Thank you for posting this. I like real-time videos. Videos like this help me learn how to hook up my 1st solar system for my storage building.
You are very welcome, I’m glad you found some value and I appreciate your comment very much, kind regards 👍👍👍
Ive been building out my 1993 holiday rambler travel trailer for off grid living. I e done a lot with the solar power system and I too just upgraded one of my solar charge controllers to the victron 150-70. My old powmr charge controller was decent but the victron stuff is in a class of its own
Victron really does have it sorted, makes more power thank to its ability to track across the surface of the solar panel and if you have other victron equipment you can network them together so they all work together to gain the best performance. 👍👍
Great video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Those cheap controllers can work sometimes. I had one on my old van that worked flawlessly for 5 years. I put the same in my new van and was getting all nonsense out of it, like apparently solar charging at night. Much better to fit a decent branded one.
I think the customer just wanted victron as that what i fitted to his last motorhome. fit and forget with no error lights. Thanks for watching and a great comment , kind regards👍👍👍
Very nice, i just installed my Victron 100/20 charge controller. In the battery drop down what would i select for 5 RV/ Marine lead acid in parallel? Have a great day and be safe. Ps what charging parameters would you recommend using?
Remember to enter the charging profile for the AGM
Or adjust charging parameters correctly to battery👍
This was filmed over 6 months ago and was set up off camera , thanks for watching 👍
Is there a recommended air gap to be provided above the controller?
If the mppt gets hot from over working they thermal down then ramp back up, as long as the heatsink is able to vent then its fine, theres no real answer as some say not to mount on wood as it can act as thermal conductor, but as far a victron is concerned 10cm under the mppt . The manual says "Observe a minimum clearance of 10cm under and above the solar charger for optimal cooling. " but this is not always possible in some cases.
Hi, thanks for the video. If I may ask, can you please share your App setting for the AGM battery, much appreciated
Hi there unfortunately I can’t because they are all set up for the lithium now and are completely different. Sorry 🫢
@@ProjectCamper no problem 😉
Hello, there is a 20amp mppt charge control. Is it efficient to connect 4 50 watt panels in parallel or in series with 44 volts in 2 groups, the system is 12 volts?
If you go on the victron website there is a solar calculator and loads of resources on there to match the controller to a solar array 👍
@@ProjectCamper thanks
Iv got a 410w solar panel and the same charge controller 100/30 do I need to upgrade battery cables
It had a 100w panel before
Ive alway looked at the maximum cable gauge that can be fitted, that way its completely future proof and the cable is never streesed or possibly get hot.
Heard not much room to fit a bigger line .
Hi great 👍🏿 video. How much power can this SC handle. I have that same one.
100VOLTS AT 50AMPS 👍
Hello Sean I sent you a emal cheers Sean that video was very well presented Victron should be getting on board and sorting you with something you are promoting there product I for one will be purchasing Victron equipment for my van build 👍 hopefully chat soon 🍻👌
Hi Stephen, I haven’t checked my emails for some time, I will check them out in the morning, would be nice if Victron came up with something, but to honest there just the best and I think really well priced apart from the inverter’s, there just way overpriced. Good luck with the build buddy 👍👍
💡 there must be other qauilty products out there for keen price on Inverters you have really good knowledge of Campervan electrics many thanks I did a video on my. TH-cam channel for my Citroën Dispatch have you been on any walks lately cheers 🍻
Great video thanks. Did you ground your controller? Cheers
No,not in a vehicle 👍
@@ProjectCamper Thanks. I was unsure.
How many watts of solar are you using?? And how many solar panels?
410 on the van and a 400 folding panel 👍
What type of screwdriver do you use
Snap on 👍
@@ProjectCamper but what shape head?
@@michaelsrowland Flat 👍
What charge setting you have for your Li battery? Can float be shut off? Only use bulk and absorb?
Victron has a setting for the AGM battery that was fitted in this video for the motorhome,so used that setting and just tailored it to the customers needs.
@@ProjectCamper cool.I was wondering how what where to set it for Li bats.
Hi,
I've got a Sargent solar controller I'll be changing for a victron. Did you remove anything other than fuses when changing the units please?
@@markeastwood5093 I do it a night.
The 100 20 has a load port which can be programmed when to switch on and off. That can be practicall as a protection for your battery.
I know two 100 20's are more expensive then one 100 30, but something to consider
