Great introduction to GAIA! Does the Topo map on the phone show your progress on the route real time? Will a Satellite Communicator improve the signal on the phone when paired to a Zoleo or Inreach? Grateful for your thoughts and response.
yes your location is shown in Gaia on an active route. I use the phone in offline mode since I'm often riding outside of cell range. You don't need cell range to use the mapping features. you just need to download the base maps and route before you go. I do this at home with wifi. Then I am in airplane mode when navigating in the backcountry. I have a satellite device for comms and emergency, but I don't use that for navigation. Hope that helps.
Fantastic video, super simple. I never knew that about tapping the location and it telling you the weather or driving directions to the start of my route, thanks from Australia (is your dog a blue heeler?).

Does Gaia tell you the turn by turn directions on your android phone app? and if it does, how you set it that way. Thanks in advance

@@kingdaniel69 I don't use turn by turn, but just did a quick search and yes you can set that up in Gaia. Their help info is pretty handy
Thanks, but there was nothing in this video about....navigating with the app!
The Gaia free tutorials are awesome if you want to dive deeper into using that app and navigating!
