I'm surprised that horse doesn't whale holes in his sides from being dug with those spurs constantly. That's a shame, beautiful horse. You should be bowing to the horse for having that much patience with you. Do that without spurs, THAT will be impressive. #NoMoreSpurs
Honestly it’s just genetics, when they get proper muscling and strength then they drop their heads. It’s from selective breeding, even when they’re green they keep their heads low.
They are Bred to Work Cows… Look at Cutting Horses and it will start to make sense. The horse needs to get its Head at or below the Cows head to turn it around, Cows always put their Head Down when they change Direction. Also the reason for the Sliding stop with the Rollback !
When they say genetics it is mostly the way they are built how their necks are and how their neck sets into their body among other things. Look at a silhouette of a Friesian for example and you will see a lot of differences. I object to some trainers who over control them and force a headset on them and keep their noses stuck in the ground and even behind the vertical at times even running at top speed….but in this run the horse just uses his head neck as he needs to so it comes forward and a bit elevated at times, which is perfectly fine imo how it should be regarding the horse using his body how he was built.

Not better than jason
Can anyone tell me why reining horses need to wear their head so low most of the time? I‘m not riding western horses so can you explain it to me? 🤔
