this is really good for a simple diy the only thing missing would be to reverse the coil to create tension making it want to spring back together. takes the loose coil and tightens it up really nicely.
If you reverse the coil after the initial set it is even tighter. So basically coil it in a mirror orientation, heat, set, and then just reverse the coil without heating again.
I'd spend the $30-$80 for a fancy one that has all the metal stuff, but I just don't want to spend that money lol thanks! I got a couple spare cords I'll try this with.
Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally depends on how far away your PC is from your keyboard on your desk. Some people only have a few feet. I personally left 3ish feet of long cable so I could still plug it in
Mine didn’t work i’m still sitting in front of my desk and trying again, again and again And i can’t it just breaks when i carefully take it out of The rod

@@santamak yes there are videos on how to reverse coil the cable its very easy to understand when you see it.

I know this comment was 2years ago but this was so helpful thanks
Someone on Reddit mentioned using an oven to bake the cable over a blow dryer, I am very curious to try this and would love some more input!
just invest in a hot gun lol safer that way dont you think? lol
@@openpandabook fair point hahahaha
Baking is safe and much easier
I would say baking would give you a very uniform coil!
I saw from another tutorial that if you reverse coil the cable it'll remain more springy and tensioned
This is a really helpful video. Thank you Hipyo Tech for your award here’s a hippo 🦛
Ty for the hippo 🦛
Just wrap it around a curling iron with adjustable temp. J/K but that would be an interesting thing to try.
it works! my keeb looks so fancy schmancy with the coiled cable!
This vid deserves More love
really helpful video hipyo. now I have a coiled cable.(I reversed mine though)
Future hipyo says coils are cringe.
Also it’s so strange not to have that buttery smooth commentary on your vids.

If it works imma try to sell coiled cables on ebay. Thanks for the tutorial. Great job!.
Woah, I got one of hipyos silent videos in my recommended.

What would happen if you oven the coiled cable with the rod without using a hot air blower?
No idea, but my housemates won't let me use the oven to find out
I like my cables now
Hey! nice video man, imam have to try this.
Mans took the rod off a swiffer, guarantee it.
Yoo you got it
Oh yes I needed this tutorial
Do the coils stay in place?
The higher the heat the better they stay in place
Still looks good though 👍🏽
Thanks!
I have everything I need
but isnt the blowdryer gonna harm the cable
You also need to turn it on the other way on the rot
It help me a lot !!!!!!!
I did this on 100 cables
And it works
does it still work without blowdrying it
Can i do this to my normal cable
I wanted to do this myself but my mum thought it would be unsafe afterwards
Is 10ft enough cable for plugging it into the pc?

What type of usb is this?
Does the coiled cord affect the speed or preformance at all?
Nope! They have no affect on the performance!
Could I use a lighter ?? Or nah
Probably not hahaha get a proper heat gun
reverse coil it so itll be tight
i tried to do this and i cut my cable

I added a better video I found just now to the comment.
You should try reversing the coil
I think I'll try another go in January! I have a lot better ideas 😃
Does this work eoth rubber cables?
Probably yes
i was the 400th like :D
my man spelt at least as atleast
ima just put in in the microwave
Did it work?
@@Aura56-ok8ji yeah you should try it. if you put ur custom build in with it it makes the PCB more effective and switches more thoccier too!
@@tanlmfao 💀
@@Aura56-ok8ji Hey, man youre missing out.
@@tanlmfao I'm not
Music sucks
won't the air dryer damage the braided cable?
It won't even tho how hot it is It's fine ig but if it's Max mabye 5-10 minutes
