BBC's Challenge Anneka - Series 1 Episode 8 - Kent Railway Restoration - 20th October 1989

At the request of the local community and volunteers of the Kent and East Sussex Railway, the local station at Northiam in Kent and the lines leading to it were renovated to allow steam trains to come to the town.

The summer of '89... wish I were back there now. England was wonderful back then.

I visit the Railway quite often and never knew the program had a K+E,S,R episode, Northiam is a lovely station and it's kept in beautiful condition to this day (June 2024) . I often jump off here and just take in the countryside which can be enjoyed at this quiet spot .Anneka and the challenge team did a great job for the local people and area. Hats off to you .
