***DISCLAIMER: After uploading this, I went back to double check the listing for the little notebooks on the Plum Paper website. On ONE single spot on the Plum Paper Stitched Notebooks, it does say anything about a staple, "bound with durable aluminum staple", which you have to scroll to even find and it's the 4th and last textbox across the page. The photos don't really show the binding very well unless you are zooming in. Under the notebooks section on the top menu bar, these are listed as "PERSONALIZED STITCHED NOTEBOOKS". To me, that means SEWN. Again, very misleading and I think they need to make that way clearer than it is. If you are just glancing, most people would assume sewn books.

I hear ya! lol. I was just out shopping, I started heading to the stationary section, then thought, “dumb ass”. 😂. I’m on a stationary no spend for a while. Btw, I’ve been using your, “hell yes” for foods you want to eat. I really think it’s saving me hundreds of unneeded calories I would have regretted.
OMG girl, I hear you! I totally had a notebook on order already from EC when I filmed this planner regrets. And I was like whhhyyyyy did I purchase another notebook?!!? LOL oh well! Maybe someday I will use them all 🤣🤣
That's so good about the hell yes principle! I could also apply to planners. It really does help curb my cravings and curb that "oh that looks good" mindless eating.
I went through this last year. For 2024, I brainstormed what I need in a planner system and chose my planners based on my needs. For 2024, I’m keeping it simple.
Love that you are keeping it simple. My productivity/actual planning life is the simple part. The playing around for fun and tracking randomness parts are the complicated part. We shall see how it goes ha ha.
I love this video. I think it's very brave. I only buy 2 planners a year and only on Black Friday. A few months before Black Friday, I watched numerous videos, drew several different formats on paper, brainstormed how I would use each section and then made my decisions from there. At first I thought I was being obsessive, but doing that really helped me make a decision. Maybe you could try that? I think my weakness is clothes so that probably helps me stick with 2 planners per year too.
Most of my clothes now come from the Peloton referrals so that def isn't a huge weakness of mine. But I totally get it. I feel like most people probably have something. I don't spend a lot on clothes, salons/spa/beauty treatments (except my hair this past year), shoes, handbags, etc. My big spender category is crafty/planners. Thanks for letting me put it in perspective like that. What a great thoughtful comment!

Ughhhhh... it's just so close to being the one... yet so far! I really wanted to love and use it.
This was a good video for deinfluencing. I went through this phase of my planner journey about 10 years ago and it's so frustrating to spend the money.

I love this video so much! It’s so honest and I think you covered all the kinds of pitfalls us planner lovers can get caught up in. I so agreed with your assessment of golden coil. I was a big GC fan but the price point is way high to keep using them and I found that my perfect layout required two books and even more money! I was done. In addition to this, my big planner fail was thinking I wouldn’t mind carrying around an A5 leather 35mm rings planner as my main carry especially with a job that has location bound days in an office. It is helping inform me of what my style is but regardless they are regrets. Thank you again for sharing!

I just need to accept the fact that EC vertical is what meets my needs and I need to stop trying other brands as I always come back to EC.
I understand that desire to want to find something shinier and better. I am glad that EC works so well for you. I have been in the EC hourly half the year and LOVE IT.

I decided last year to start using the planners that I bought and didn’t use. I am now buying stickers and re dating them. I don’t need a planner for like 5 or 6 years 😂
Ha ha, I totally get it. What a great alternative to use what you already have. If I didn't run this channel, I probably would try to do that as well eventually.
I decided that if i used a.simple planner that cost under $30 all year...then i would spring for an expensive one.

Also, stapled vs sewn - does the stapled not lay flat?
I have one of the Hemlock & Oaks in my Vlogmas giveaways and I am hanging onto the other one.
I don't think they do as good of a job as lay flat as other booklets because of how they are scored in two places to make it look like there is a spine vs just being folded right at the stapled line.
Based on your comment for the grid size of the Take a Note planner, I would just want to warn you against the Yamamoto Ro-biki notebooks that are gridded. The covers are so beautiful and enticing. But the grid is IMPOSSIBLE, even for me with such small handwriting and a user of extra fine nibs. It is TOO SMALL.
Aw man, that stinks! I haven't even heard of this one so thanks for letting me know. I really wish the TAN used a bigger grid. It's such a neat layout.
