3:25 how the fuck did they know all that at 1935, and it took us almost 100 years to figure out this was the most optimal way to train?!! i been lifting on and off for the last 11 years and i learned about double progression this year!!, i thought that was a new concept, they also knew it's best to hit every body part 2 to 3 times a week, and that full body is better for beginners. they basically had it all dialed in 100 years ago, that's crazy!
People act like the exercises and equipment we have today are somehow new and better than what's already been done before the steroid era. I like the bronze era aesthetic. It's actually achievable.
@andrewreed1329 Nothing small about guys like Eugene Sandow and George Hackenschmidt. I think their chests were just fine. The freaks on the gold era and our current era don't look human.
It is the mind muscle connection. Back in the early 1900’s there was no tv, no radio, no, cell phones, no computers. Their minds had less distractions, enabling them to concentrate better. Chess and reading were popular pastimes. So the old saying ‘strong in body and mind’
You also need to remember most of these guys would of been manual workers as a well as training in the gym. That would of played a huge part in their physiques. Today, we have so much technology that makes our lives far easier and many have become lazy in their daily lives.
Anyone who's done manual labor can tell you this. When I worked 10 hours a day, every day, I was the strongest I ever was. What would normally take me two hands I could easily do with one.
I agree! This is great information to put forth and promote, particularly at a time when we are suffering the loss of too many in the proportion of the sport. It is interesting to me how close this is to what is being pitched right now by the top trainers. What works - works! I eat no special foods and train smart but to failure with intensity, at 62 am still building a good physique.
This is the point of my channel...mostly, I promote natural bodybuilding. Sure, it's difficult to not admire the golden era physiques of the 70s..I grew up idolising Arnold, but for natties, bronze and silver era is where it's at
@@GoldenEraBookworm I think is a good point! A picture is worth 1000 words and here is concerning what can be achieved naturally for the maintaining and maximizing of these vessels of flesh and blood, during the short time we are allowed to be here.
I know you said you don't eat a special diet and also what works works, I definitely agree with those points, but it has been proven time and again that you can not out train a bad diet, and that body building is 90% diet. So even if you're not eating anything special if you want to achieve your best physique you should track your calories and macros. I mean even prisoners with no equipment get ripped, but at the same time there not eating in excess, just what they have access too. I'm also a big advocate for calisthenics and building functional strength not just achieving an aesthetic.
@@thanatosignis5702 Oh if I said that i don't think that diet is important I miss spoke or was misunderstood. 90%+ of my diet is unprocessed whole foods. Might I have some ice cream, every once in a while, mostly fruits for sweet or a 0 sugar.
Great knowledge here. Recently tried the Mentzer single set heavy weight approach for the first time. It definitely works, but I'm 60 and it's tough on joints and tendons. The old ways work, too. Muscle control, time under tension are valid and healthier, along with intensity and training to failure for results. As for nutrition, jailbirds get fantastic results with low-grade calories.
Αmazing and informative vid as always! I love the feeling of being transported to another time and place and learning so much this channel is gold indeed!
Ed Jubinville was also a Master of Muscle Control who did a Muscle Control Act during many Silver and Golden Era Bodybuiding Shows! He was able to control even the most minute muscles and dislocated his joints and demonstrated movements I never saw before! We had a Jubinville “Cadillac Arm Machine” in the Olympia Gym in Brooklyn Ny where I first trained after leaving my basic basement Gym after a year of training at 14” practiced Judo next door”also. That would be a great piece for your museum mate.It was plate loaded preacher curl wit unique handles with the plate loaded pulley attached to the side.It was in many photo shoots with Arnold,Franco,Eddie Giuliano everyone that visited loved that machine.Ed died in 93 and was active into his late 60s rom what I heard.
All basic fundamentals ,with some unique moves ! I could go back to my 12-year-old self, I'll tell him to put down the Super Nintendo and start focusing on the bronze era type of training 😏😆💪
I actually made a technique, every death in a game is equivalent to one full set for an exercise. Make a tally board and play a difficult game like Donkey Kong Country 2 then go to the gym, do a bunch of different exercises!
They had to put their money where their mouth was. If they didn't produce results that others could see and were real they would have gone out of business. The entire systems they put out there couldn't be overly fancy or hard to understand either but so simple that people could do it on their own. They created simple but highly effective systems.
His routine is basically the recommendations published by Nautilus/HIT/Mentzer/Yates many years later. Not until the advent and bastardation of training as AAS entered the game, did the absurb everyday,20 sets nonsense become prevalent. That being said, many of the example physiques here likely had a propensity to become muscular.Ie good genes.
Nice I see a lot of bodyweight exercises 👍🏻 But he wasn't using or courging supplement but you do at the end of your video ? What was his nuitration ?recovery?
The bronze era people looked much more dense they look way stronger and healthier than modern day bodybuilders. They look like that they can actualy run jump fight move weights not only linear but any real life weight like stones machines forniture etc.
People would still accuse these people of doing steroids if they existed today. Alot of people who accuse bodybuilders of steroid use seem to just be haters.
Back Then People In General Actually Had To Do Physical Stuff, Not Just Sit At A Computer All Day. Life Was More Physical Back Then. Wake Up Early, Go Do Physical Work, Come Home And Repeat.
people now can’t achieve them because they are fat lol these guys have 6 months of training worth of muscle. most dudes in the gym would look good but they’re too fat. that’s literally it.
testosterone was synthesized in 1935, yet steroids gained popularity in the 50-60s, the bronze era endes in 1939,many peopke wouldve been skeptical of steroids at the time., they were natty
@@vincentgibson3049 laugh all you want, they had testosterone amounts in the 4 digits, also adding hard work makes muscles, its not that hard to understand
Lol, yes they were. You are just jealous your own physique is pathetic and you can't develop anything close to what they could, using the fancy machines that are around today.

I love how the bodybuilders of the bronze and silver were more athletic. They were bulky but in a way that was productive to working or athletica
very amazing physiques

nah narrow shoulders, small chest

Their food was better too. No food pumped full of hormones or microplastics in the water supply.
Yes true this guy body better than me and they are less information

Thank you mate
Wow, I didn’t know they had such developed exercises and regimented workouts back then.
Nothing is new under the sun

WOW!!! Great vid, man.
Thanks
Mobility is really important for the natty gains
This channel is great! Thanks
Thanks
Bronze age is where it is at!
Didnt ask plus i make better content plus iam more jacked
Amazing physique man reminds me of the bronce era bodybuilders Bobby Pandour would be proud.
Wow!! The exercises weren’t just to look good in the mirror, it’s about being mobile n agile
I noticed that too! These guys were limber and not bogged down and stiff probably would have made great surfers!
Of course...it was physical culture
They trained for strength and conditioning first and aesthetics where a second.
I like the chest of the bronze era and not these huge chest. I’m a boxer so a huge chest would be horrible for my punching mechanics.
Thank you , well explained .
I could never really grasp the method. I have bought the Books not well structured or never a step by step guide.
All basic fundamentals ,with some unique moves !

What about the light dumbbell system?
What were these guys doing for work to sustain such training?
Excellent video !
👌👍
Bro please make video on bronze era bodybuilder William Murray
Can you explain 'Bronze Era ' ?
Bronze era is before the synthesis of testosterone and steroids. It's the time we knew everyone was natural and not on gear.
Very interesting !
Bronze era and early silver era
Maxick? Max Max Muscle? lol great video, love your content
thank you
Bronze era guys focused on strength and conditioning first and aesthetics second. They used barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells and bodyweight exercises.
Nice I see a lot of bodyweight exercises 👍🏻
But he wasn't using or courging supplement but you do at the end of your video ?
What was his nuitration ?recovery?
Whole natural food
Hey bruh, How is your physique?
A work in progress

sure Jan....
👍
In these days its a totaly freakshow .😔my complements for this great video.
So what did they eat?
meat
This is a great vid but too slow. 1.75x is prefect
All videos @ 1.75 👍
So OHearn is natty
consulte Apocalipsis 14:12 y 18:23, tenga cuidado con la prueba de PCR, es bastante alarmante lo que la gente ha demostrado.
For yo neck bro get a neck harness
Did these guys use creatine
creatine is found in meat so yes they did, they didnt use creatine like people do now, they only ate meat for the creatine
So what do the workouts look like. I’m trying to get on it
IT is obvious, they did not put any emphasis on huge pecs back then
Honestly looks better like that
This should be SOLID proof you don't need testerone/ steroids etc etc etc. Eat lots of meat, and train hard!
Back Then People In General Actually Had To Do Physical Stuff, Not Just Sit At A Computer All Day. Life Was More Physical Back Then. Wake Up Early, Go Do Physical Work, Come Home And Repeat.

They were not natural! Dig deeper...

Testosterone was synthesized in 1935. You might suck off dogs but it doesn't work.
Amazing physiques!
