It’s not anywhere close to being one of the biggest moments in German sports history. It’s just that you don’t know anything else outside of your football/soccer bubble with basketball prolly being your side dish and the German soccer national team currently is doing bad, that’s why you have such an understatement and completely overrated this as an individual . That’s fair though, but don’t claim that the whole of Germans are going to overrate this then.
Sure, it’s nice and great that the German underdog team won against the most successful basketball nation ever… but that doesn’t qualify it to be a big German sports history moment and these players also didn’t become ˋlegendsˋ because of it. Especially not in Germany since basketball is a niche sport in Germany. They will become German basketball legends when they have won the World Cup though or sorta basketball legends when they at least play a great final and narrowly lose.

I’m a Celtics fan and I love seeing Theis playing so damn well throughout this tournament. Despite being undersized, his game is suited perfectly for the FIBA rules and style of play and his chemistry with Schröder is great. The physicality of FIBA helps a lot too as it lets him contest shots with max effort without too much of a fear of foul trouble while in the NBA he gets fouls called on him for breathing on the shooter. Definitely one of my favorite role players to watch
The official basketball rules internationally are the FIBA rules not the NBA ones. This is the reason the same player performs better, different rules.

You are correct. Germany played as a team finding scoring solutions from many players: just like Serbia. Teams that are heavily relying only on one player to do all the scoring, even if he is a big star, end up not doing well on the long run
