I'm from Europe and this has been my dream vacation for forever! My childhood horse was an Icelandic horse and they're basically a staple breed by now, tons of people are obsessed with them and there are even Icelandic-only barns. They're so fun, adorable and a lot of them have such smooth beautiful gaits. Loved how informative this was and that you clearly went with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about their horses.
Oh so cool to see the beautiful landscape and horses! We have a blind girl at our barn in Northern California who owns a purebred Iceland pony and she trots him around every where with his cute little gait he is the best little horse and he takes real good care of her. We did a play day last month and he took her through a trail course and did poles and barrels with her and he did awesome! We all love Leo the Iceland pony ❤ and yes he is starting to turn into a teddy bear already and it’s not even cooling down here yet.
I have always wanted to go to Iceland to go fly fishing for trout and artic char (brook trout), but now I can also go see the horses. Thanks so much. 😁
Wow it's so pretty there! The horses look amazing!! There are so many Beautiful horse breeds in the world! The ponies are so cute! I would love it if you would make a video on what it was like to ride them!😊
Thank you for this video, Carmella. I hope you do more videos on the Icelandic horse breed. For example, I'd love to hear which gaits you experienced and what you thought of them.
I visited Reykjavik, Iceland with my family in 2017 and my sister went on a group trail ride! I would have loved to go with her, but I think I`m too big for Iceland ponies - er, I mean horses! lol I better stick to larger breeds, but my sister had a great experience, she had never ridden before.
wow!! how amazing! i loooove your channel. its taught me so much about equines, and seing tucker and yoshi is the highlight of my week. this is my dream vacation! have an amazing fall. keep up the great work!
Thats so cool! My barn has one and a half Icelandics (one and half means one pure bred and one and one cross breed) the pure bred one looks exactly like the orange one in your video but a bit taller! hope you had so much fun!
I have an Icelandic pony called Birtingur. He's super sweet and wonderful, but trust me I did not choose that name..😅 Also I can definitely confirm that they look like teddy bears in the winter.
Wow, what an opportunity of a life time. How did this come to be? I love this video so much. Thanks for sharing along with all of us. I love your channel all the way to Ohio.

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I have talked about traveling to Iceland before, and finding out more about the equestrian culture there has really sealed the deal for me :D
Actually, the European horse of one thousand years ago was the same size as the modern Icelandic horse. We know this from archeological horse remains. Smaller animals are far more practical and useful.
What an amazing time you must have had. The Icelandic horses are a favorite of mine. Thank you for sharing
I love horses so much and as a kid it's so inspirational to see you riding!! Tell Tucker I say hi!!! ♥️♥️

I love Icelandics! The only horses I've ever riden are Icelandics because my "local barn" only has that breed! I love the fluffy mane 😅
4:54 So you don't inbreed AT ALL, or just mostly?
I thought they didn’t have saddle pads on 😂
What a wonderful experience! My husband and I have talked about traveling to Iceland before, and finding out more about the equestrian culture there has really sealed the deal for me :D
Hi

First
Wow, No inbreeding
Good No vaccinated horse's

They also use horses for meat and for blood (look up icelandic blood mares).
