- Third and final speedrun of this game to me. I've spent over a month trying to do a time under 7 minutes, but due to one mistake or another, or bad RNG, I couldn't.
Today, I did it twice. This is the better of the two times.
I won't go for under 6 minutes as that is practically impossible without TAS.

I got an accidental 5 combo on stage 6 and felt like a God and then thought to look this up and see someone consistently make 4 and 5 combos every time?? Jeeze
You should look up Pro Puyo Puyo players. They can consistently get chains of like 15

Wow a true master with the 4 in a row with some doubles instant win each time doing that. I always had a hard time with the second one a miracle if I could make it to round 5.
well if i remember right 5 in a row is outright instant death. it *will* will your board enough to kill you. although i do seem to remember getting 6 in a row once... that was a fun day.

@@durece100Dr robotnik, a villain who canonically enslaving people, has killed people in bad endings such as.sonic CD, loves to torture his enemies is somehow protected from saying anything about his demise. Not a good look for you my guy.
Nice run, is there any safe strategy for where the clear blocks land when the opponent makes clears? Seems to me like there wouldn't really be a good backup and it's just about adjusting on the fly if they drop somewhere bad.
Short answer: no, the Nuisance Puyos drop on random locations, unlike some other games in the series.

Short follow up to an answer given before: stacking your beans high (3 tall) makes them less susceptible to being covered up by lesser attacks

wish i could still play this game. but i can't anymore. :( my eyes are like "how about you DON'T make us track a moving object?" and then i get a headache.
funny part about this TAS is that - the world record actually has faster times on some of the earlier stages (stage 1 is 19 seconds)

I played Mean Bean Machine for the first time in years and I’ve never been good at it, but today I so proud of myself by beating Dr. Robotnik in 33 seconds so I wanted to see if anyone else had done it, nice.
You ever wonder why the beans start to land even faster at the next level how confusing right?
Is to make the game harder.
and yet in a way it also makes the game easier. think about it, the game's ai is old, and even if it weren't, it can only think so fast. i remember my first time beating robotnik was legit just me desperately clearing beans as fast as possible and waiting for him to kill himself and give me the victory.@@somebodycool9100
I only beat this on normal when I was a kid. In 2015 at 20 years old is when I final beat it on hard with a few retries

i had a easier time with robotnik then i had with god dam skweel (stage 6) i beat robotnik in 9 tries where as skweel took me 175

Dragon Breath and Scratch were a real pain though.. I remember when I couldn't get past stage 2 hahaha
