Happy New Year Friends! Today we are starting fresh for the new year, and un-decorating the house after the holidays. I also share how I store all of my Christmas decorations once the season is over. I hope you enjoy this video.

New year used to be different when I was in my 20’s 🤣🤦♀️ ….but now (40) I’m hanging around the house with my husband and kids. I would like to start a tradition with my little ones for new years, maybe games, or something memorable. We’re not party people but we have a big family so we could technically have a little family party at our house I love to host. I just feel like most working adults with children just try to get as much rest as they can when they can 😂

I have about 12 totes of Christmas decor. 2 yrs. ago I gave up 1/2 of what I have, and this yr. I only put 1/2 of that, so I will be downsizing again. Thankfully, our ladies group is having a thrift sale coming up. I do decorate for all seasons, even Valentines, but, I am sick of all the totes controlling my life. I am at the stage of my life that I am doing less. But your decorating is just beautiful!
A minute in and I am already impressed by the pristine white, all matching bins that you store decorations in. Then there's me with the totally random blue, clear, red, and cracked bins. 😉
Thank you Ashley!! Hey, any bins get the job done for sure! 😊 These decorations lived in mismatched bins for many years. There's still a few around. 😁😁 When I moved in this house several years ago, I decided I was going to reorganize with all white bins. It was my little treat to myself.💕

You don’t mention a family and yet you decorate your large home so beautifully…I find after my husband died a couple years ago and only one of my childrens family lives here it’s hard for me to decorate as lavishly as I used to

Wow would love a garage n store room. I have to crawl I to my attic to push Christ decor into eaves. Back breaking n bang head. Takes 4 hours as - like you - have a ton of decor. Love your work.
All I could think of as I'm watching you pack up storage totes was the number of trips you had to make carrying them back to the garage!

The new year plans for this channel sounds exciting. What do you do for work?
Good job! So far I managed to bring two tubs in today, or I should say yesterday. However, I have not even started filling one up. Like you I decorate a lot and there are several more tubs and boxes to bring in. I take the pups to the groomers tomorrow so after I get home, I’ll start. I always hate this part of decorating. I’d love to decorate, but taking down is not much fun, but when it’s all down, I know it’s clean cause I kinda do my spring cleaning at that time as well.😊

Happy New Year, Brittney! I am so SO excited to see your upcoming decorating and project videos! Your videos are always so well done. I love how organized you are. The all white bins make everything look so organized and clean. The only thing I have left to undecorate is my front porch, and I have to get to it this week. We have little birds that come to our porch every year in late January, early February to make their spring nest. Because we've been so warm here in GA, I've already seen them out there scouting the porch a couple of times. I buy them a nice wreath every year for their nest and put it up right after I take Christmas down, but they've never been this early! I am going to have to get out there after tomorrow's storms so I don't have my Christmas wreath up all spring into summer with a nest in it. The neighbors will talk -- the girl still has up Christmas 😄

Wow! That was a lot for a 1 day goal. You did awesome. I have maybe 5% the amount of your decorations and it took me 3 days to undecorate. I like to take my time.
Our family stayed home for New Years. No traditions other than staying up. We don’t like fireworks.

This year I added about 40 crystal ornaments ...I will be super careful taking them down this weekend. Fingers crossed that have zero casualties.

Decorating is so much fun! Holiday music playing, candles lit, scents of Christmas so lovely, such a festive happy time is had. It takes only moments, a blink of an eye, to deck the halls, but an eternity, or so it seems, to un-deck those very same halls. Exhausting really. But, after all is done, everything put away and all made so neat and tidy, the satisfaction of all that hardwork completed feels absolutely wonderful! A satisfied sigh is had after a glance around and then a well earned glass of wine, or cup of tea had, followed by a lovely rest which is truly enjoyed. Watching this video brought all of those feelings of joy and satisfaction back. Hoping this new year brings me the same. Loved this video and Thank you! I love putting it all up but taking it down is another story. I got it all done and even got all of the outside lights down and put away. WHEW is all I can say! I enjoyed watching you take everything down, organize it, and put it away. You're very efficient! I'll be looking forward to everything you do on your channel this year. It will be so much fun seeing how you decorate for every holiday and season, watching you organize, re do things, and your work. I stayed home on New Year's Eve as I always do. I was cozy with my kitties and planning the New Years Day meal which is always the traditional black eye peas, greens, sweet potatoes, and corn bread. I'm a true blue southern gal so I can't get away from it. It's been a family thing for years. I hope that the New Year is happy, healthy, prosperous, and blessed for you Brittney. Happy New Year my sweet friend. We spent new years eve at home with family. I cooked a big pot of Taco soup and lots of appetizers. After dark, we went outside and watched all the fireworks with our neighbors. I'm now taking down all the Christmas decor and getting my home back in order. Can't wait to see more wonderful decorating videos.

Brittney Happy New Year and many blessings to you and all your loved one. Our family take down all the Christmas decorations after the 6th of January because we celebrate the Epiphany. I think we really enjoy it more. One tradition we have is on the twelve chimes we eat a grape for each one until 12. This year we have it but the grape was too acid and I didn’t take it. We drink with Cider like champagne. After the twelves finish we congratulate and embrace each others. Even the dogs etc…is fun. Very happy to continue seeing all what you do. I love all and very glad that you are happier.

I used to go out and party and ring the New Year but as I've gotten older my idea of New Year's Eve is having a seafood dinner with all the fixings and a fabulous dessert and playing games watching movies just staying home and being safe and sound happy New Year Britney

Happy New Year Brittney! Our New Years Eve is low key as well. We had friends over for dinner. Played cards. None of us are late nighters so they left around 10. I was in bed by 10:30! We undecorated today and I'm exhausted. Looking forward to seeing more if your videos.

I stayed home also. I don't do any resolutions per say, but I do take the first few days of the year to be quiet in my head and reflect on what happened in 2022 and what I would like to remove and what I would like to add to my life in 2023. I got some tips watching you today for sure!

As a child we did have New Year's traditions. But as an adult my traditions lately have been definitely chilling at home staying at home you know just relaxing. When I did see your decoration method I thought as well where did she put all that stuff. But this year I'm finally because I live in an apartment it's getting a storage and I'm organizing everything that I have in my bins with labels and when I put it in my storage I'll be organized like Christmas Thanksgiving so I can have more space here to add to my home. I do too have in the past and will continue to organize per area like kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom. I use also the vacuum bags so everything that I pile in bins so I can more to each bin. I take all batteries out of every piece of equipment that I have and I store in plastic bags because of the different weather elements between cold and hot they could get rusty and whatnot. Okay the snap of your fingers that was legit that was good lol hahahahaha 🤣🤣. Thank you!!!!

I am obsessed with your storage area in the garage, all the uniform white bins and the black storage racks. I have bins in all colors, and might just have to upgrade to one color some day cuz I love how streamlined it looks! Could you tell me which black racks you use? They look super sturdy and fit so many totes! So glad you will be more active on TH-cam, like lots of others have already said! :)

Yes I stayed home too! I like to be in my own home nice and cozy and not out in the crowds! Lol love watching your videos very motivating and can’t wait for the organizational videos! When you decorate for any holiday I’m assuming you pack up some of your regular decor? So you put that in the bins that your holiday decor came out of or do you put all that stuff somewhere else? I do pack away some regular decor when I decorate seasonally, especially during fall and Christmas. I usually just store those extra items in the garage closet or I will put them in an empty bin if I need to.
