Thank you for another professional vid. Concerning the gender: The females take the initiative for "love". I watched generally the females take the lead in daily life although the males naturally try to make themselves interesting at every opportunity. Lots to learn for human life tho 🤣.
Ringneck , 2.5 months, hand-fed. When I pet him, he squats a little, raises his head and spreads his wings, which is typical for a female. Does that mean I already know the gender? I didn't know they get such urges so quickly :D

Hi Ricco and Ricco's Mom.this video is so helpful to determine the males and females in Indian ringneck parkeets.very helpful video.A big like from me and Angel give Ricco a kiss 💋 from me and my Angel have a wonderful day with the adorable Ricco.
Not at all, I’ve seen many female ringneck parrots that are great talkers. If your on Facebook or Instagram you should see lots of female ringneck parrots that talk. It honestly depends on the bird itself.
Hi I'm Lori, I've had different birds through my life my first was a chicken that was hatched in school and I brought her home. I've just got my very first 7month old baby Indian Ring Neck one I've always wanted he is powder blue. The issue I'm having is he preens a lot but he chew on this feathers like something is itching him. I've taken him to an avian Dr. Twice they wanted to treat him for microscopick mites. The first day seemed like it helped but they said he would need an additional to kill adults and new born mites. So after giving him the 2nd round seemed to do ok the first 2 days and started itching so we went back. The Dr. Looked at his wings and said his chewing is making black and grey spots on his wings. So same thing I've never had any birds do this preening yes but not content chewing. He's out with me and my son all day until bed then Dr. said try a schedule with him Did that but he put himself to bed he has toys all different ones to chew on. So I don't know what else I can do to help him. Like I said it's never happend with my other birds & I've had chicken a yellow nape parrokeet love birds that had 2 clutches and I hand raised them. A cockatiel I had for 21yrs. So im at a loss not knowing what to do. Thank you
Oh no so sorry to hear. It’s difficult to say why exactly and what it could be without a vet visit, but you have done that. The only thing that comes to mind is if he had been doing it long enough it could now be more of a habit. Have you asked the breeders or where you purchased him from. My other advice would be to post this on other parrot forums, Facebook groups, anywhere that others may have had a similar experience. I wish I could help more, but I’ve actually never encountered this. Perhaps a second opinion at another vet may be a good idea as well. Hope you can find a solution and help. Please keep me updated ❤️
Unless I get a second one, which I hope to soon when I get more space for a Bigger cage or two, I don't care what my baby's sex is so long as they're happy and healthy 😊
I agree, it shouldn’t matter. It’s a shame that many people prefer the males when the females are equally adorable, in fact I find the females to be much more cuddly ❤️
They also will pins eyes when excited, you just need to pay attention to the rest of his body language. Usually when they are about to bite they will fluff up their head feathers and puff up, this is a warning sign before they will bite.
@@Riccothegreenpiedirn my parrot pins also when I try to talk to him or it wants attention so it means it's a girl it talks while looking at camera but without opening it's feathers in heart shape

Do you find that male ringnecks learn to imitate the human voice more than females? I've never seen a video of a female Indian ringneck talking.

Quick question
Do these count for alexandrine parrots as well ?
I’m not to familiar with the Alexandrine parrots, but they are in the same family so I’d say that it would apply to them as well.
Cute ☺️

Hello, I wanted to ask that how do you find the gender of baby ringneck parrots?
The only accurate way is to get a DNA test when they are a baby.
Thank you for the advice but my mama won't allow me to take a DNA test
Is it true that female are more likely to talk than males?
They both have the ability to talk, but it doesn’t mean they ever will.
Thanks ricco...my parrot is a girl :))
Aww , I miss my female rescue. She was such a cuddle bug 🥰

If is baby parrot then how can we make out male or female
How old is your baby? If they are very young it is sometimes very difficult to tell as I mentioned in the video.
The name of my ringneck parrot is also Ricco
my bird doesn't do any of the male or female behaviors!
How old is your bird?
I have parrot it pins eyes when angry but it also talks while looking at mirror so confusing how to identify
They also will pins eyes when excited, you just need to pay attention to the rest of his body language. Usually when they are about to bite they will fluff up their head feathers and puff up, this is a warning sign before they will bite.

I think mine is a female😮
Mine is a male but do the female mating behaviour
Have you had your bird DNA tested? How old is your bird
Three years and have a ring but do the female mating behaviour why 🥲
My parrot do both
Most likely a female if your parrot does both
Most likely your parrot is a female
