I’m a psych student at U of Memphis 3rd yr and I’m narrowing down my focus so I really enjoyed hearing from a cognitive behavioral therapist. I’ve watched Myles High pod multiple times and look forward to seeing more episodes!
Generational Curses are very real. Even in scripture we see that “proclivities” are passed down from generation to generation. In the word we see this is normally passed down through the father. BLOOD is such a powerful factor in the choices we make which is why it’s important to exchange out familial blood with the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood allows us to break those curses or patterns. Hopefully that helps.
The idea isn’t about changing your partner, but rather growing and developing together. When I talk about the 40%, it’s not about forcing change but supporting each other to become the best versions of yourselves; just like you would want them to do for you. It’s about mutual development, not control.

I always wonder why people use the phrase generational curse when people made the choice to drink, smoke, and take drugs etc.
💯
Generational patterns or predisposition.

The choices, emotional state, and tendencies of your parents are passed to you through pathology. Transfer of blood.
It’s just passing down of trauma from one generation to another
Making the cogs turn.... Great show!
Good podcast 👍🏾
"Know God and get help" [from God in you. (John 15.5, Acts 17.28)...He is the help..."The Way."]
“ that 40%, make it your project”….hm. Why commit to changing your partner though?
