Bob, you are a great teacher of restoring these miniature vehicles, especially with trying out “new” products, some work, some don’t. I am really getting into the hobby, thanks to you Bob, Martin & others. This was a nice build, you over came the little obstacles, paint turned out great & as always enjoyed your “yapping “, take care my friend see ya on the next build😎👍👍👍🚗

Hi Bob, looks like you had a few of us yelling at the screen again, with those mirrors, lol.
I was glad you didn't spill the nail polish, would have been your topper.
Keep up the great restos with all their fiddly bits.
    Cheers, Robert.

Great job Bob, the paint job spot on. Glad you got the mirrors on the Wright way. PS great job on the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, a very frustrating and fiddle job.👍👍

Hi,Bob.Thanks for the mention.Do take good care of this model,it's the very early 'red dot' wheels version.most came with 'whizzwheels'.although often refered to as 'whizzwheels',these were in fact an experiment by the factory,to use up old wheel stocks.consequently, not many were produced, which makes any 'red dot' cars worth more.there are a number of cars fitted with them, the rarest is the orange Ford Capri.

Forgot to add a comment,Bob.I'm amazed,i think that's your best yet.I have my own idea for aquiring one,but i'd like to paint it 'spectraflame' red! it's shown in a red colour in the '70 Corgi catalogue.

Great job again Bob, I am sure you made the mistake with the mirror on purpose just to wind us up and get us shouting at the video. Lovely colour match and a great result on another complicated restoration.

keith davies no mate I seriously didn’t put it on wrong on purpose! Didn’t want to ruin that nice paint job, just shows what a dummy I am at times 🙄

    Hi Bob
For chrome effect on the bonnet go to B&Q and get some laminate flooring underlay joining tape, the silver one ,it’s very thin, self adhesive and moulds well into the detail,I’ve used it to create the polished alloy effect on a Lightning

You've got some patients Bob. Putting that car back together would've been a nightmare for me. I think it would've been flying through the air by now! ....... l think the car is actually an Astro Vette EXP concept car by General Motors if l remember correctly. Glad you realised you had the wing mirrors around the wrong way lol 😄, mind you that's the sort of thing l would've done 😄 Awesome job and the colour match is perfect 👍

outstanding job bob ,, was amazed by this model back in the 70s amazingly not by the car but by the figures inside , anyone who hasn't seen one really needs to take a look , the figure painters were outstanding , they even painted the etebrows on man .. how did they ever make money on these toys ?? .. thinking of doing mine now but thinking of doing it in the red colour of the real car ,, the mirrors made me chuckle as i thought WTF is he doing ??? then gave a PHEEEWWWW !! WHEN YOU NOTICED LOL

I had one of those in my collection, annoying thing is, I kept all my die cast toys up until 2014 when i decided to have a clear out and threw them out because of the condition of some of them and taking up room in my attic. I could kick myself! But hey ho that's life. Thanks for the nod Bob, Ill keep a look out for you Sunday at the toy and train fair in Newton..Great video..😊

bob don't give up on the chrome foil its to be used like you would use dutch metal or gold leaf. apply with size available on the net or with watered down P.V.A glue. let the glue or size become tacky then with a soft artists brush work into the detail areas let dry and then remove the excess with a craft knife. when it works well it looks fantastic more suited to panels or flat surfaces as you say don't ever let it beat you. take care buddy.

margaret nightingale hi Ian, yeah I won’t give up on it yet, got 2 videos done for the next 2 weeks but after that might not be a video up for a while as my missus is in hospital and I’ve had no time to do anything more 🙁

Nice restoration again Bob, if you hadn’t managed to get that mirror out again you could have just put the other one in and said they were special spot lights 😉lol !
What was that shiny stuff? Was it like foil ? Would it have made any difference heating it with a hair dryer. I’m always nervous trying out new stuff like that, any way you got things sorted in the end. Thanks for the mention when reading out your comments, all publicity is good, keep up the good work and banter, always has me chuckling 😀👍, all the best, Nick

G'day Bob I never realised just how technical some of these cars can be. Your knowledge around these rare cars is amazing ~ I'm well impressed. As for the colour it came out better than a bought one. I'll have two cold tinnies for you this week cheers m8. 👍

Bob, the Astro I was red with a black bonnet; it was the Astro II that was green, Corgi got it wrong! I believe I may have refinished mine in the correct colour, difficult to remember now!

Hi Bob i have restored a Joe 90 about 2 years ago and getting the wings back together was not to bad once you got the hang of the mechanism. It was matching that metalic green paint that was difficult but great fun. Brilliant restoration, cheers.
