  • In this demonstration, you will see how to configure InfoPath form controls to use an external data source, specifically a SharePoint list. You will then see how to bind the control to list data, enabling dynamic change of the form without the need to republish and redistribute the form. You will then see how the manipulation of list data affects the form to which the data is bound.

    This is very helpful and the instructions also work for InfoPath 2010. I have a question though - how do you tell a form to do some action based on what a user chooses? For example, if they choose "window seat" and "kosher" it populates a field telling them which airline would best suit their preferences? I have all the data and now I know how to tie it to the form, but I can't find the magic way to get a form field to display data based on previously-selected options.
