Good evening sir, Today’s motivational quote is “There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.” Editorial is related to the recent virtual meeting of BIMSTEC which was hosted by Sri Lanka. In my opinion:- Recently, the Fifth Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) virtual meeting was convened and hosted by Sri Lanka in which member countries have attended and promised to revitalize the aim of it. It has seven important pillars. India has focused on Security which is one of the important pillars of the organization as it is well aware about SAARC which last summit was convened in 2014. A big concern for the organization was Rohingya crisis which has diluted bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Myanmar. In the summit, India has also underlined to robust the trade connectivity within the member countries of the organization as drastic growth has been seen in the Free Trade agreement between Myanmar and Sri Lanka. India which has boycotted the China-led RCEP, its main motto is to explore an FTA within the framework of a near-home regional grouping. Generally, with the consent of countries, such orgainsations are formed but after sometimes most of the countries either leave or violate the norms that somewhere dilute the importance of the organization. They often lagging behind the target which they promise to achieve. Besides, while forming such organization, strict norms must be added those who often leave without any reason, even they should not be permitted for rejoining. Apart from this, when any emergency comes, immediate aid/relief should be reached to the troubled country with the help of these organizations.
