Funny thing, there's also no reason to believe there was a mainstream media either ~5000 years ago. But I guess when you need a bogeyman you use the one you know.
This story of a major flood was from the Sumerians, who everyone copied that story, but probably the Sumerians took this story from an older civilization.
African folklore would be a good source, there is a 2 volume book in the University of Chicago about Africa Literature, there you will find Pharoah from Egypt with the help of his magician split the Nile River to find a piece of jewel of one of the Pharoah's lady companion whom drop her jewel in the water. As funny as it sounds Chicago is the place for this.

Everybody misses this point. Only saltwater fish can live in saltwater, and only freshwater fish can live in freshwater. The salinity was changed for both. All marine life would perish.
The Ark of Noah is a type of salvation that foreshadows the End-Time Ark of Salvation the Bible calls, "The Body of Christ." Anyone who does not enter into the Body of Christ (The Ark of Salvation) will perish in their rebelliousness against God. Although the instructions God gave to Noah were specific, I do not believe the Ark alone saved Noah and every creature with him, it was all miraculous. Whatever life sprung forth after the flood is from God. Perhaps God preserved the eggs, or DNA of marine species, fish, mammals, crustaceans, or any other type, miraculously, or perhaps he gave marine animals the ability to survive, or He created new species altogether, we do not know. God knows. Regardless, both the life in the waters, and the lives preserved on the ark, were both miraculously saved.
@@DaveRod76 Mike had a valid claim that called into question the survival of many forms of aquatic life. You then decided to preach at him. Following that you did what many literal apologists tend to do, that is you speculate that more miracles occurred (suspensions of reality) in order to cover massive holes in the Ark fable. Id like to know for instance how the two sloths made it back to South America to start over, I'd imagine at the approximate groundspeed for a sloth, it would probably take hundreds (conservative to say the least) of years? There would be also be sloth remains too, dotted along the route. Actually the remains of all species would be found along routes thousands of miles from their native lands. What about all the species of marsupials for instance? Koala's would have just loved that arduous journey across land and water!! It's also curious how marsupials all ended up in Australia (its almost like they'd evolved in isolation) !! What about Chinese culture, a far superior one too (written language) they didn't experience the fabled flood, did God manipulate their WRITTEN history in that period? When it comes right down to it, if you believe that God created THE UNIVERSE in less than a week, then grasping the details of The Flood really shouldn’t be that difficult.
What is a week to God? It certainly would not be on human time scales. Time doesn’t actually exist, it’s a man made function. Conversely how can God be all good, all powerful, all knowing? And let horrible things happen every day on Earth? The flood that Christians believe never happened the way it’s told. Also Jewish and Muslims believe in genesis as well yet I don’t think they put as much stock into Noah. It’s a oral story told about the floods at the end of last ice age nothing more nothing less
They leave God out of their thinking. They also do not adjust the time table. They bring their reasoning into the equation of millions and billions of years of basically very, very slow change. They seem incapable of thinking outside of their box.
If you believe god created the universe in less than a week why would you believe that any animals needed to be saved from the flood in the first place? Wouldn't it have only taken him a day to remake them all? Did he somehow forget how?
@@Blueman194 Why do you care if people believe in the God of the Jews and Christians? If you don't, why come and harass and mock people? Wouldn't that just be considered a waste of your time? Actually, creation scientists have also used the geological records, archeological artifacts, anthropological literature, and many other sources to prove that the flood existed. And if secular scientists and skeptics were truly being objective, then they would hold the Bible to the same standard of proof that they hold everything else. How many other “myths” or “bedtime stories” do you know of that have been passed down throughout the generations with such specificity, and then be able to prove that it could actually happen and that all of the details line up perfectly???
Much of Quantum mechanics explains in math that which cannot be adequately explained in words. Math is a way quantum physicists describe the multiverse, the "branes", the multiplicity of particles--muons, pions, mesons, leptons...Your electronics functions through the myths we explain by math. And still, the math of quantum physics does not agree with the math of Einstein's theory of relativity. yet, it works but we still cannot reconcile the fundamental theories that make our modern society. Math provides the myth that we use to explain the unexplainable. I cover this in my second book, Surviving the Micronova, in print this September, chapter 3.

No, because they're still useful. All models are wrong some are useful. We all rely GPS to get one destination. In this particular instance we trust the model. However, it's not the best fit for every purpose. Likewise many theories can be applied in the same way. Science is not absolute. It is ever evolving and changing our perceived thoughts on the world. Religion doesn't satisfy our curiosity of the world. If we don't understand something with religion we simply write it off as god's will and look no further. Sumerian tale of Gilgamesh is not merely written in a book but many other cultures around the world tell of a great flood. It has also been connected to a Heinrich solar cycle, a half cycle within a 12,000-year Micronova cycle which is connected to changes in the magnetosphere shared between earth and sun. The Magnetic North Pole has already left the Arctic Circle and is already nearing Siberia on its expected recursion to the Bay of Bengal, the new north pole. SE Asia will soon be arctic and even the elephants are migrating north to avoid the effects of the coming changes. But you have circular arguments to chase. Good luck with that! Oh, and the Magnetic South Pole is also moving north out of the Antarctic Circle--must be a circular argument. The sun has changed to the 1st horseman of the apocalypse--but that's in Revelations, you haven't read that far yet, have you?

Based on the biblical account, it took about 40 days, a month and 10 days for the earth to be cover totally with water. I don't think it was that violent, not at least for marine creatures. It was violent for land dwelling creatures. But as we all do, we assumed based on actual events. Like the Tsunami that occurs several years ago, it did affect very violently the population of the shores, but it didn't provoke the vast extension of sea creatures.
There is one component missing in her lecture, the weight of water water weighs 6.19 lbs per cubic foot. One square mile of water 1,000ft depth weighs 77 million tons. When that floodwater starts to move, everything on the ground is destroyed. Subsoil washed away down to bedrock, all the animals habitats gone. A catastrophic upheaval of the worlds surface. What happens next?
With the entire world flooded, the mass destruction is exactly what happened, and the evidence we would see is billions of dead things buried in sedimentary rock layers laid down by water all over the earth, under immense pressure explaining the geologic column and rapid fossilization. And that’s exactly what we see. Just look at the mass amount of coal seams and diamonds, buried ecosystems creating all of the fossil fuels, etc.
So Noah had put 2 of each kind of land breathing animal on this boat, so my question is how did Noah stop the carnivores from eating the the non meat eaters?
And how did he build a refrigerator for the polar bears. And what did the animals eat when everything was dead? Why does it match the Epic of Gilgamesh which was written earlier?

Well to be completely honest what u saying is completely wrong . If u read other nationalities or other cultures texts , not only will it prove that it was once a great flood . If u take our map of today and connect the lands mass together it will fit in its correct place like a puzzle. Which means something big happened that cause islands to be distant when it was once attached to one land mass . North America for example what caused it to be moved far far north ? Something happened that caused curtain parts of the land mass to be remove from once was 1 land mass. Now I wasn’t there to witness it but common sense tells me that these islands and other lands that are distant didn’t just popped up out of thin air . Something happened very drastically that cause these land masses to be removed. We hear about and see tsunami‘s happen but they don’t break lands up and removed them . But if the flood happens like many other cultures record that ,the springs of water under the earth shot out very Violently .Now I can understand how these curtain lands got misplaced on the other side of the world. These huge water springs under the earth lead the way for the earth to broke up , along with the heavy rain with the amount of time these records tells it rain for.

I’ve found sea shells all over the US and even high up in the mountains. We also know that it takes salt water and plant mater to have oil and that oil didn’t actually come from piles of dinosaurs dumped in a hole. With that knowledge alone we can safely say at some point the planet had salt water everywhere. Does that mean it flooded? Maybe no but maybe the tectonic plates have pushed land mass up out of the ground that was previously below sea level.
12,000 to 14,000 years ago something happened to accelerate the right in which Ice Age minor was receding. Dramatically increasing the amount of water being released from ice. The event is believed to have been so devastating, that it reset the knowledge of man. exactly... the ark theory is not even worth wasting time on .. although both you and i are here wasting time on it...lol you can't convince people that do not want to be convinced... and anyway would you want to ?
So this woman is introduced by Ken Ham as a highly intelligent scientist, and she calculates the age of the world by just using the bible, ignoring the mass of contrary scientific evidence! Also I would ask her why do images of the Ark now contain dinosaurs! I remember buying models of the ark and images of it for my mum who liked the story, and not one had a dinosaur on, Why is this! Is it because Christians have finally had to admit that dinosaurs are real and that they have to fit them into their narrative!
She does not calculate the age of the Earth only by the timeline of the Bible (though God's word is sufficient, no matter who says otherwise; we nevertheless should use the tools God has given us to defend His word), she uses it as a starting point, and then examines the evidence for the accounts in Genesis. The evidence for the flood is rather overwhelming. What you call a "mass of contrary scientific evidence", is in fact not evidence at all. You see, just as Christians do, and all people do, every worldview has a starting point. A point in time (or before time) where we must accept a beginning, that none of us witnessed, clearly must have occurred, otherwise we wouldn't be here. So everyone has to accept however they believe the universe began, on faith. But what IS our faith based on? Is it the words of men who hypothesize a beginning of complete chaos from nothingness, to disorder, to unimaginable complexity that we see today? There is no observed example of such a process bringing order over any period of time. So evolutionists "explain" this problem away by concluding, based on nothing but assumption, that millions and billions of years of slow evolution must have occurred. But that isn't a testable, or falsifiable hypothesis, because we don't have any accounts from eyewitnesses from millions or billions of years ago, to say that any of the things evolutionists assume to be true, actually happen. They assume that things are a certain age, and they only accept explanations that fit their narrative, regardless of facts. For instance, the example of dinosaur bones containing soft tissue that only have a maximum life of 100 thousand years, when the dinosaur has supposedly been dead for 65 million years. Rather than accept that this disproves their assumed age of these bones, they are searching for a way to explain it away. But they will never find that answer, because they have already rejected the only answer there is. We have tools of science to help us understand things. Science gave a definitive answer, and they rejected it. Those canyons shown in the video are supposed to take "millions of years" to form, according to evolutionary theory, but we have clear evidence through eyewitness record in this very RECENT example, that a single catastrophic event (which paled in comparison to the worldwide flood) can form such a rock structure within mere hours. THAT is scientific evidence, my friend. Telling one's self that there is no God, and working backwards to make a set of assumptions, without evidence, and proclaiming such a method to be science, is the opposite of science. We, as Christians, base our faith in the Word of God. That is our starting point. Then, we ask ourselves "what does the Bible say, and does the evidence support it?" And we find that we never have to "fit" something to make it work. if you watched this video, it's only a starting point of the immense amount of information that is bursting with evidence for a Creator, a worldwide flood, and a young Earth. Finally, as for your claim that Christians are having to "fit" dinosaurs into our "narrative", I can honestly say that you are the first person who I have ever heard, who claimed that Christians, at any point, did not believe in dinosaurs. I've never heard a Christian claim that dinosaurs did not exist. We simply refute the claim that they died 65 million years ago, and we have evidence to back it up. Have a great day, and God bless you!
I know there are those will not acknowledge the existence of dinos, but generally speaking, I don’t think Christians deny the existence of said creatures. The Bible speaks of them… the implication of ginormous beasts. Does she mention it? Just started listening….
@@eddiestanford7308 wow you said so many things I don't know where to begin! Il cover a few! Firstly you say we have to begin with Answers in Genesis and God's word, well why this holy book and not one of the thousands of other religious books around the world that offer claims in terms of creation stories and jesus style figures who returned to earth? They have their witnesses to! For example How do you know the Australian Aborigines were wrong in saying that many of their dieties created everything? How do you know that the prophet Zoroaster from the Persian religion that pre dates Christianity wasnt real and that the Bundahishn which was their creationism story wasn't correct? Also why a God, why not a intelligent alien lifeform starting the universe? You must feel very lucky, you know it was a God and you picked the right one, so convenient! Also it is a major fallacy that all Christians make by using the old "no one was there argument" so we can't know and everyhing has to be taken on faith and belief, No, home sapiens were not around at the beginning but that doesn't mean that we can't find out what happened and in many respects we have, It does a massive dis service to all the work that has been undertaken over the years by people trying to piece together what we know. We study the earth, we study the universe that provide clues to the age of the earth and what happened! I'm sure if your house was burgled and no one was there you wouldn't tell the police not to bother, no you'd want forensic teams to study the area and find clues that can be used scientifically to nab the villain, including hair samples or fragments of clothes. I have studied the history of human origins at Oxford and we can see the evidence of human evolution along with studying paleontology that doesn't just look at dinos but looks at how the earth has changed over the millions of years! Also the Christian argument is illogical, it states that no one knows, yet they know it was God! They say it was a prime mover outside time and space, still how to prove it, and it sounds as like someone saying, I don't have an answer, so il say it was God. This idea that everyone just has faith and belief is non sensible as it excludes the scientific evidence that has been gathered of the world and universe! Christians say this to put their position level with science which can be seen with the term they use evolutionist! They act like it's a 50 50 argument! Also to say that science is based on faith is nonsense as when you turn the light on it doesn't just work on faith and belief by those who made the light, they would have ensured their was scientific evidence that would make it work! Car makers don't just chuck out cars that that hope will work no they make sure! We can date Fossils of dinos to millions of years as they have many scientific models to test them, are you saying that they are all wrong and you know better? Perhaps you should tell the people that I studied with where they are wrong as you seem to have more knowledge on paleontology and the world than they do? Also your whole narrative that their is a big conspiracy theory taking place amongst every scientist over the years including now has no evidence! You seem to think that they are doing it to deliberately cancel out God, this is bullshit! Science is looking at the evidence and following where it leads, remember that any scientist would love to prove God as they would go down in History! The man or woman who proved a God existed! They would win a nobel prize and prove others wrong! I understand why you have this attitude as you need to discredit science as you know it poses a threat to your beliefs. Also what overwhelming evidence is there for a flood? Also to have a eyewitness account of a flood creating a rock formation or what you said is nonsense as you need much stronger evidence of that! I could say I saw elvis every day would you believe me? It is rather annoying when people say there is no evidence to explain what we know! If people studied the subjects I have then they may understand a little of our past, Finally I do not know if there is a God or any God, all I can do is look at the evidence around us without being bias and deliberately trying to rubbish opposing views unless they can provide good evidence for their position!

You lost me 2 minutes into it by saying the Earth is 6000 years old. That is EASILY proven false. Also. Noah’s story was obviously borrowed from older stories in Mideastern cultures.
1. The Epic of Gilgamesh was written up to 1000 years prior to the earliest written accounts of the Hebrew stories, and describes in its earliest versions a localized river flood in which Utnapishtim was swept downriver and out to sea on a barge with farm animals and grain intended for markets downriver. 2. Man has been present as a distinct species on the Earth for about two million years, proven by fossil dating and DNA studies. In all that time the continents have been located in virtually the same spaces they occupy today, give or take a few feet on account of the movement of tectonic plates. 3. The writers of the "Bible" plagiarized Gilgamesh, written much earlier, when they began to set down their oral traditions in writing - oral traditions that borrowed extensively from other myths and legends - and they turned the story of Gilgamesh's Flood into a global Deluge and adapted it to their own religion. 4. The Ark, as stated in the Bible, is of a certain size, in units known as cubits. Compared to modern measurement systems the Ark would have been roughly 1/3rd the length of the Queen Mary II, a multi-level ship that at its best can only hold 4,500 people or so. According to the Bible the Ark held two individuals of every land species in existence at that time. That would have been well over 5 million species, and two of each. In a boat that could hold at best 1500 people. 5. The only animals that could have reached the Ark would have been those living in Eurasia and Africa near to the Mesopotamian regions. This means that all the animals of North and South America, Australia, and every other geographically isolated continent or island that had an elevation under 16,854 feet (the height of Ararat) would have all drowned and these landmasses would have been scoured clean and sterile of all animal life. 6. Animals indigenous to isolated landmasses such as Australia never developed anywhere else, and they have ancestral lines that predate Man himself, such as the kangaroo and koala. Virtually every animal on Australia is indigenous to that landmass. The tallest mountain in Australia is Mount Kosciuszko, at 7,310 feet. A Flood able to cover Ararat would have wiped Australia clean of all life. 7. The Australian species could not have reached Asia, especially the ones that don't swim, like kangaroos and koalas. They developed on that landmass and nowhere else. If they had been wiped out there would be nothing on Australia except birds and whatever species we brought there, such as rabbits, in the 1800s. 8. During the time of "Noah" as set down in the Bible, we know that there were other cultures in existence. They made art, kept good records, and they continued doing so. A Flood of that magnitude would have caused their cultures to vanish, and all their art and records to have simply stopped. We call this a cultural terminus line, and had there been a Biblical Flood every culture in the world would have all ceased to exist on the same day. This simply never happened. There is no cultural terminus line. 9. If all animals repopulated the world from Mt. Ararat, then we would see an archeological ripple extending outwards like ripples in a lake from Ararat. Each successive generation could only get so far or move so far in their lifetimes, so the oldest specimens (of every creature in the world) would all be around Ararat. The place would be a massive graveyard for hundreds of miles around considering the 10 million individual species that would have had to have been released from the Ark. 10. Assuming that kangaroos, koalas, and every other Australian species somehow got to Eurasia to get on the Ark, they would have left archeological evidence in Eurasia as well, and those species would now likely be living in Asia, and not Australia, as I have previously noted most of those species don't swim. Especially not thousands of miles. 11. The Flood never happened. We know this from geologic and archeological proofs. At one time, due to the shifting of the tectonic plated billions of years ago, our current continents were on the seafloor and our rock strata shows evidence of this. More recently certain areas were under water from lakes and inland seas that dried up as the plates continued to shift. At no time during Man's tenure on the Earth has there ever been a global Flood. Even if all the ice in both poles and everywhere else in the world all melted, the sea level rise would be under 300 feet. Not enough to Flood the world, and nowhere near enough to attempt to submerge Ararat, at nearly 17 thousand feet tall. 12. The Ark would have had to have held even more tonnage, as millions of animals would have required billions of tons of food. 13. If the sea level rose to 26,026 feet it would have expanded the atmospheric envelope outwards, decreasing the atmospheric density by about 33%. Any living organism on the surface would have died from asphyxiation first and then would have frozen solid as the surface solidified into a Snowball Earth. 14. Even 6.7 million land-based species (x2) would have swamped a boat that size. Families of animals differentiated long before 6000 years ago. If all animals on earth differentiated in the last 6000 years we would have genetic evidence all dating from the same point in time. Takeaway: Noah and the Flood never happened. The "Bible", a collection of stories, myths, and legends borrowed from other cultures, plagiarized the Epic of Gilgamesh in order to create an impossible tale.
the story was carried on by noahs descendants throughout the world and was obviously written down after gilgamesh but u don't have any faith so......you are going to keep coming up with reasons to not believe even when you have possible explanations. I can't change your mindset only God can but......
the two of every species was when i started questioning this. basic biology tells us without enough genetic diversity in a species the species will eventually die out due to inbreeding, cancer being a common mutation due to it
Yeah I was coming to comment about that, that we are lucky our animals aren't so inbred that they try to claim.. although some dog breeds are pretty bad (and that has happened in couple hundred years) but not that bad that every specimen alive would have come from two individuals.. we would not have animals at all.. we can see it in humans too, example most inbred family in America and that hasn't taken as long as they try to claim animals have been on earth after that + humans take a lot longer to make offspring than most of animals so it would have taken even less time with most animals
so you believe an unproven theory that loads of the same kinds magically appeared with plenty of opposite sex partners to procreate all at the same time. Yet the same fairy tale teachers tell you that things evolved slowly over time. You either believe in Gods miracles or the miracle lies of evolution. There's no difference in the mentality or intelligence of Believers in God or evolution. Both groups chose to believe in something. Archeology proves the bible. Not only domestic animals, but wild animals, animals that couldn't survive in the habitat where the Ark was, and mosquitoes! Some animals were the natural prey of other animals. Try explaining that to the Throne!
The story of the ark is a myth that they should not take it literally. In brief, the entire Bible from A to Z is a coded metaphor. There is no literal person in the Bible. Noah was not a living being, but he was a fictional character that represented the sun.
As a kid, I saw EVIDENCE of Noah's flood. I visited Dinosaur National Monument. In spite of crap like "this layer is 50 million years old...", I saw a dinosaur femur, one end is 50 million years old, the other end is 30 million years old. What I saw was evidence of Noah's flood. All these skeletons appears to have died within hours of each other, settled in a delta, and got silted over for fossilization.

I used to believe in the Noah's Ark Global Flood story but after some further consideration and the lack of good answers from AiG I'm pretty sure now that it isn't all that is seems. Sadly a lot of what AiG proposes as solutions, really create more problems. If it's supernatural it's bollocks, truly, it becomes a faith issue then which isn't a reliable path to truth.
Myths are another way humans express the mysteries we can't explain. Much of Quantum mechanics explains in math that which cannot be adequately explained in words. Math is a way quantum physicists the multiverse, the "branes", the multiplicity of particles--muons, pions, mesons, leptons...Your electronics functions through the myths we explain by math. And still, the math of quantum physics does not agree with the math of Einstein's theory of relativity. yet, it works but we still cannot reconcile the fundamental theories that make our modern society. Math provides the myth that we use to explain the unexplainable. I cover this in my second book, Surviving the Micronova, in print this September.
Quantum physicists have faith in their application of the math mythos without a clue why it works so wonderfully well to make sense of the mysterious world open to them. So far you might have barely skirted the depths content to wallow about in the shallow margins of faith, whether it's math or ancient attempts to communicate that which is in unfathomable. Its not true. Carnivors animals would have eaten the other animals and the grass eaters would have needed a pasture. There woyld have been an area with snow for polar bears and walruses! Koalas would have needed trees and kangaroos.
I also believe in the flood with a few modifications to the story. For example: define world, define "kinds" of animals, and others. Think about the people at that time and their knowledge. Remember one little thing - God was talking to a person of a certain era and what's more important a certain area of the world. So first off how big did the people at that time think the world was. To many people, it was flat and ended on the horizon so the world was not that big. Think what they didn't know - British Isles, Antarctica, Artic. Pacific - They just didn't know about them. Therefore the number of animals was considerably smaller. No crocodiles, probably, which means many of the 'kinds' of animals she talks about were not in that area. Dinosaurs? Come on. Most died out long before man even came into existence. The croc is the closest to a dinosaur that we have. The second thing is that the Aztecs had their own version of the flood. Perhaps they took the crocs etc, but even then the world was basically Central America and a small part of North and South America. Did they have an ark? Don't know but if God determined they needed one I guess they might have had one. Was there an ark? If you are thinking of saving two of every kind of air-breathing animal then the ark would have been much bigger than 300 x 50 x 30 cubits. All of this rests on the premise that you believe in a supreme being which I call God.
I love the part, "Remember one little thing". I feel bad people get hung up on the biblical accounts to avoid the issue of personal sin. There are many religions with lots of stories but only one where you can have a personal relationship with Him. Everyone needs Jesus. Noah used a dove (more precisely a morning dove) because it was time for it to nest. The other reason he used a morning dove is because you can hear it fly. If your standing on top of the roof and watching out at the bright blue sky, you need to hear it first to be be able to spot the bird before it lands so you know where it came from. This is an important clue and no one figures it out. Morning doves have been nesting at the same time of year for thousands of years. Look up the time for yourself. To calculate latitude (not longitude) you need time of year and time of day. So, if the bird was spotted in September at 2 in the afternoon you can actually calculate the latitude of the ship. With todays topography it it easy to eliminate mountains that do not fit the criteria. That is how you find the Arc! I believe the Bible's account of the flood is true & accurate. Georgia Purdon is a brilliant speaker, no doubting that fact, well versed & very fluent in the use of biblical text. One thing that I don't agree with is her telling us that Noah took into the ark species. At approximately 19 minutes into the video, Georgia shares with us Genesis 6.19 & 20. In verse 20 the word "Kinds" is used. This word is used in harmony with Noah taking into the ark every flying creature according to their kinds, domestic animals according to their kinds, of all the moving animals of the ground according to their kinds. From kinds come species. As an example to mention a few how many cat species, dog species & horse species exist today that did not exist in Noah's day? The reason many species of cats, dogs & horses etc did not exist in Noah's day is because of inbreeding between the kinds of birds or flying creatures, inbreeding between domestic animals & the inbreeding between moving animals of the ground as we see today such as the liger the offspring of a male lion & a female tiger or the cross-breeding between a mare horse & a stallion donkey ie mule or the inbreeding between a zebra stallion & a horse mare to produce the offspring known as a zorse.
Read the Sumerian Flood Myth. It precedes the Bible by many, many centuries. The Flood Myth: The Sumerian hero Gilgamesh traveled the world in search of a way to cheat death. On one of his journeys, he came across an old man, Utnapishtim, who told Gilgamesh a story from centuries past. The gods brought a flood that swallowed the earth. The gods were angry at mankind so they sent a flood to destroy him. The god Ea, warned Utnapishtim and instructed him to build an enormous boat to save himself, his family, and "the seed of all living things." He does so, and the gods brought rain which caused the water to rise for many days. When the rains subsided, the boat landed on a mountain, and Utnapishtim set loose first a dove, then a swallow, and finally a raven, which found land. The god Ishtar, created the rainbow and placed it in the sky, as a reminder to the gods and a pledge to mankind that there would be no more floods. See the text Epic of Gilgamesh: Sumerian Flood Myth.

The issue that bewilders me most about the story of Noah is that considering our human timeline, it happened very early in our existence. Noah appeared in the Bible just 3 chapters after Adam and Eve, in Chapter 5 of the Book of Genesis. That's very early in our history of what? How many people could have been alive at that time and the people that have lived since, especially today have gotten to be worse, or sinners, perverts by the millions these days that would out number everyone at Noahs time. Why would God kill off a population of so little to only see a huge population do the same within a thousand years of Noah? I thought this when I first read the Bible when I was 6. doesnt seem right.
God's got His reasons for everything. He's tried and tried and tried different things to get people to turn from their wicked ways but they fall again and again. Look at Moses and his people wandering for 40 years. Look at the plagues in Egypt. I tend to try to understand why instead of questioning God. I don't presume to be able to comprehend the bigger picture He sees that I never will. I hope that helps give a little bit of clarity or something to think about. As for how many people could have been alive, does that really matter? They were incredibly wicked. And obviously there were enough people to spread across the world after the tower of babel. And think how many kids old fashioned people tend to have. Populations can grow exponentially each generation.

What is a week to God? It certainly would not be on human time scales. Time doesn’t actually exist, it’s a man made function. Conversely how can God be all good, all powerful, all knowing? And let horrible things happen every day on Earth? The flood that Christians believe never happened the way it’s told.

77 million tons.

These huge water springs under the earth lead the way for the earth to broke up , along with the heavy rain with the amount of time these records tells it rain for.

exactly... the ark theory is not even worth wasting time on .. although both you and i are here wasting time on it...lol
you can't convince people that do not want to be convinced... and anyway would you want to ?

@@eddiestanford7308 sadly he cannot understand all things you said.
Also it is a major fallacy that all Christians make by using the old "no one was there argument" so we can't know and everyhing has to be taken on faith and belief, No, home sapiens were not around at the beginning but that doesn't mean that we can't find out what happened and in many respects we have,
It does a massive dis service to all the work that has been undertaken over the years by people trying to piece together what we know.
If people studied the subjects I have then they may understand a little of our past,
Finally I do not know if there is a God or any God, all I can do is look at the evidence around us without being bias and deliberately trying to rubbish opposing views unless they can provide good evidence for their position!

Everything you said about we are not being teached is so true. We do focus too much on the sentiments part and forget too much of the rational part we do also need.
The "Bible", a collection of stories, myths, and legends borrowed from other cultures, plagiarized the Epic of Gilgamesh in order to create an impossible tale.

the two of every species was when i started questioning this. basic biology tells us without enough genetic diversity in a species the species will eventually die out due to inbreeding, cancer being a common mutation due to it
Yeah I was coming to comment about that, that we are lucky our animals aren't so inbred that they try to claim.. although some dog breeds are pretty bad (and that has happened in couple hundred years) but not that bad that every specimen alive would have come from two individuals.. we would not have animals at all.. we can see it in humans too, example most inbred family in America and that hasn't taken as long as they try to claim animals have been on earth after that + humans take a lot longer to make offspring than most of animals so it would have taken even less time with most animals

How is that clumps of dead coral are found on top of mountains when they only grow at a maximum rate of 2mm to 10cm per year? Were they an unknown, fast growing species that were able to form in just over a year, and then go mysteriously extinct?

You must have the Bronto ribs. They are to die for!

I'm totaly onboard with the dinosaur explanation. It makes a lot of sense.
Dinosaurs went extinct long before this ark lie was even told. Do some research.
In a stupid way, yes.
So you believe in evolution?
Mules, zorses, ligers can’t breed therefore aren’t a species.
Read the Sumerian Flood Myth. It precedes the Bible by many, many centuries.
The Flood Myth:
The Sumerian hero Gilgamesh traveled the world in search of a way to cheat death.
See the text Epic of Gilgamesh: Sumerian Flood Myth.
so Noah fit all 8 million species of animals onto an ark?

On the subject of Noah & what he took into the ark, the bible makes it clear he took in not! species but kinds of animals. The human race is often referred to as 'mankind' which is where we have the various kinds of races considering there was only 1 race of people who came out of the ark alive which was Noah, his wife & their 3 sons & their wives. Believe it or not I at one point believe this story as well but with knowledge obviously it’s impossible…
I thought this when I first read the Bible when I was 6. doesnt seem right.
well said
God's got His reasons for everything.
