I ran to this video 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ I love your Halloween vibes journal so much!! Awww the little spider is so cute! Its wild to me that a Halloween lover is scared of spiders! Wild stuff YESSS the post card is soo Practical Magic vibes!! 😍🥰 A spiritual baddie! We love to see it 😍 OMG YAAAS cant wait to see the candles you make!! The Halloween Never Ends candle looks so scrumptious almost desert like 🤣 I love the spider web necklace! Its giving goth, Mary Shelly, Carmilla, vampire, slay 12:55 that statement is so powerful!! 👏👏 🧙♀️🧹🦇✨🔮🕯
I will love anything that’s giving a Mary Shelley-Carmilla vibe 👻😍 Your reactions to videos are always so entertaining!! Haha alsoooo would you ever add more hobby pages to your reading journal? Maybe a Stardew valley page spread? 😮 Wait, what would you even track for that? 😂 Nevermind hahahaha
“Bits and bobs” I love that!! 😍 thanks so much for watching! I have a plastic container where I keep all my scraps, cute packaging, travel paraphernalia, stickers, washi tape, etc and I just go through it every time I have a vision for a new page spread. I think you would really love this aesthetic creative outlet!
What a fun collection of different things to remember your adventure. Coven looks pretty spectacular. And just an FYI hyssop is a pretty plant to grow in a container. You just have to keep it trimmed back or it will take over.
That’s so funny you mention container gardening because I was entertaining the idea the other day because somehow spring is convincing me that I have a green thumb? 🤪 I don’t but I may want to build up that gardening skill soon so thank you so much for the suggestion of a useful but beautiful plant!! As always, thank you for being here!! 🥰
I was born in Salem, MA and I have been fascinated by the gothic, the occult, scary things, and witches since early childhood. I call my love of these things my dark gift. I am grateful for it, and I like to think of it as my birthright.
Ahhh how fun!!! Salem is definitely a place I'd love to go shopping 😍 Absolutely love doing a journal spread for your travels. I will definitely be stealing that 🤭 That aura photo is such a unique experience! Great souvenir too Thank you for sharing more about your spiritual beliefs, I resonated a lot with what you said. Especially the importance of finding ways to ground yourself, definitely hits home for me. 🥰 Ugh I want my whole house to look like Coven lol. So gorgeous Also happy birthday friend!! 🎂🎉
Oh you would LOVEEEE the shops in Salem. They even have two really cute bookstores that I saw! A house that looks like Coven? YES PLEASE 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️ And thanks for letting me get all hippie dippie on here 😅 It’s not my usual thing but the coming of spring has me all reflective and sentimental!!
I love the scrapbooking ! I always nab little tokens of memories whenever I can. It's so fun to go back and see it years later - it's almost like it transports me back to that place and time. If I could bottle up nostalgia to take a "sip" whenever I wanted I would!
Yes!!! I love all the (joyful) emotional triggers that come from travel scrapbooking. I think you articulated exactly why I started my hobby journal - to really relish and expand on the experience of whatever I am doing! To just really sit in it and be present and then to be able to re-experience on command!!
Love your journal such a beautiful time capsule and so many amazing souvenirs. Really appreciate your message at the end and wishing you nothing but the best🪻🌙✨🔮
I love your journal! What a great way to capture your travels so you can revisit them from time to time. You also bought some really amazing items. I'm glad you're conquering your fear of spiders. The tarantula is adorable.
The tarantula is adorable!! I am trying to embrace that perspective 😂 I just watched The First Omen and it has TONS of insect imagery. What an effective movie 😅
Salem is one of my absolute most favorite places to go. It’s a bit of a nightmare in September and October but it’s worth it in the end. So glad you got to experience it!! I personally love visiting Blackcraft and The Flying Saucer! There’s a great comic shop across from the latter.
I had such an awesome time in Salem this past March! I have a video where I talk all about what I did when I went there, but in essence, I really loved all of the history opportunities and the East Coast architecture that I don’t get to see as somebody who lives in California. Not to mention all the fun shops!
What a great haul! ❤ I would love to visit Salem it sounds and looks so incredible ✨️ I also keep a travel journal I've been writing and keeping souvenirs from my trips in it and it's so fun to keep creative and look back on. I'm so glad you had a great time in Salem!
Ooooo!😮I love your bullet journal Lauren! Aura photography seems super interesting, I wouldn't mind doing one at some point. As I get older, I've become increasingly aware of how we're socialized as women to be small, to not take up too much space so others feel comfortable, which often results in being dismissed, belittled and oppressed. I want to live in a world where women and other marginalized groups fulfill their full potential and are encouraged to do so. Thanks for showing up Lauren, and inspiring others to do the same!
Ahhh this comment was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this with me because I could not agree more with you. You articulated so much of what I feel! I’m right there with you on that journey! 💜💜💜
Love your little spider! I'm obsessed with the "Jumping spiders" lol. I always try to save them. I had one that lived on the windowsill in my kitchen for the longest time!
This was so informative and I was taking notes for my upcoming trip✍ Did your mom enjoy her tarot reading? Definitely excited to get the aura photo done since that is a huge interest of mine 📸 Your journal is so great and I love your approach on what to include. It's going to be such a great keepsake to look back on at the end of the year 🎃 If you're comfortable with it, I would love to hear more about your year off from teaching as a restorative practice because it is something that has been on my mind a lot. The framing alone is so much better than a traditional sabbatical and its expectations of embedded labor. As always, great vlog!
Oh my gosh you’re going to Salem?! So awesome! I really think you would love it. There’s even more history stuff that I didn’t get to, like historic house tours. And I wish I spent more time in the Peabody museum than just a few hours. You could spend a whole day there! Plus they have tons of restored houses outside the building to view. My mom REALLY loved her tarot card reading! We were trying to find places while we were there that offers this service and we didn’t find anyone who really resonated with us until we got to Ascend! So definitely browse around and see what works for you! This year “off” has been incredibly transformative for me. Let’s definitely chat about it! I’m currently in application mode and it’s like I’m dating 😂 I got honest about what I wanted from my next job and I promised myself I will NOT settle for anything less than what I deserve 🤣
I love the idea of doing an aura reading! Lol the spider is cute! One of my legs is a sleeve full of bugs so people ask me a lot if I love bugs and I'm like NO you wouldn't get it I'd to be able to buy a nice house and just pay someone make it spooky, I would probably use Coven as my inspo haha
I'm so scared of spiders, but I'm getting a bit better. So long as they don't get in my space. They do fascinate me...from afar haha! I loved this video, so much neat stuff that you found at Salem!
Your journal is so fun! I love all of the souvenirs you got on your trip! I can't wait to see some of this candle making you're going to do. I would totally buy a candle from you if you ever ended up selling them. For some reason I just feel like you would make really cute candles. LOL! 🧙
I've been to Salem twice but somehow totally missed seeing the Hocus Pocus spots! I did do the Witch Museum though! I support your efforts to confront your spider fear! I'm always fascinated by the spiders around our house/yard and can hold them so long as they're not too big haha. Love that Halloween candle name, I need it! And that Salem print is perfect! 🕸🖤💀
I love your journal spreads so much. The tarantula spider is amazing, I think they are very beautiful creatures and I hope you really overcome your fear of spiders. You are absolutely going in the right direction since you picked that one out. 🕷🕸👻🐈⬛🦇🌑
Loved seeing what you got and Coven looks so cool! Burke and Hare made me do a double take though, clever company name though so long as the secret isn’t grave digging 😂
Omg so exciting! Thank you so much for sharing! Salem is a dream goals to go to!😂 I don’t know if I ever get to go there but one of my wish list in the future! So many beautiful gorgeous place there with spooky stories and history there so awesome!👍🏽🥰🎃🍁🍂🖤
It was so wonderful that my mom wanted to go and it gave me the excuse to finally visit this magic place. I hope you get to go there at some point. The history alone was amazing 😍
I always love when you show us your journal spreads!! They're one of my fave creative hobbies because I can't paint but I sure can cut, glue and paste 😂
OK. iI'm going to start a spooky journal.. That is such a great idea. I have a ton of stickers. Spiders are beautiful. Snakes scare me! BEautil illustration. A great vlog. Im in my laptop so I don't know how to leave an emoji. Until next time. Keep it spooky.
I wish I was the kind of person who loved snakes because they are everywhere with goth Halloween decor. It just isn't my vibe, sadly. Spiders on the other hand 👻
Do you also scrapbook or collage your travel adventures? 😍✈️
I don't, but I've seen enough junk journals and scrapbooks that I now am saving things to do that at some point!
Such a fun haul!! ✨🦇🌙 I love your journal spread! And what a fun spell! I love it!! And happy birthday! 🎈🕷️🎈🕷️🎈🕷️
Have a fantastic and wonderful day, birthday twin!!! I hope it’s filled with lots of spooky vibes and yummy sushi 🥳🍾💜
