I have found these videos to be the best way to quickly get acquainted with a large set of vocabulary! I first listen to about 50 words, then study them throughout the week. It's easy to create a repeatable study routine because these videos go from HSK 1-5! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback, kevindemiranda! If you go to our website, you can also study the HSK vocabulary and sentences with free FLASHCARDS: www.mandarincorner.org/hsk-vocabulary-videos-with-sentence-examples/
I have to spend a lot of time finding the right book for me to study Chinese until this program. The way she pronounces the words and plus example how to use them so excellent and easy to follow. I can see that we get progress day by day by following her. All I can say is She and the way she teaches Chinese is the best for everyone who wants to learn how to speak Chinese in the right way. Thank you very much Mandarin Coner!!!!!!!
Mandarin Corner is the best in my opinion as an educator and polyglot. Why? Reason #1: it’s not boring! The sentences are actually about interesting things. This is crucial! Reason #2: There’s plenty of repetition. Repetition is very helpful. Reason #3: The colloquialisms used are good to learn, even if they are ancillary to the vocab being taught. Reason #4: There is a great variety of types of videos, from HSK leveled vocab to fascinating stories of real lives in China (the killing chickens as a rural child thing for example is unforgettable!), man-on-the-street interviews, etc. Reason #5: The price is very reasonable. Bravo! As a beginner, I listen with headphones at 25% speed. Some people laugh at this but they are dead wrong! If you are learning the scales on the piano, you’d BETTER go extra slow. Same goes for language acquisition. Ignore this truth at your peril. Did your parents talk to you at 100 kmh when you were a baby? Of course not! Even at slow speed, it is useful to repeat, but repeat in different ways: just listening, listening and reading, just reading, listening then repeating from memory, repeating with focus on vocab, or structure, or the colloquial (typical) ways of saying things, or the tones/pronunciation. Mix it up and don’t bore yourself!
