It was Bengal where East India Compony had got his first foot hold and it was Bengal and it’s partition by Lord Curzon in 1905 and it’s opposition from congress under the leadership of Tilak, Lala Lajpat Roy and Bipin Chandra Pal initiated the Britishers to embark on the policy of “divide and rule” and in 1906 by the initiation of Curzon in 1906 Muslim league and Hindu Mahasabha was formed with the help of Zamindars of Hindu and Muslim community.This policy which was started in Bengal finally culminated in the partition of India and ghastly genocide in the continent.
