4th-Lectures on: “Fundamentals of Quantum Computation and Algorithms” Daniel Stilck França

These lecture notes are for a 4 lecture course on the baiscs of quantum computing tought in Bilbao in the summer of 2024. Its target audience are mathematicians not familiar with field of quantum computing and who want to have a quick overview of what the field is aobut.
Quantum computing has developed to a mature and diverse field of study at the intersection of physics, mathematics and computer science. As such, it is impossible to cover even a fraction of it in the span of ten hours.
In these lectures, we will focus on the fundamentals of quantum mechanics from a quantum computing perspective and then go through the foundations of quantum signal processing.
This choice of syllabus is motivated by the fact that many modern quantum algorithms can be formulated in the language of quantum signal processing and, as such, this should give a good foundation to the audience members interested in deepening their understanding of quantum computing.
