakai.

I don't think they were actually booing Cody. I think that after Arn fell and was being a dick to Cody for checking on him, they just turned on the match and started booing. However they cheered for Malakai after he won. The whole match was ugly and diminished after that botch. Arn is 62 yrs old and shouldn't have been climbing up on the ropes too early in the match in the first place.

I remember when MUTA and Hogan had that match back in the day…MUTA basically sprayed his chest…not gonna lie, I wouldn’t want that stuff in my eyes either, as long as the spot looks fine and the camera angle doesn’t just show too much.
Just make Cody heel and keep him there, since AEW dropped people talking about Cody the next HHH and people eating it up. What you want the man to slot himself in the B-list? I'd love for Cody and Brandi to turn heel...I think it'd be GREAT television, but with their new reality show I don't think it will happen anytime soon unfortunately.

PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND ONE COMMON SENSE! cody is the one whos basically helping every storyline build uip, if he wants he can give all wrestlers okayish stories and promos and turn himself heel and give himself all promos and best stories.. instead he takes the bad ones and gives the good ones to the other talent!
I think it's more like people started to see a formula. New guy debuts, destroys Cody, Cody leaves for a while, comes back and beats the new guy clean. And in this match people really didn't want Malakai to lose.

I think part of it is that since he dropped the TNT title his feuds and stories have been kind of crap until this Black thing.
Feuding with the Factory and not put any of them over was a miss imo. Looked like a feud designed to make him look good. And the promo befote the Ogogo match didn't help either.
Probably the TNT title run beating so many people also didn't help.
I don't hate Cody but he hasn't been babyface beginnings of AEW since he lost to MJF. He started acting more cocky, his promos had less babyface fire and a more obnoxious tone.
I feel they should have shown the expanse of the arena more to actually let people know how big this is.
This match from start to finish was just weird. I did like how the crowd completely rejected Cody and cheered for Black. If that doesn't make him turn heel than I don't know about him.

Dude is a midcard wrestler and unless they reneg on the stip, he's banned from even competing for the world title. Do you remember John Cena? I do. John Cena would've never jobbed to Aleister Black. Not in his prime, maybe he would as a once a year part timer, but it certainly wouldn't be Black squashing him, and then coming back with a rematch where Black wins again. Cody's never even been AEW champion. 😂
What the hell was Arn thinking of getting down from the right that way? I know it’s part of the story of the match but I laughed way too hard at that.

He was on the wrong side of the ring. Cody broke kayfabe and even pointed to right side for his spot, so Arn’s slip wasn’t on purpose; Cody even had to stall a little bit to give Arn some time to get back up.
I think it was supposed to be him just trying to get around the ring post to the other side of the ring. I don't think him falling (the first time) was intentional, I think that may have been a shoot considering it didn't really play into the match and he got back up and got onto the ring before getting knocked right off again.
I felt bad for Arn in that moment. Hopefully, he is fine after that.
He clearly was on the wrong side to begin with. So he tryed correcting it but ends up falling on his ass but I'm glad they didn't take to long to recover from it.. the show must go on. Why didn't he just climb down then back up on the other side. Would of been better than trying to balance in the corner..lol

Don't think he's underrated, just think people are getting a little tired of him. That lengthy dumb feud with QT & Ogogo did him no favors. Heck it didn't even put the Factory over.
@@yosoyflips Why would he put Factory over? He already put over plenty of people he faced. If he lost every single feud he was in, he would be a jobber and beating him would mean nothing. Imagine if Black defeated, let's say, Fuego. What would that prove ? A jobber can't put anyone over. Only a dominant wrestler can put someone over and have it mean something.
@@markocipek7119 I'll rephrase: it didn't GET the Factory over. No one ever bought them as a threat after QT turned on Cody, cuz they were never presented as one. The biggest problem though was that it was a lame story that took up way too much time, and Cody was at the center of all that.
Despite the hiccup of Double A (hope he was alright), the match conclusion was good and is setting Cody Rhodes on a possible heel turn since the fans have been booing him a lot. Save the 3rd round for Full Gear.
Have him lose and go full heel. He's already giving off a Homelander tease.
I was at this show live last night and he seemed to take a pretty hard fall to the floor and appeared to be in legit pain for a few moments. Glad he was able to get back up and continue the angle.

Should have stayed down from the legit fall and shoved Cody when he tried to see if he was alright. Instead of doing the second fall from collision. Would have flowed better.

Man, Black seems to be working or his character very very intricately. Use of “Black” mist, unknowingly just became one of a signature to his heel gimmick.
Blacks character is so unique, his entrance so damn good, his aura so mysterious, his fighting skills so much fun to watch…Black is over as hell. We all love Malakai Black. Lets hope AEW will book him against Darby or Miro. It’s not that Malakai needs a belt. I think Malakai doesn’t even care about winning a championship other than corrupting and destroying people.
I'm more than okay if he stays in the midcard scene for a while and just gives awesome stories. He's got a super high ceiling and can do so much.

@Google Wack man c’mon Omega is a legend on the mic, inside the ring, great acting ability. Punk had a 5* match and many others like Lesnar’s best match since his comeback. Omega vs Danielson today is way more important then Roh’s triple threat shouldn’t even argue.

Dynamite could be interesting - I'm pretty sure "laying hands on an official" is meant to come with punishment within the AEW setting, and it happening to Cody is something that should get a mention on Dynamite next week.
