Yep! I could spend ~$3000+ on a built 5R55S or ~$3000 on a 6R80, computer (enables me to add paddle shifters and a trans brake), high stall torque converter, 1 piece driveshaft, etc. Easy choice.
Please put list of where to get everything shift cable computer with harness trans mount and what drive shaft to use and crossmember costs would be helfull on each item this is gonna be fun
I'll be following this i have a 2008 gt With 5r55s and i want to swap in the truck trans i suppose 5r55s junk wont hold up with supercharge keep me posted with where to buy all parts and shift comuter it will be alot of fun as it comes along cant wait to see how it goes and the prices for everything your car will be sick when it gets done im following you
Save it for the 10R80? The one in my GT would go nicely in my old 2006 GT 5R55S. Called Baumann and the 10 speed controller in not quite ready. Ford already has the stand alone unit out but it's for the Gen 3 Coyote? It's crazy going through the traps in 7th gear with 3.55's in the quarter.
Already got the 6R80 swapped in. They've been working on the 10R80 quick 10 computer for a while, as far as I know they've hit a road block on that one. When I first started thinking about swapping out the 5R first thing I thought of was the 10R, did some research and found US Shift saw they only offered the 6R and decided to do that one. 10R will shift faster but for my purposes the 6R works great.
@@JuryRigGarage checked 3 times all the wires also with us quick shifter technicia.... can be connected to the ECU not properly reflashed in manual and still have one or more features in automatica transmission that cause the failsafe? Did you use hp tuners tu reflash the ECU in manual trans mode or you did in a ford dealer?

The 6R80 is pretty much bulletproof with mid-high HP builds.

What is your stall on the circle D converter?
It is a 258MM Circle D 3B 3500-3700 stall converter with triple disc lockup
What driveshaft you use
Looks like a Mustang gt 11-14 DSS one piece aluminum driveshaft
What all is needed for the swap? I’m looking to use my 3v engine in a race car with a 6r80.

I did the swap and put an us quickshifter 6. I still have a failsafe showing up with p2106 error Throttle Actuator control system. Can you help?
Could be how it was wired into your ECU. I would check the grounds and TPS

This is a 2012 6R80 out of a 5.0 F150 2wd
