    Worked for Starbucks for almost 11 years and I hated it. The sound of the blenders alone makes me want to scream.

      Worked there from 2013 to 2014 and indeed when I hear those blenders, I get instant PSTD.
      All the people ordering Frappuccinos with 10 different things inside then saying it tastes gross. Well, you shouldn’t have put caramel with raspberry.

    Looks pretty much the same layout as it is today. I am still intrigued by the flat(?) touchscreen monitor they get to use. The first time I have seen a flat touchscreen monitor was in the early 2000s. Lot of people I've seen used CRT touchscreens back then. Maybe that's just me, or I haven't been paying attention.

      I got the chance to buy an ELO touch CRT from ebay a few years not so long back, it worked very smoothly, it was almost like a high end touch display that worked like a lot of the modern touch devices. I don't have it any more unfortunately.

  • @cgimovieman
    @cgimovieman ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Ah, back in the day when Starbucks was a little rarer of a thing. I miss how much more cozy it felt then. They used to have big leather or upholstered armchairs and sometimes couches, with warm lighting. I get that things like that wear out faster and need to be replaced, but isn’t it still worth doing? Starbucks also used to sell other interesting stuff like brewing equipment. I still have a Starbucks “Barista” brand burr grinder from around 2002. It has a few quirks now, but still works. Today it’s mostly just wooden chairs, drinks, and a few mugs. Far less interesting and cozy.

    • @andreww1212
      @andreww1212 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Still remember those arm chairs with the dim lighting from the late 90s. I've designed a few Starbucks as well and they have a lot more equipment and different furniture layouts. It's a little less laid back than 25 years ago.

    Starbuck today is way more chaotic with so many customers coming in speaking loudly. A few SB I have been through have had cafe be quiet, but some of them have that one customer that feels like they need to scream to the world what they are doing today. Might as well give your full name and social security number while your at it, am I right?
