Don't know when they filmed this but decades ago(VN era ), when I was doing military training in that swamp, the various biting insects were a REAL problem to deal with. Hell it seemed like you could almost pick up the mosquitos on radar, and noisy as hell during the night. And, whomever thinks gators aren't dangerous, hasn't spent much time in the wild with them. You've only to see one killing a deer to get the real picture, and during the course of our training, we saw several bull gators missing toes and in one case most of leg. Apparently , during breeding season, they bulls tear the hell out of each other the big ones often killing and eating the smaller ones. In any event, I did NOT enjoy much our trekking around on that 'shaking land' , especially during night maneuvers. Oh, one other thing, it was damned hot and humid, and smelled like hell- good preparation for where we were headed I suppose. I have a lot of memories of that swamp, and still trying to find a good one.

@@The_Red_Off_Road I meant what time of year:) I was in there in august...maybe they filmed it in dead of winter which might account for the decrease in bugs, but I have to tell you, it was like being in the Amazon when I was there (and I've been in the Amazon lol).

When I was young I lived in NAS glenco GA
My family would go to Okefenokee
One time I saw a gator statue out front of the museum
I asked my dad if I could play on it he said that was another inside that I could look at
When we came out the "statue" had left back into the swamp
