Same. I know a lot about wheel size and how filmer wheels are usually way softer and bigger but I never really thought about slight adjustments to cater to specific types of skating. I've always just rode 52 spitfires and never really think about it. Good to know though. I might actually try some harder wheels next time.
I think the surface you skate and your weight really will impact the size and hardness of the wheels. When I'm in a skatepark the 99A Spitfire Lock ins are wonderful. When I try skating around on those wheels on the sketchy pavement around me I just end up wanting to walk and contemplate going on a diet.
Hahahaha that’s why I sprung for two sets after getting 8-9 years of not skating. I got the spitfire classic 58m 80a for the rough and tough streets, and the f4 conical 56m 101a which I kind of regret. I feel like I should’ve grabbed a smaller wheel for tricks and slides.
Out of pure curiosity why was wheel shape counted out of this? I feel the shape is more important as it drastically changes the way the board interacts with the ground
hard wheels feel slower when riding and softer wheels faster and make less noise but then again depends on how the company once I got enjoy wheels and they ripped.
@@AriGoldFishing9136 not really they go fast than a pair of small wheels, and if you half weak legs and don’t ride lose then you would really wouldn’t understand.
so a 54mm conical wheels would be a good size for skateparks that have table tops and hips? i cant seem to get enough speed with 52mm spitfire tablets.
Dude I knew dale wasn’t gonna keep this whole video super serious 😂😂 it’s not a video with dale if dale doesn’t do something and say something dirty or inappropriate 😂
Spitfire F1 99a (classic formula) cone and shrink evenly. Spitfire F4 99du grip more but don’t seem to cone like F1 and the shrink slow and evenly. Spitfire F4 101 slide better but shrink fast and unevenly and cone like crazy if you don’t rotate every session or sometimes during a session you will have one wheel smaller than the rest in literally 1 day not joking ...
Can someone explain me what Powell Peralta wheels are like? Are Bones wheels and Powell Peralta wheels the very same thing? What is the difference between Powell Peralta wheels and Bones wheels? Isn't Bones owned by Powell Peralta?
They're called risers. Puts the board farther away from the wheels. Limits wheele bite, vibration and supposed to help with stress cracks. I used to use them when I was younger, but stopped. Just person preference. Always got cracks regardless
because back in the day when you were riding Bullet 66s you used a 1/2-in riser pad to keep the wheel from hitting the board and throwing you off every time you carved.
Here's a question no one's touched on... Does wheel size AFFECT wheel hardness? As in...is a 52mm 95a wheel harder than a 56mm 95a wheel? By the way that food analogy was hilariously off and awful... Pretty sure you can kill someone winging a 97a wheel to the temple...lol
What else do you guys want to know?!
do bearings matter and does griptape matter

how much of a difference does wax make for grinds and slides

In this video we did not touch on wheel shape. We plan on it in the future, this was simply talking about the hardness and mm that your wheel may be.
@@ccs Ya a video on shape would be awesome too! Thanks for the great content.
I ride 101a's religiously but I'm finna getta set up 54mm glizzys
I’ll give you a glizzy
I left the burnside dirty 30 thrasher vid to watch this and I don’t regret. Wait nvm I kinda regret but I’m not leaving this

I would like to try 95a’s. They seem like they would be the perfect duro for street and park.

well. the barometric pressure out east is way less forgiving. so harder wheels for sure..
hard wheels feel slower when riding and softer wheels faster and make less noise but then again depends on how the company once I got enjoy wheels and they ripped.
yeah plus bigger wheels get going slower but hold speed longer, and smaller wheels are the opposite

Yes. They come down the same factory line. One set gets bones graphics, one set gets powell graphics.

Could you talk about bushings for inbetween the trucks and board, my dad has talked about it but why would you need it?

Once I discovered Bones STF I never looked back
This showed really nothing in the range of hardness all those as super hard to me. 78A is the best. Crusty streets forever.
