Barça is known for having a good youth intake, while Real likes to spend cash in superstars, so would be interested to see a youth to gold with Real and a big spend mentality with Barça.
Only issue is how broke Barca is and their horrible debt. I had a Barca save where I couldn’t even sign my youngsters because of the wage issues.

I love the non-league climb as much as the next FM player, but there’s just something so satisfying about taking giant clubs struggling with wage bills, money, aging players, etc. and turning it around. Just did a similar thing with Man U!

A scouting tip i picked up a few months ago from Zealand - don't add regions to your scouting focuses. Even with incredible scouts and maxed out budgets and facitiles, scouts noticably find me more quality players from all regions when they're not constrained by focusing on one area. This is rather unintuitive, and makes the game feel broken lol
Also, lower the minimum potential your scouts are looking for. 3 star PA for Barca would be a star player for any other la liga team
So just search for world, 2.5PA and age filters?

I love how even tho Fati had so many poor games before database started and then he got injured in Brighton, he still somehow always becomes better, more consistent player than Yamal ever did in my saves

Hey Luke would love to see you guys do a Santos rebuild now that Neymar went back to the club.
It's been 12 years since he left Santos and his comeback is huge, Santos just got promoted from the 2nd division and the team is really struggling. It would be awesome to see you guys take over and rebuild one of the greatest Brazilian clubs.

9:12 I think its fine to play the players you already start with, you're still following the method in terms of transfers. You still want the club competitive and you're better with him than rotting in the reserves depreciating in value and likely causing internal team issues.
You guys need to do a youth to gold in that 98/99 database. So many real regens its amazing
You should do a Y2G rebuild more often... clubs like AZ Alkmaar, Atalanta, Roma and many others.
I know they are time consuming for you as a creator but they are much more fun at thus stage of FM24 because (as you said in this video) the signings can become quite similar in every rebuild you end up doing now

That had to come as Barca is known for promoting young talent winning titles with homegrown players. Youth to gold could definitely be used by the club in the transfer market nowadays, with limited resources and a history of massive transfers that turned into blunders.

Got an idea for a challenge based on nuzlocke style for Pokémon games. What if you took one of the current bottom 3/newly promoted teams of the prem, played until you won the league and/or a cup with them. Then restart and do the same with the other two teams but you can't use any of the players you used in the previous saves (including that teams players, not just new signings) maybe even no tactics can be repeated.

Luke you can also find young talents if you go to players in range put players from 15 to 18 and put 500 minutes at least played in every league (you dont need to have them all playable)hope this helps 😊
Love the series but as you mentioned, it's getting boring buying the same wonderkids who are already in the game. Maybe a sim for 5 or 10 years and then finding a club in the top 5 years that's in the worst position and seeing if you can get them to win their respective league?

While I've got your attention, please do a video series with your dad as Forrest vs Villa trying to surpass Liverpool's CL record. I know it might take a while but it would be an epic series. If there's any way of dropping legend players into the standard roster (without other clubs having them) you could spin the wheel a few times each transfer window to speed up the challenge. Go on boy, you know it makes sense 😉
In my opinion you should have used vitor roque in the beginning since he has a load of potential if he is given playing time
I can recommned the feature from workshop that gives players a random PA. Both for young and older players. It gives the games a bit of difference
On my Barca save, I managed to sell a few players and then I just relied on wonderkids such as Gavi and Pedri. I loaned Yamal out because I don’t like playing wingers, though also re-training him to be a striker.
I sold Raphina and Frenkie in season 1 lol.

Luke you could try a youth to gold with Porto too, I mean it would be cool as our financial situation is just... u know. Also Porto doesn't have the same level of academy as Benfica or Sporting so its a little bit more difficult. Btw love ur vids

From experience in my current Wolves save - Noah Darvich becomes an amazing player, definitely worth bringing up.
Vitor Roque becomes world class as a striker too, he's one you should be able to very easily rest your hopes on. Bought him in a YTG I did a while back and he was immense.

I've noticed a few things and would like to comment:
Your scouting is completely off. If your players have a current ability of white stars, they will never be Barcelona Champions League standard. When scouting, you need at least 1 or even 1.5 current ability stars and 4-4.5 potential ability stars to meet the standard for winning the Champions League.
Your scouting isn't effective because even after scouting, your players have too many covered stars (unrevealed potential). If your 2027 team can easily come in second place, your tactics are very good. However, if you're playing youth games, you need to give a lot of new players game time. You're focusing on Darvas, and after watching 70% of the video, I find him not to be Champions League-winning material, even if his current output is good.
Never play players with less than 4.5-star potential ability in your team unless they are exceptionally good. Players with lower potential may not meet your standards, so why waste playing time on them?
How about doing a Rangers and Celtic save in the premier league down south?
