Fr, bro needed wood and completely ignored a bunch of saplings in the mansion
nahhh I already had oak saplings, and you need 4 dark oak saplings for just 1 tree. needed to keep the inventory condensed.

I'm suprised nobody mentioned this, but the mob grinder isn't working because it looks like you used slabs for the roof. Slabs let in too much light for mobs to spawn, hence the bad spawn rates-- try double slabbing/replacing with full blocks!
I don't think it's the case, i build the same in sky block and it work perfectly, i think it's cause the caves below the mob farm are not lighted
My creeper farm also uses slabs at the top and works amazingly

i don't think that's the case... i've always used slabs for my mob grinder roofs, never had a problem
+ you should build 128 blocks in the air for the caves and surface to unload
I got so triggered when paul passed the entire tree farm in the woodland mansion

he intentionally left them bc you need 4 saplings for one tree and wanted to keep his inventory condensed

The lack of water bucket usage through this whole playthrough was surprising. That thing would have saved multiple villages if used more.
I think Paul should have made his house with crimson wood or warped wood as they are fire resistant.

Fun Fact: Every time you create a new world, the first enchantment is always set to be the same. In recent releases, If your very first enchant is level 30 on a diamond pickaxe, it’ll always have silk touch

shout out to the enchant luck in this vid! normally your enchants aren't the best until you get a villager set up. I also loved the grass creeping in on you building the base.

QUICK TIP: If you get enough obsidion to build a portal, then you can go through the portal and mine the corners of the portal in the nether. This should give you enough obsidion for an enchant table! If you are lazy like me, then this should help a lot!
We need a 200 days of this. You can find a deep dark, build an underground base, build in the nether, get a fancy beacon etc.
I do like large challenge videos like this, but it is my opinion that if you have an upload schedule you should split large projects between uploads instead of pushing back the upload. Thanks for the great content either way though!

Not sure if Paul feels the same way but it seemed like there was too much left undone. I'd really like another 100 days of this. I feel like taking some of that lava away from the mob farm would have helped the spawn rates and also I'd like to see pathways made through the lava to villages and landmarks that aren't totally burned down to fill out an actual map.
Hey Paul a weird and a time consuming idea. Make book bois for unbreaking,mending and efficiency and you can build everything with obsidian, which may help in blocking the light from all the lava around for the grinder. Also early investment on a small beacon for haste. For the food you literally can afk fish farm which saves food for all kinds of villager breeding which gives unlimited tools for usage. Just an idea.
PS: All opaque blocks does have the same effect on light but no harm in trying

I think the problem with the mob grinder is the fact that you used slabs for the roof instead of full blocks, and light passes through slabs like they're full blocks so it's basically having no ceiling

In my most recent minecraft hardcore world I set up a fishing farm in a hut, and on top of it I set up a mob grinder, it is the most efficient way to get levels and enchanting books in my opinion.
